MY KIND OF LOVE 6 Marry Me.

A woman wearing a plain blue dress walked into the restaurant. Even though the dress was rather ordinary, it fitted her well and showed her beautifully curved body.

"I am sorry I am late," her voice didn't sound apologetic at all.

"You don't have to be..." Replied the handsomely faced young man while giving her a smile. 

Then suddenly there was silence between them. The woman started to feel uncomfortable because the man who was sitting opposite her gave her an intensive look. She turned around to look for the waiter.

".. can I have a look at the menu?" 

Before the waiter replied the man answered, "I have already taken care of that,.. check if it's all ready"

"Yes sir." The waiter turned back and went to the kitchen.

Miray was surprised, 'what did he mean by I have already taken care of it?'. That was when she realised besides them, no one else was in the restaurant. There was silence between them again.  The man kept on staring at her and she decided to do the same, it was a fight she wasn't willing to lose. 

After a minute of having a stare battle the man let out a laugh and retreated his eyes. 

"It is true what they say about you, ...." 

Miray thought he meant all the rumours that were going on about her.

"Yes, you should run away as fast you can before it's too late." 

"Do I look like someone who runs away easily?" Again, he stared directly into her eyes. 

"I am not sure,... I haven't even started with you yet."

"Hahaha are you always this cold?" The man run his one hand through his hair, a move Miray thought was cool.

"You seem like someone with a lot of experience.." Miray laid back on her chair as she  crossed her arms and legs.

"Does that bother you?

"Why should it?" 

"Exactly, you don't seem like a woman who would have a lot of things to bother you.." the mockery in his voice made Miray angry.

"Mmmh is that the type of woman you think I am?"

"I think you are beautiful..." The man had a serious look on his face that showed his sincerity. Somehow the fact that the words came from him made Miray's heart skip a bit. 'Don't fall it,' before she knew it an internal conflict had started within her. 

"You lack good judgement.." a faint smile came on her face.

"Haha, how many guys have you been with? Or let's say how many guys have you slept with?"

'What???' Miray wanted to pour the gla.s.s of water that was next to her on him. But she reminded herself that, the story will be different the time old Yethu gets it and things would get ugly for her. 'I have to be cla.s.sy, I won't go psycho on him yet.' 

Miray let out a sigh and smiled, "I am a very beautiful woman. I do like to have my fun and satisfy my needs, I think you would know what I mean."

"So you agree that you are beautiful?" The man had a grin on his face, Miray had fallen into his trap. 

"Does it matter?"

"Shameless....Marry me..."

'Aaah, old Yethu, is this your way of punis.h.i.+ng me? How can you make me go on a date with such an arrogant man?' Miray wanted to burst out with rage but she controlled her emotions. She wasn't going to show an inch of her emotions to this man, no matter what she must win this battle. Suddenly her phone rang, it was a call from Joe. Miray wanted to answer the call when the man opposite her grabbed her hand and stopped her from answering it. 

"Why don't we eat first, the food will get cold.." The man pointed at the waiters who brought in the meal. 

The four course dinner was nicely planned out, Forrest restaurant was known to have the best chefs. Throughout their dinner they did not talk but only exchanged glances. After having dinner, Miray wanted to excuse herself to the bathroom to return her calls.

When she was about to stand up the man said, "I was serious about the marriage, think about it..."

"I don't think you can handle it.." and then she stood up and went to the ladies room.

Miray found missed calls from her Mother, Zain and Joe. After hesitating for a while, she made a phone call to Zain.

"Don't you think it's rude to call me when I am on a date?" 

"What date? Didn't mum call you?"

Miray remembered how her mother had been calling her. She thought Madam Yethu wanted to nag her for being late.

"She did, but I didn't pick up. What's up?" 

"Well your date, Terence, got into a car accident and he wanted to postpone the date till tomorrow..."

Miray wanted to dig a huge hole for herself. 'Did I just go on a date with the wrong person?? But he seemed like he knew me? Was he just playing with me.. Oooh this is too embarra.s.sing'. Miray felt like her head was spinning, something wasn't adding up! 

"Zaaiinnn..le...t... mee.. call you back,... Don't say anything to anyone, your life depends on it!." without waiting for a response, the line was cut.

What was she going to do? Miray stared at her reflection on the mirror trying to calm down when suddenly a phone call from Joe came up. Initially Miray wanted to ignore it but she picked it up.

"h.e.l.lo Joe.."

"b.u.t.terfly! what have been doing? I was almost going to track down your phone, I thought something happened. Should I send some boys to escort you around." a worried voice came up from the phone.

"No am alright, I was on a date,...my father set me up with someone and it's a huge mess, I will tell you about it when we meet.."

"Mmmh I hope he did not do anything to you, because you don't sound so good right now.."

After taking a deep breath, "yes, I am alright... I got on a wrong date, didn't know the guy, it's messed up but I will tell you about it later...."

"What have a taught you ?" Joe's voice switched into a serious tone.

"I know,.. I won't let anyone take advantage of me, umh so you were calling, what's up?" She changed the topic.

"I found out about Skylar Vandeers, apparently he hired someone to find out about you..."

"What? How come you didn't know about this?"

Everything that happened in the dark world of business, Joe knew about it. Especially if it was something that concerned Miray.

"Well he paid the man with a lot of money for silence, he knows about your connection to me so he was very careful... I took care of it though... I sent you an email about this guy with a pictures."

"I will call you as soon as I see it."

Miray opened her email and started going through the doc.u.ment. As her finger scrolled down, she stopped and stared at the picture. There was a slight resemblance in his eyes even though the image wasn't clear enough. The other image had a much clearer image..

'No way.' Miray couldn't believe her eyes.
