"Oh my, how do you get your skin so beautiful?" a young n.o.ble lady asked
"You're a perfect fit for the marshall, your beauty is unmatched!" A rough looking man roared in laughter and complimented.
Caesar looked at Ahri's happy smile and laughed heartily inside, he let her converse with all of the people crowding around her and decided to go find his father.
Caesar scanned the room for a few seconds before finally, he laid his eyes upon a few dukes crowding around Crowley, Caesar smiled imperceptibly and walked over.
"This is a great party so far, my father" Caesar greeted
Crowley stopped talking with the nearby dukes and a smile blossomed on his face once he saw Caesar, "my son, you and Ahri are looking very charming tonight" Crowley complimented and gave Caesar a big hug.
The dukes around them all smiled, "I am so envious of Crowley, to have such a great son is truly his luck"
"Haha, don't worry my friends… your sons will accomplish much, just like mine" Crowley replied humbly.
The dukes laughed loudly and smiled "hopefully in this new military school, they will show great talent"
Caesar looked at them curiously "how is the progress for the military school going?" Caesar asked.
"Haha, most of the opposition is gone… just that Rudolph family is against it" one of the dukes next to Crowley replied.
"Rudolph?" Caesar asked curiously.
"Yeah, their family is against letting commoners enter the school. His firstborn son is known to purchase many slaves and bully the commoners. Alas, his family has a great deal of power in the kingdom… we can't just ignore his opinion" One of the dukes said in exasperation.
Crowley smiled and interrupted him "however, the Rudolph household head has finally agreed… he has, at last, come to his senses, it is probably that new daughter his wife gave birth to, haha" he laughed happily.
Caesar rested his chin on his right hand and changed the subject "how is the insurance plan going?" he asked curiously
The n.o.bles showed a troubled expression, "the plan itself is going to be implemented, the problem is the price… many of the left wing officials are too greedy." one of the dukes said.
Caesar nodded his head in understanding, "you can't raise the tax too high, no one would pay an outrageous amount for something that may or may not be useful" he said in a calm tone.
----
"Oi, how much did he buy you for? I can give you twice as much haha" a sn.o.bbish and arrogant voice resounded inside the halls interrupting their conversation.
Crowley, Caesar, and the other n.o.bles all turned around to see what was going on…
In the middle of the halls, a young man with short brown hair and freckles all over his face was confronting Ahri… The young man was a head shorter than Ahri and looked like a clown, however, his luxurious clothes stated otherwise.
Ahri looked at the young man in front of her with curiosity "buy? What are you talking about?" she asked dumbfounded.
The young man suddenly yanked the chain in his hand and a nearly fully nude young fox-kin lady fell to the floor… she was riddled with scars and had clearly taken a large amount of abuse.
"Heh, I bought this beauty for only 10 gold coins… how much did you cost?" the man smiled arrogantly and peeked over at Caesar.
The young man hated that Caesar was getting all of the attention, he wanted to give him a lesson.
The young man peeked over expecting to see a rage-filled face, however, he was disappointed and instead saw that Caesar had an extremely calm face… so calm, in fact, that it made chills down his spine.
Once Ahri laid eyes on the girl that looked 16 or perhaps younger she shook in rage… She crouched down and helped the lady up.
"It's okay now, I'm here," Ahri said soothingly.
Suddenly, the girl was pulled back once again, "don't touch my possessions without my permission again" The young man said with disdain.
The entire hall went silent while watching this scene unfold… The knights all ground their teeth in anger, they wanted to step in but they feared they would put their families in risk
----
Caesar squinted his eyes and asked in a low tone "is that the eldest son of the Rudolph household?" he asked coldly.
"Yes, please do not spill any blood at this party my son" Crowley answered back worriedly.
"The world is run on laws, those at the top must follow those same laws to give an example for those below them, yes?"
"That is correct my son, slavery has been allowed since ancient times" Crowley answered back and nodded his head.
"Tsk" Caesar clicked his tongue in displeasure and walked over to where Ahri was.
"Grr, release her!" Ahri yelled in anger, blue flames danced on her palms.
Suddenly she felt a warm touch on her shoulders, she looked up and saw Caesar's tender expression… she calmed down and extinguished the flames on her palm.
Caesar s.h.i.+fted his gaze from Ahri's beautiful face and stared at the young man in front of him.
"W-what are you looking at? It's not against the laws you know? You can't do anything to me" The young man smiled confidently.
The entire hall looked at this scene with displeasure, a perfectly grand ball was ruined by a snot-nosed brat.
"You were born with everything, power, influence, women, food… but, you never gained the responsibility that is needed to possess those things" Caesar said quietly while shaking his head in disappointment.
Caesar scanned the halls calmly, he stepped forward and crouched down. He reached for the girl that was lying on the ground and moved the bangs of hair that covered her face.
A young and beautiful face presented itself to the entire hall, her eye's were slightly withered but there was still some light present.
Caesar moved his face even closer, the people in the hall on concentrated their gaze on the words Caesar looked like he was about to say, but not on his subtle hands that if one looked closely enough pa.s.sed a slightly s.h.i.+ny like object to the girl's hands.
Caesar whispered undecipherably "I will protect you, run wild" Caesar smiled and stood back up.
he patted the young n.o.ble on his shoulders and asked curiously "what is your name?"
"Randy" The young n.o.ble replied back hastily.
"I see, well Randy, to answer your question earlier, Ahri is not for sale and even if you offered the entire world It would still not be enough" Caesar smiled coldly and turned around with Ahri.
He walked ever so slowly and it felt as though time stopped one step… two steps… three steps… Once he was about 5 feet away the young fox-kin girl used this moment and stood up hastily.
A s.h.i.+ning object s.h.i.+ned in her hands as she struck down at Randy, no one even had time to react before blood spurted throughout the halls.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHH" Randy screamed and covered his shoulder that was bleeding profusely.
The girl tackled Randy and stabbed once again on his other shoulder, then on his right thigh, and his arm.
"GUARDS, HELP…. ANYONE AHHHHHHH" Randy's screams echoed throughout the entire hall.
"SOMEONE HELP MY SON!" a middle-aged voice roared out at this time.
Caesar turned back ever so slowly and looked down at this scene with cold eyes, the young girl was crying a river while stabbing down.
"You b.a.s.t.a.r.d!"
"This is for raping me!"
"This is for killing my mother"
"For my father!"
Her screeches echoed in everyone's ears, causing the guards to halt their steps and just watch on.
Soon Randy's screams stopped and just the sound of a knife puncturing skin entered into the ears of everyone present, the young girl abruptly stopped stabbing and threw the knife on the floor.
*clang*
She stood up and looked at everyone with hatred reflected in her eyes.
"I lived through h.e.l.l, many people have looked at me with pity, sadness, anger, helplessness, but I hated it all… I NEVER WANTED SOMEONE'S PITY, I WANTED THEIR HELP"
She choked on her tears and continued…
"I waited for so long, I lived just for the thought of finally being able to gain my vengeance…"
The people in the hall had their tongue's tied, she was right… they didn't do anything in fear of retaliation.
"There are so many that are like me, that live in h.e.l.l while all of you have these parties to celebrate. What about us? Does anyone care about us?" The young girl continued to rant to all those nearby.
"Don't you hate it? I was told stories by my father of the glorious heroes and saints but how come they never stopped slavery? How come they didn't come and save me?"
The young girl spilled out her grievances while choking on tears, Ahri suddenly ran towards her and hugged her tightly… "It's okay now," she said soothingly in her ear.
The scene of a beautiful purple-haired fox kin hugging a bloodied white-haired younger fox-kin created a peculiar picture.
"WAHHHHH" The girl cried on Ahri's shoulders dirtying her dress.
"CAN YOU STOP WATCHING AND HURRY UP AND ARREST THIS Wh.o.r.e?" a furious middle-aged man stomped forward.
Caesar shook his head and subtly walked to where the knife was thrown and picked it up, he stashed it in his pocket and blocked the young girl.
"I will deliver proper judgment towards this young la.s.s, I will be taking her to the prison now," He said with a serious tone directed at the middle-aged man.
Ahri looked at Caesar shocked and the middle-aged man finally stopped moving "fine! I expect to see her head on the city gates tomorrow morning" he yelled and walked out of the halls.
Caesar escorted both Ahri and the young girl through the hall and went inside the hallway that he and Ahri had come through at the start of the party.
Crowley soon cleared his throat loudly "the grand ball has been interrupted, but, do not let that stop you from continuing to drink"
The rest of the people present stayed for a few more minutes but soon the halls became empty and everyone left… No one wanted to stay in that dark atmosphere.
Randy's body was cleaned up by Sebastian and a few other guards…
---
Caesar escorted the two girls to his room and locked the door behind him, Ahri sat down on the bed with the young fox-kin and whispered soothing words.
After the girl calmed down Caesar finally couldn't help but ask, "what is your name?"
"Adriana" The girl replied after a few seconds of hesitation.
Caesar nodded his head, "I will let you two talk alone, I have some things I need to take care of" Caesar said with a wide smile and stepped out of the room.
"Young master, I have prepared the location and information on the entire Rudolph family"
Caesar smiled coldly and took the papers from Sebastian's hands, he walked while reading "I have some loose ends to clean up" he thought inwardly.
The sound of his and Sebastian's cold but steady footsteps were the only things that could be heard in the palace that night.
