Gu Zihang half leaned against the car window. His tall and charming look had charmed many girls who came to Yirenfang for facial treatment.

Su Yurou’s eyes swept across the girls’ envious looks and the radian of her smile deepened.

She had such an outstanding husband! Let them be jealous!

When Gu Zihang heard from Su Yurou that Du Huimin wanted to see them, he couldn’t help frowning. To be honest, Gu Zihang was afraid of his strong mother.

Moreover, it was almost dinner time. Why couldn’t they have their dinner before going home? Why did she choose this time to talk to them?

“Yurou, did Mother tell you what the matter is?”

Su Yurou could see Gu Zihang’s hidden worries. She would normally have asked but when Du Huimin had called her just now, the beautician, Liu Jun, was beside her!

Gu Zihang knew Du Huimin disliked Su Yurou, so, his att.i.tude toward his mother was cold. He thought Su Yurou adapted to compromise with Du Huimin for his sake and had sacrificed lots.

Gu Zihang caressed Su Yurou’s hair pityingly and said softly, “Yurou, let’s go home first then. If you’re hungry, I’ll buy some dessert for you on the way.”

Su Yurou smiled thoughtfully. “No, thank you. Aren’t we going to Tianquan Street to have dinner? If I were to eat dessert now, I might not be able to eat later…”

Gu Zihang knew Su Yurou had small appet.i.te. So, he didn’t say anything. Instead, in a chivalrous manner, he opened the co-driver’s door for her to get in.

After a little more than twenty minutes, Gu Zihang drove and arrived at the Gu villa.

When Su Yurou and Gu Zihang entered the house, they felt the tense atmosphere inside.

All the servants were not around and the entire living hall was empty. Only Du Huimin was sitting on the sofa with a dull look. There was coldness which couldn’t be hidden in her eyes.

What on earth did Du Huimin, the old hag, want to say?

Doubts arose in Su Yurou’s heart. She held Gu Zihang’s hand tightly and wore a flawless and appropriate smile.

“Mother, sorry to keep you waiting. The traffic earlier was congested.”

Du Huimin examined Su Yurou. When she saw her smiling face, she smiled too but that smile sent s.h.i.+vers down people’s spines.

“Zihang, you’re home.”

Upon hearing this, Su Yurou felt awkward.

Su Yurou was the first to greet her just now but Du Huimin only mentioned her darling son and said ‘you’re home’ instead of ‘both of you are home’.”

Did this old hag have to humiliate her in front of her son?

There was tears in Su Yurou’s eyes. She looked at Gu Zihang and there was grievance in her eyes.

With heartache, Gu Zihang looked at Su Yurou. His palm brushed across Su Yurou’s hand, trying to comfort her.

Gu Zihang took a step forward and asked Du Huimin who was sitting on the sofa faintly, “Mother, why did you ask me and Yurou to come home now? What’s wrong?”

“What’s wrong?”

Du Huimin’s look changed suddenly. She stood up and saw Su Yurou and Gu Zihang holding hands. Then she repeated what Gu Zihang said sarcastically.

Gu Zihang could sense something amiss with Du Huimin’s tone but didn’t know why his mother was angry.

He gazed at Su Yurou helplessly and probed, “Mother, if there’s something you want to tell us, please tell us directly.”

Du Huimin’s heart hurt when she saw how Gu Zihang defended Su Yurou. She threw the hospital report in front of Gu Zihang.

“Take a look at this yourself!”

This was the first time Gu Zihang had ever seen Du Huimin so angry. He felt uncomfortable but dared not refute her. He merely bent down slightly to pick up the pile of paper.

Gu Zihang looked normal at first but after looking through a page, his face changed. Then, he pursed his lips tightly as frustration appeared between his brows.

When Su Yurou saw his look, she asked uneasily, “Zihang, what’s wrong? Can I take a look?”

Gu Zihang looked at Su Yurou steadily and there was a disappointment which could not be concealed in his eyes.

He shook off Su Yurou’s hand and his cold eyes hurt Su Yurou’s eyes.

“Mother, is what’s written here real?”

Gu Zihang was asking Du Huimin but his eyes were fixed on Su Yurou.

When Du Huimin saw that Gu Zihang was mentally and physically exhausted, she felt both heartache and pleasure. She spoke with sarcasm and wished Gu Zihang could see more of Su Yurou’s nature.

“Do you think I’d lie to you?”

Gu Zihang’s fingertips trembled and the pile of paper dropped onto the ground.

He looked carefully at Su Yurou with his extremely disappointed eyes, “Yurou…are you pregnant?”

Upon hearing this, Su Yurou faltered. Her eyes swept across the paper marked with the words Kang Ping Hospital. Her heart suddenly fell into a deep abyss.

She made a prompt decision to hold onto Gu Zihang’s hand. In a flash, her eyes were teary.

Gu Zihang saw Su Yurou’s teary look. His heart ached. That was right, what Su Yurou said was the truth.

“But why did you lie to me?”

Su Yurou’s beautiful eyes were filled with tears. “I just love you too much…”

Gu Zihang was in a dilemma but Du Huimin glanced coldly at the pitiful Su Yurou. Her look was extremely indifferent.

“Zihang, do you still want a woman who has deceived you? Divorce her!”

Hearing Du Huimin’s merciless words, Su Yurou’s eyes widened and she fainted, as if in great pain.

If she did not pretend to faint and allowed the old hag to continue talking, she was afraid that Gu Zihang would really be persuaded!

When Su Yurou fainted, Gu Zihang’s heartache got the better of him. Immediately, he carried Su Yurou upstairs.

Hearing Du Huimin’s cry, Gu Zihang replied without turning around, “Mother, I’ll think about whether to divorce her or not…”

Su Yurou woke up slowly. When Gu Zihang saw her teary look, he couldn’t bear to say anything at the moment.

Su Yurou knew this was the best time to persuade Gu Zihang. She held Gu Zihang’s hand with forbearance.

“Zihang, please don’t divorce me. It’s my fault. I’ll transfer half of the shares under my name to you. I really do love you!”
