There was an immense pain and sorrow behind Evan's gentle smile

"So far you G.o.ds did nothing"

As Don said, the white blankness around him turned into a grizzly warzone.

When Don looked at his feet, he saw the ground beneath him was dyed in red while the sound of metal clas.h.i.+ng and screaming echoed through the field.

There were millions of dead bodies lying on the ground, some looked like a human while some had different forms. The red clouds, the dead bodies, the ominous flashes of lightning, the screamings, and the ominous feel in the battlefield sent a chill through Don's spine because it was nothing like he has ever seen, not on this ma.s.sive scale.

Don tried to see the dead bodies closer but the scene disappeared and the previous white blankness surrounded him.

"What you have just seen is only a fraction, Don?"

"Fraction of what?"

Evan sighed as he let out a gentle smile

"The war between the G.o.ds and the Vargons"

��The Vargons?"

"They go by many different names in different worlds, Shadows, Evils, Devils, Demons. When you become strong enough, I'll show you more because if I show you now, your soul will explode "

"If you're still talking about the war, so the war is still going on?"

Evan didn't say anything as Don continued

"In a war between G.o.ds and these Vargons, where do I fit in?"

Since Don had a feeling that Evan already knew what happened in life, Don didn't talk about his past or what his thought about the G.o.ds anymore

"It's not the Vargons we need to worry about Don, but their Queen"

"The one called Aathreya"

Don said as Evan nodded

"Yes, the men you sent to get a water spirit, they were just attacked by one of her soul fragments"

"What?"

Don was furious about someone attacked Gael as well as took Benedict and Arya by force but now hearing Evan, he almost couldn't believe his bad luck

"I had to wake from my slumber to go there and save your men, that's why your body is currently lying unconscious outside and we are having this conversation"

"Are they alright?"

"She killed one of them, Jofrad"

"She will pay for that"

"First you must grow stronger Don, She and I can only hurt each other but only you can break this balance and kill her"

Don already knew that one day he had to face her but today by attacking his men and kill one of them, she made it personal

"How can I?"

Don wanted to ask Evan as he raised his hand and the surroundings started to disappear

"When you wake up, you won't remember any of this, continue on your path Don, we will meet again soon"

"DON!"

When Don opened his eyes and sat up, he felt hard to breathe as he was tightly hugged by two beautiful women in Everlight.

Knight wanted to leap forward and slap those who were looking at Don with jealousy written all over their face as some the dwarves even started to drool but seeing Don's being hugged by Amaryll and Arrora, he couldn't blame them.

"You're alive"

"Well not for long if you keep squeezing him like that"

Hearing Knight, Arrora let go of Don and moved back while wiping the tears on her face away but Amaryll didn't let go of her hold 

"It's alright Amaryll"

Don couldn't do anything but hesitantly pat Amaryll's back so she would let go of him

"Brother, you scared us"

After Amaryll stepped back, Catalie flew around Don to make sure that he's fine

And before DOn could say anything, he felt a sharp pain in his arm as he turned to realized that he was punched by Knight

"What the h.e.l.l happened, you b.a.s.t.a.r.d"

Knight seemed to be furious but Don was able to see the concern in his eyes as he shook his head

"I don't know, I suddenly felt weak"

"Your majesty, you should quickly come here"

Suddenly Don heard the panic-stricken voice of Nikalas in his head

"Something's wrong, Come on, let's go meet Nikalas"

As he said, Don disappeared leaving the concerned faces like Amaryll behind to the teleportation array room

When Don entered the teleportation room, he saw Ken and the men he took to get the water spirit lying on the floor without any movements

"Oh s.h.i.+t what now?"

Knight said with a mix of anger and uneasiness as Ken slowly regained his consciousness and tried to stand up

"Your... majesty..."

Seeing Don walking towards him, Ken looked up and stuttered

"Hear drink this"

Don lost the count of healing potions he used in the last few days as he took another and gave to Ken 

Fortunately, unlike Gael, Ken started to look better as his wounds and scratches on his body began to heal rapidly when he finished gulping the healing potion

"Catalie, take them to the infirmary"

"Elrond!"

Amaryll screamed when she saw little Elrond among the unconscious group as he rushed forward and carried Elrond to the infirmary 

"She...she's back"

"She will pay for killing Jofrad"

Don said after hearing what happened in the cave from Ken

"Give him a proper burial, we will not let his death be in vain"

"Yes, General Knight"

The men who went to with Ken had woken up with full strength after taking the homemade remedies made by Amaryll as Knight ordered them to give Jofrad who died in the hands of Aathreya a proper burial

"Arrora is there any news about Benedict and Arya?"

"Joel is working on that, we will soon have something"

"So what are we going to do now?"

"Our enemies, they are too strong, we will get destroyed if we take them head on now"

Don, Arrora, and Ken nodded hearing Knight as they knew that facing Cold moon palace or the woman who attacked Gael was simply too powerful for Everlight to face and hearing Ken's story, they realized that Aathreya might be the strongest one in the entire world right now so going to the cave was nothing but a suicide plan.

Fortunately, according to Ken's guess, she was unable to leave the cave and the entrance was closed by the ice blocks so the odds of someone finding her was almost zero.

"Your majesty, I'm sorry that I failed you"

Ken knelt and said as Don shook his head

"No, you didn't Ken, take some men again and go directly to where the water spirit is, don't make any stops, fly if you want"

"Don"

Knight wanted to stop Don because Ken and the men just barely survived the trip yet Don was planning to send them again

"Don't worry take this"

As he said, Don retrieved a couple of teleportation scrolls and tossed them towards Ken

"This will get you out of trouble if you come across any, you can also use them to get near where you want to go if you know the place"

As the man from the future, he knew about these scrolls as much as Don himself, these scrolls were stolen by Don and Knight from the ice emperor's palace in the divine continent during their adventuring days. The only thing that both Don and Ken didn't know about the scrolls is that they were created by the same people that made the bow of Arjuna which currently rests in Don's s.p.a.ce ring.

Since Aathreya had no chance to escape her prison and there was zero chance to face someone powerful and evil as she, Ken was confident that he would get the water spirit this time without failing his mission

"Arrora, plan your strategy with Arwen, I want more men to our army asap"

"As you wish"

"Your majesty, Can I check on Gael before I leave? I might be able to tell what's wrong with him"

"Yes, and Cat"

As he called, the little girl's silhouette appeared before Don

"Bring me Dhursir, I have something for him "

After a while, Dhursir, the old dwarf came to the throne hall covered in mud

"Forgive me, me king, I was building a machine ta plow our lands more quickly an' efficiently when ye called me"

"Couldn't tell"

Knight chuckled as the old man laughed realizing that he was covered in mud

"Here, take a look at this"

Don took the bow from his s.p.a.ce ring and when the bow appeared in his hand, the entire hall was covered with the aura that the bow is releasing

"Holy Berronar's beard! what be that me king?"

The bow of Arjuna was crafted of a flexible yet strong unknown metal and when he was lifting the bow up into the air, Don admired the exquisite balance, the elegant design as well as the curve of the limbs that somehow suggested the wings of some kind of strange bird extended in flight.

Even though Knight didnt like to use bows more often, he wanted to try this bow when he was able to transform. And on the other hand, Arrora decided to definitely ask Don to let her try the bow a couple of times but she had no idea that even if Don gave her the bow, she doesn't have the strength to lift the bow.
