Everyone was chattering as they gathered to the event floor of the building.

At the same time, Joseph who was now walking towards the stage still had this grumpy look.

"Good afternoon everyone, before we all go home which is something I know you all already wanted to do," he started.

He received a few laughs with this.

"But before that allow me to introduce to all of you the new second in command in our company, miss Amber Wood."

Most have already seen her while a few still haven't, murmurs errupted as she walked up the stage and most of it was regarding her mask.

"h.e.l.lo to all of you, I just started yesterday but I hope I'd get along with most of you for the following months. Also I can hear a lot of talk about this mask."

She pointed at her mask.

"Well, sadly an incident happened during my graduation and I ended up having this hideous scar."

As she said this, she removed her mask. A mask she changed into an easily removal one, the one with strings for the ears.

She pulled it down hiding the lower half of her face instead.

She heard gasps as look of shock were visible at the faces of those who are looking at her.

"Yup, I expected that reaction."

Even Joseph had this unbelievable look upon seeing her scar.

"But that's just it, I have a scar and so the mask was needed. Anyway, now that I have addressed that, I guess that ends my introduction."

After that she left the stage, it took a few moment before Joseph went up and dismissed everyone.

"Acting all high and mighty when you actually look so hideous," she heard a voice on the side and not to her surprise, she actually saw Karen with some other ladies.

"I never hid it, I wonder why you think that this scar could bring anyone down? Even with the scar, look where I am now. In a position higher than yours?"

Her words rendered them speechless.

She gave them a sarcastic smile, "I think you should really change this att.i.tude of yours, who knows you might end up offending a much superior person without knowing it."

"As they say, don't judge a book by its cover. Stop thinking with your b.r.e.a.s.t.s, use your heads will you?"

She even glanced down at their b.r.e.a.s.t.s that was indeed bigger than the others.

'I can tell that all of them are already done by Joseph Fox.'

After that she left them there standing like idiots.

She heard Joseph call for her from his car parked just to the side the moment she stepped out.

But she acted like she didn't hear him upon seeing Ashton's rolls-royce. She only saw this once in the garage.

She rushed to cross the street before getting into the car, she also saw that Joseph was staring at the car with his window down.

"Let's go, I don't want to stay any longer within that person's sight."

She commanded as she put on her seatbelt. Ashton no longer waited and moved away as Joseph watch them from the other side.

He has a frown on his face, the car was obviously expensive and much more expensive than his. Just who is her fiance?

"Why don't you just fire him? It's like his becoming a toxic to your daily life already," he commented.

"If only, but there are still so many things that he had achieved that I can't just fire him with what he was doing in his office. I need more concrete evidence."

He understood what she meant so he no longer commented.

"By the way, we're going for the final group of small gangs in this country tonight."

Amber turned her head towards him, "How about Blake? Is he already healed? No that is impossible and at the same time, this is not your normal schedule."

"Indeed this is not our normal schedule, it seems that they got wind of our frequency that they became prepared. And Blake will not be coming," Ashton explained.

"Then I'll be his replacement?" she beamed, she had wanted to have some action in her life now.

"Why do you look so happy?" he glanced at her before commenting.

"Well, I am itching to fire a gun?" she replied with the brightest smile she had for the whole day.

*****

"Where are you?" Ashton asked as they checked inside the warehouse.

"For the nth time, I am well hidden a few buildings away from the warehouse itself, but was still enough to give you back up."

She replied as she used a binocular to check the surrounding for another sniper.

She can feel her blood boiling as enjoyment filled her heart.

She always wanted to try this, a moment of real action. Where she was actually a hidden part of the group.

"Act like a sniper and stay low," he commanded.

"Yes, boss," she even gave a salute as if he could see her, as she squatted down.

Ashton shook his head before looking back at his subordinates and Devon and Aldger.

"Should we be worried that you won't be able to concentrate?" Devon asked.

Ashton frowned, "Why are you talking about being worried about me instead?"

"Do you think that lady who was far from here and was only here to play around would actually be put in danger?" Aldger replied as a matter of factly.

Kent, who was the captain of the current group they brought, nodded together with the other subordinates.

They were the ones who were present when Amber barged inside Ashton's office and tamed the raging lion.

"Clear your minds, let's begin."

He can tell that his subordinates are already taken by Amber, so he no longer decided to delve on the subject but instead change it to what is going on at hand.

Devon and Aldger grinned at each other, there are only a few times that they can see him being helpless.

And the way he worries about that little woman in another building they couldn't help but feel amused.

Too bad, Blake was not around to witness it.

He had always been the one being bullied by Ashton after all.

With quiet footsteps, their group went in in different directions.

They have learned from their past mistake of taking the small gangs lightly.

That is why this time, they decided to enter not as a whole but separately.

"Hi there mister."

Ashton frowned for just as he stepped in, he heard Amber's voice through the wireless earpiece.

"What are you doing?" he asked in a whisper.

"Oh nothing, just saw a sniper. Seems they thought that these guys are your weakness. They are actually quite prepared, though he seemed to only be a guard."

She positioned herself as she spoke.

"It doesn't seem like they knew you guys are there already. Cautious indeed but not cautious enough."

The gun of the other side's sniper was positioned facing the warehouse but the sniper himself was sitting on the side, bored.

"Don't shoot yet," Ashton replied.

"Please, who do you think I am? I am your support okay? If I shoot then everyone will know that you guys have infiltrated," Amber rolled her eyes.

He sometimes really treats her like a child.

After memorizing the position of the gun in order to get a clean hit on the other side, she once again used her binauculars to check the surrounding if there are more.

Before looking towards the warehouse to keep an eye on those who are playing cards.

"Yup all clear, you can all go ahead and wreck havoc now," she updated.

This caused Devon and Aldger to chuckle.

Her voice was so relax as if what they are doing was but a simulation.

Ashton shook his head before gesturing for his men to attack.

The one closest to Kent was suddenly sent flying when he kicked him.

He dropped near his companions who are playing cards.

As he stood up ready to attack back, they heard other shouts on the other side of the warehouse where their other companions are.

Ashton was the only one who was not moving, this time even Devon and Aldger are attacking.

Kicks and punches were sent towards the gang members who could only fight back as they shout to more of their companions.

*CRASH*

The sniper who was already contacted and ready to shoot, was completely shock when his lens was suddenly shuttered, the bullet piercing through the middle.

He look to the side not knowing where it came from. The shot was clean, with the length of the lens, the shot was made exactly at the middle.

"Wew, I am still as good as ever," Amber complimented herself.

"Focus Thalie," she heard him say on the other side.

"Thalie?" the other two asked upon hearing the way he called her.

"You already know why," Amber replied.

It was only the three of them, Jake France and Elloise's family who knew about her deepest secret.

Devon after blocking another punch and pus.h.i.+ng the one who was attacking from the other side, nodded upon remembering where the name came from.

Aldger was late by a few seconds as his opponent was holding a knife.

The moment the opponent slashed his knife towards him, Aldger held unto his arm, before throwing him on his back making him fall unconscious.

"Ah, Nathalie."

"SHHHHHH!!"
