He had messy hair and clothes, he was a little drunk and reeked of alcohol and looked as if he didn't sleep the whole night. Everyone was shocked at seeing him in that state and asked him where he was and how this happened but he ignored all of them and barged into her office. She was sitting in her table writing an email, wearing a blue dress and high heels, her hair was kept in a messy bun. She was listening to Sofi as she narrated the reports to her. Sofi was astonished at Noah's sudden arrival and flinched. She tried to hold him back but was pushed away harshly. He stepped towards Aria and banged his hand on the table. As he lifted his hand she could see a paper there. She picked and unfolded it, it was a resignation letter.
"What does this mean?" She asked him calmly.
"I am resigning." He said and was a little tipsy.
"Get out of here and talk to me when you come back to your senses." She said and threw the letter away.
"You can't order me!" He shouted and everyone just stared at him helplessly for he was playing with fire.
"Just let me do it." He said and his voice cracked. Tears streamed down his eyes and he fell on his knees.
"Just let me do this so that I don't feel guilty anymore." He sobbed.
"I hate myself for doing everything and by getting away from you and leaving you forever, I'll feel a little better. Cause I think that I'll hurt you if I stay closer to you. So please let me do it." He said and looked helpless.
Her expressions were stern and his words didn't move her at all. He was now crying over the spilled milk but it was too late for that. She had already buried all her feelings and there was no way back now.
"Ari, here's the..." Liam said as he was walking into her office but was shocked by the tense atmosphere in there.
She looked up at him and he knew that she was asking him to get her out of that situation.
"Here's the information you asked for." He said and lifted the file in his hand.
"Good, I had to talk about the official engagement ceremony with you." She said as she stood up and walked past Noah without even looking at him. They both went outside and no one knew what they were talking about.
Noah sobbed bitterly as he heard her words, he realized that he had lost her completely. The others consoled him for a while but they also knew that he was the one who did wrong in the first place. He walked away without saying anything. They were helpless and thought that he needed some time alone. He walked out of the building, his eyes blank and he didn't know where to go.
Liam and Aria were watching him from the cafeteria that had a large gla.s.s wall that showed a wide view of the entrance of the building.
"You're not gonna do anything?" Liam asked as he handed her a cup of coffee.
"If I did I'll lose myself again. I'll become a girl who cares about everyone except for herself and still gets betrayed in the end. She gains nothing, neither love nor respect." He looks at her and wraps his arm around her.
"Then just do what makes you happy..." He said and she rested her head on his shoulder.
"Maybe this calmness." She said and they both chuckled.
"Let's finish this fight then." He said and pulled away to grab the file that was kept on the table behind them.
"What's the progress?" She asked and turned to him.
"Sam is planning to attack at the party that we have to attend the day after tomorrow. He's bought a lot of weapons." He said as he read the file that was given to him by the agents who were spying on Sam this whole time.
"He's trying to finish it all now." She said and looked up at the sky.
"Plant bombs at the venue, enough to just start a fire." She said and he was kinda confused.
"What are you planning to do?" He asked her and stood beside her.
"The same as him, end all this." She said and smiled softly at him.
"I'm just worried about one thing." He looked up at her in curiosity.
"He'll try to approach Noah again and this will destroy Noah completely." She said and sighed deeply.
"He's already seen the truth and it's his choice now. If he agrees again it won't be considered a mistake." He said to comfort her. He caressed her shoulder and she smiled at him.
Noah was walking blankly and had gotten far away from the headquarters. He was on a bridge without even realizing where he had reached. He stared at the dark blue water that flowed below that bridge. The sounds of the cars weren't enough to suppress the sound in his mind that told him to jump off that bridge and he got up on the edge.
"You're going to do that?" Someone said suddenly. Noah looked to his side and realized that it was Sam and he was standing beside him. He was wearing all black clothes and looked a little pale.
"Just for a girl?" He stretched his arm.
"If I was in your shoes I would have killed her." He said as he looked around.
"Just like you killed her mother," Noah asked and Sam wasn't even surprised.
"She was a b.i.t.c.h, she pretended to love me but married him in the end and had a child with him. She deserved it because she betrayed me." He answered and was filled with anger.
"What about my mother then?" He asked him.
"She was a nice woman. She obeyed me and never went against me. She died because she suffered from depression." He said and leaned against the fencing.
"Why are you here today?" Noah asked him.
"To stop you from taking your life." He replied and looked up at him.
"She's never coming back to you and is already moving on in her life." He emphasized.
"You're useless..." He said and intended to hurt his wounds. Noah closed his eyes and a tear ran down his eye.
"It's up to you, come to my side and let her know you're the boss, she can't order you around. You can even kill her, cause if something can't be yours it can't be of anyone else." Sam said and had a cunning smile on his face.
"I'm not like you," Noah said and was a bit angry.
"Oh dear, you are," Sam said loudly.
"You're my son and why can't you realize by now. You're the same as me, you didn't even flinch before killing anyone. You accept it or not you're my son and we're the same." He said and his expressions turned dark.
"If you step down now I'll take it as a sign that you're with me otherwise you can jump down this bridge..." He gave him the choice.
Noah was silent for a few minutes and then he lifted his foot. Sam was looking closely at what he would do next. His foot slid back and he came down...
