Chapter 535 The sheer maternal love
“Hey, what are you doing? Jumping? Do you want to jump in the rain?” Jiang Jingcheng also arrived. After folding the umbrella, he saw Gu Yan jumping. It was funny, so he joked with her.
Jiang Jingcheng had worked with Gu Yan for a long time, and he knew her well. What he had seen most was her gentleness and intellectuality. She rarely showed her emotions, not overjoyed or extremely sad. She covered all the bases and treated everyone kindly, who struck her as a sincere woman. But there was always a barrier that kept him away from her mind.
Until he saw the kicking woman, whose movements made her whole soul come alive and more girlish, he felt that she was seemingly close to him.
Gu Yan was startled by the sudden sound. Looking up, she heard what Jiang Jingcheng said. She did not answer him, but stood by the door, and reached out her hand to catch the raindrops in a line, which filled her palms and then overflowed.
Gu Yan owned a special feeling for rainy day. She preferred it because of its languor, and disliked it because it was sticky. People might be more sentimental in rainy day. Watching the rain, she became a little sad somehow.
Jiang Jingcheng stood beside her and watched the rain and her staring at the rain quietly. Sadness was full of her eyes.
“Stop watching. Doesn’t the boss need to punch a clock? Then I have to go upstairs because I don’t want to be deducted wages.” Jiang Jingcheng noticed she was a little sad, and didn’t want her to become much depressed, so he interrupted her. And Gu Yan came to her sense.
There was nothing to be sad about. She was very happy now. So, she gave a smile and went inside without paying attention to Jiang Jingcheng standing motionless behind her. Gu Yan didn’t know that her smile seemed to be magical in his eyes. The dark clouds in his heart were all dispelled, even though it was still raining.
Probably for the bad weather, everyone was spiritless and speechless during the morning meeting. So, Gu Yan declared the meeting closed.
Backing to the office, Gu Yan turned on the water dispenser to heat water. Then she poured it into a cup, and kept in her hand. Her palms became warm. When the water was not too hot, she slowly drank it.
Then she started working. She turned on the computer and checked the email. As expected, she received an email from the organizer of the compet.i.tion. The email was more concise and only explained the design theme of the rematch. But the theme was even more vague, and was summed up with one word “Love”.
Gu Yan painfully smiled. It seemed broad, but in fact, the general theme was even harder to grasp. “Love” included the great love that the world belonged to all, the love between families, the love of lovers, the love of teachers and students, and the love between peers.
They were all not easy. But if she wanted to embody it, she must dissect it and understand it totally. Among them, which one did she really understand?
Gu Yan was worried that although the organizer gave a clear theme, it was too vague. What should she do?
She stopped thinking and forwarded this email to Jiang Jingcheng because she had no clue. He had so many quaint thoughts and maybe he could come up with some unique ideas for the theme.
When Jiang Jingcheng saw the email, he thought about it for a long time. How could their design be marvelous?
If he designed, it might be the “Love” for Gu Yan. But he got no chance to do so.
So, as for the theme “Love”, how to design an unconventional work?
He couldn’t get an idea, so he searched online for the works with similar theme. However, most of the design works emphasized the profound approach, and the designers would like to get off the beaten track. Few people would use “Love” directly as the theme, and the left several works were unsatisfactory, which Jiang Jingcheng disliked.
How to design? He was in deep thought, and his mind drifted away.
Gu Yan was also thinking what kind of design could embody “Love”? The love of lovers? She didn’t think it was a good idea.
Suddenly, an idea came to her. The love between mothers and their children! She was willing to give Mo Xiangyan everything she owned. She wanted him to be happy every day and grow up healthily. She wanted him to have no worries in his life and have the best in the world…
As a mother, Gu Yan was greedy. She had a feeling that having the best things in the world was not enough for Xiangyan, so she also wanted to get more for him. All mothers were greedy for their children.
Thinking about it, Gu Yan had a vague idea in her mind. Mothers always loved their children. Their love and sincere hope for their children were the most precious things in this world. This kind of pure, true and universal “Love” was the most precious feeling in the world. There was only love without desire.
Gu Yan made up her mind.
She decided to design based on the theme of maternal love, but she needed to tell Jiang Jingcheng. So, she stood up and went to Jiang Jingcheng’s office.
“I want to use maternal love as the theme of the design. How about that? Do you think it is good?” After entering his office, Gu Yan asked his opinions at once. She had always been straightforward about work.
“Why do you come up with this idea?” Jiang Jingcheng wondered. What was her maternal love to eulogize?
“I think the love of lovers is vulgar, but maternal love is relatively pure and not utilitarian. It is pure and great, which is better to master. And I feel that love of lovers is too vague to be specific.” Gu Yan didn’t know how to tell him her feeling to Mo Xiangyan.
After all, Jiang Jingcheng had no child and couldn’t understand the anxiety and joy of being a father. It was indescribable. No mother could preach her great maternal love by her usual behaviors, but raising children was always great.
For her words, Jiang Jingcheng couldn’t understand. But since she made up her mind, she was totally sure of it. She was never sloppy about her job, let alone the compet.i.tion she valued most.
The maternal love? He would wait and see.
