Joe sighed with indignation and exited the room first, harrumphing on his way out. His b.u.t.tocks still stung, and his anger had not yet subsided. The pointed shoes that Caesar had thrown at him prior were undoubtedly made out of some kind of powerful substance. Not only were they still in pristine condition, but they felt similar to a metal hammer.

Caesar noticed Joe's weird way of walking and couldn't help but chuckle to himself. He followed behind the husky dwarf and trailed the walls with his index finger, tapping them with his nails now and then.

Their well-dressed figures caught the eye of many residents, including the female innkeeper. They adorned clothes that only the rich would be capable of affording, earning the awe and jealousy from the onlookers.

Especially Joe, since Dwarves were generally working in the mines, workshops, or construction, not many of them were well-off. In fact, it was quite an unusual sight to see a wealthy dwarf, so most of the residents just a.s.sumed Caesar bought the clothes for him. Which arguably wasn't very far off from the truth.

Like this, Joe started to walk with his chin held up high—he loved the attention and admiration he was receiving. On the other hand, Caesar smiled wryly and decided to drive his carriage to the royal wedding. It would unbefitting of a n.o.ble to walk on their own two legs; it would cause him and Rahvin kingdom to lose face.

He untied the reigns and made sure that the white stallions were well-fed and hydrated before hopping on top of the carriage. Joe followed in suit, and they couldn't help but wonder where Joanna and Richard escaped off to. According to the deal, Caesar purchased them as bodyguards, yet they were nowhere to be seen.

Unfortunately, this unsolvable mystery was at the bottom of their to-do list. Instead, Caesar was much more worried about the bustling streets, full of priests and churchmen. They had been cooped up in their room for an entire three days, so they were unaware of the current situation in Limbo kingdom.

A relatively large group of knights were busy escorting a golden carriage with wings engraved onto the sides. Pedestrians cheered and gleeful laughter escaped from their lips as the cart pa.s.sed. A few of the more earnest souls even lifted their hands in prayer, offering their absolute obedience.

Caesar stared at the scene incredulously. However, realization donned upon him as his brows deeply creased. Powerful nations would surely garner the attention of the church, so it was only natural that the church was present.

A deep sigh escaped from his thin lips as he pulled the reigns and edged the carriage closer to the palace. If his luck were good, there would be no mishaps. In contrast, if it was terrible, who knew what kind of problems would arise. Even the silly dwarf to his right understood the gravity of the matter, clenching his fists into a ball.

When they had first arrived at the nation, Caesar had already sensed a few rather strong characters. Those with mana more abundant than even him. Now, they were all congregating into the same area—the palace.

Countless parades and celebrations were occurring all over the place, congratulating their crowned princes marriage. Caesar observed all of this from the tall carriage, looking down on all of the citizens with a birds-eye view. His and Joe's prominent figures were, of course, regarded and noted. Many human royals from all over the world had gathered, so most people just a.s.sumed both Caesar and Joe were apart of a kingdom in the north-east.

With a steady pace, gradually arrived at the palace, parking their luxurious carriages next to the other few dozen. The white steeds neighed happily at the sight of their kin and nuzzled their noses. Caesar let them do as they pleased and hopped off the carriage, helping Joe down in the process.

They walked alongside the ma.s.sive stream of people and hiked up the huge staircase. Plenty of madams and gentlemen greeted them as they walked by. Every single one of them adorned fancy clothes and showcased their wealth with jewelry and other kinds of eye-candy. On the other hand, a few of the ill-mannered folks disdained Joe, who was a dwarf. Human supremacists hated to dine and drink with those who belonged to another race.

Thankfully, Joe, who had been imprisoned for a substantial portion of his life, was used to being looked down upon. Caesar too didn't mind what others thought him and his friend—he couldn't even care less. He just wanted to strike a deal with the king and depart, nothing more, nothing less.

With this in mind, they soon transcended the fleet of stairs and reached the gigantic gates, opened up wide, and protected by hundreds of armored knights. Each guest provided their identification and name, to which they were allowed pa.s.sage. A few of the unregistered guests were "kindly" escorted out by the guards.

Soon, it was Joe's and Caesar's turn. The guard asked for identification in a bored and routinely manner, to which Caesar presented it. It was a black and purple badge, accentuated with a gold engraving of a lion. It represented Rahvin kingdom, and the guards soon allowed pa.s.sage.

Caesar nodded his head thankfully and led Joe through the gates, where loud chattering was taking place. Marble floors that reflected the light of the chandeliers glistened beautifully. The dance floor was made out of some sort of rosewood, perfect for dancing and glossing. A group of musicians at the side was playing a lovely tune, with their violins, flutes, pianos, and even composers.

At the end of the populated hall, the king sat in his chair, resting his right cheek in the palm of his hands. His eyes lazily scanned the room until it reached Caesar's location. His squinted and lips curled as if he had discovered an enemy of equal standing.

To the kings left, a rather young man sat. He possessed short, red hair, a lively face, and eyes full of determination. His looks could be considered average, but he was rather manly, fitting the image of a crowned prince. He adorned a grey, double-sided suit, while his marriage partner was nowhere to be seen.

Below the two royals, a large table was present. Twelve empty seats showcased themselves, and only one current person was sitting. It was a beautiful woman with long, blonde hair, blue eyes, and a holy-like dress wrapped around her curvaceous body.

Her eyes were also looking in Caesar's direction.
