It was no big deal for someone of around a hundred years old to be a seventh-level stellaminor, but Lin Xiuzhu knew that it was no laughing matter, either. That cultivation definitely qualified Tianming to be a worthy opponent. "You guys, take care of the wondermancer. Leave Lin Feng to me."

The other seven disciples that were still in the fight were older than Lin Xiuzhu, but they heeded his orders nonetheless. Together, they all converted their lifebound beasts into swordbeasts. Their swords pulsed with power, manifesting many of the traits of their beasts and allowing them to use their abilities in their sword strikes. With that, they were fully able to cut apart the black stone slabs and bisected any that came flying their way.

"Lin Guiyu, Lin Huahao, Lin Lingyao, focus on paving a path and covering Lin Hongguang and I as we charge in!" Lin Mingzhi, the most senior of them, ordered. "Lin s.h.i.+yun, take care of Lin Xiaoxiao and stop her from taking potshots at us. She isn’t that strong! Lin Yahan, cut down that tree!"

The tasks were quickly delegated. "Got it!" The seven of them quickly spread out, having identified the key points of Tianming's fighting formation. Lin Mingzhi, Lin Hongguang, Lin s.h.i.+yun, and Lin Yahan were all eighth level. Lin s.h.i.+yun happened to be Lin Zhongyu's elder sister, and seeing her little brother being heavily injured by Xiaoxiao's arrow had made the red-clad girl incredibly furious. She locked on to Xiaoxiao and zeroed in on her, swordbeast-infused blade in hand.

"Taking potshots, eh? Let's see how you survive this, so-called infinitum-cla.s.s genius!" Lin s.h.i.+yun surged with power and swung her blade, sending out the abilities of her five swordbeasts to bolster her own strike.

"Hmph." Xiaoxiao drew her bow while she expressionlessly stood on the Archaionfiend in the air. "Wu You, if you show him how well you're performing, you'll definitely get your eye back."

"Got it." The Archaionfiend smirked at the sight of their foe and flapped its wings to gain more alt.i.tude as countless blood-colored bolts gathered in its scales, charging them up. The brand-new ability was like an electrified formation that spread out and covered the entire battlefield in an instant. Crimson lightning bolts turned into winged electric snakes that flew all around and slammed into every foe they could see, Lin Xiuzhu included. The entire battlefield was dyed red.

"Agh!" Lin Xiuzhu included, all ten of them cried out in pain—even including their swordbeasts! The ability targeted their souls, giving each and every one of them a hard time fending off the electric snakes. There were millions of them near Lin s.h.i.+yun alone, keeping her busy and causing her to take an arrow to her knee.

"Agh!" she growled. While that didn't affect her combat capabilities much, it was still incredibly embarra.s.sing. The suppression from the stone slabs and Perpetia's s.p.a.cetime control made her have an even harder time avoiding the incoming barrage. Before she had even been able to approach Xiaoxiao, she was already swooping around like a kite in a storm.

"How is it? Cool, right?" Xiaoxiao continued shooting as her beast flew her around. No matter how powerful her foes were, as long as they couldn't touch her, there wouldn't be a point. Not to mention, she had ample support. The Grand Dao Thousand Words greatly limited the moves of the enemy lifebound beasts, giving Ying Huo and the rest even more room to maneuver and help her.

Xian Xian used its most powerful ability, Ghoulface Fiendblossom, scattering cherry blossom flowers all over the place. Each of them had the face of a ghoul etched into them. The moment they touched flesh, they began parasitizing their victims and sucking away their lifeforce. Coupled with its roots, vines, and other floral abilities, the enemies had a good reason to focus on cutting it down first.

Lin s.h.i.+yun had failed to take care of Xiaoxiao, and Lin Yahan, the other female eighth-level stellaminor, didn't fare any better. Ying Huo, Meow Meow, Lan Huang, and Yin Chen had their fun with her, completely hampering her ability to approach Xian Xian. Lin Yahan didn't even bother giving them the time of day, however, convinced by the dogma of her clan that lifebound beasts that couldn't turn into swordbeasts were complete trash.
