The terrifying speed at which Tianming took out Qiu Ciling showed that he was even stronger than Huang Daoxiong. In other words, he was the strongest on the Skyward Grandpath. The sight of brute violence startled the audience, convincing them of Tianming's myriad capabilities. Eventually, they became utterly floored by the true extent of his prowess.

The outer mundi geniuses who had been spectating the whole time cheered pa.s.sionately for Tianming. They called out his name nonstop, all too happy to call him their representative. He was the one who had helped them vent their frustrations!

Huang Daoxiong and Chu Tianyu were even more dumbfounded. They didn't want to let either one kill the nightmare rabbit, so they kept each other occupied enough, each blocking the other when they tried to launch a fatal strike on the beast. But they didn't think that Tianming would send Qiu Ciling flying off in such a short time!

"What?" Before Chu Tianyu and Huang Daoxiong could react, they heard a large commotion behind them. Turning around, they saw a storm closing in on them.

"Stop him!" The two of them stopped fighting and charged toward Tianming. Right as they were about to strike, Tianming's abilities automatically launched and sought out their targets, blocking their way.

"I choose you!" Tianming couldn't be bothered with the two who were dragging things out that long. He descended from the sky with full power, using the fusion strike of the Imperator's Mural, forming a great sword projection that came slas.h.i.+ng down!

Huang Daoxiong and Chu Tianyu closed in on his flanks. Tianming used the Xia words to push Chu Tianyu back while he used his black arm to block Huang Daoxiong's fierce punch. While Huang Daoxiong's force shook Tianming's body and crushed part of it, Tianming still managed to hold on and keep his sword swinging toward the nightmare rabbit!

The beast launched soul attacks on Tianming that would be fatal even with the Skysoul Tower's protection. Its desperate struggle shook his astral brain. "Ouch!"

His eyes blacked out and he felt extreme pain in his brain. However, that in turn managed to dispel the black smog that had taken him over. Due to the severe damage to his brain's astrons, however, his vita had been damaged to an extent.

Fortunately, he managed to grit his teeth and keep his attack going, striking the beast for good! The sword projection's power surged, sending all the destructive energies into the nightmare rabbit. It shrieked in pain and was vaporized on the spot, exploding into so much flesh and blood that it sent Tianming flying into the air.

"Ouch! It hurts like h.e.l.l!" He blacked out again and his vision blurred. He was confident that he had killed the nightmare rabbit, but he hadn't expected a final b.o.o.by trap from it right before its death. It felt like his head was filled with blood! "I still really need Sixth!"

Though it was frustrating, he had no choice in the matter. He didn't have time to think it through as people were wildly cheering and calling out his name. He opened his eyes and looked skyward.

"Holy c.r.a.p, 1.2 million points. I must’ve broken a record on the Skyward Grandpath, eh? It's starting to feel like a little too much." Tianming's evil impulses had receded and his excitement faded away as clarity returned to him. He was still in a precarious situation even after achieving what he wanted, since he had killed Huang Jihuang. Defeating the monstrous geniuses had felt exhilarating, but he had to stay calm!

"My mind is still a bit of a blur and my combat prowess has been affected," he a.s.sessed. He heard quite a lot of angry roars, chief among which came from the nearby Chu Tianyu and Huang Daoxiong. "They're going to kill me!"

He had the points for the nightmare rabbit, but the other two still wanted to get first place. There was only one way to do that now: killing him. Defeating and sparing him wasn't an option!

"This amount of points should be enough for me to find a good backer, right? My head still hurts, so I might not necessarily be able to defeat the two of them. Let's go to the end of the Skyward Grandpath."

Those were the rules of the trial. One had to be able to take the points to the end of the path to have them count. There were still two hours left before the exit would open; before that, it was a free-for-all. Quite a few people were already waiting near the exit.

"Even if I have no choice but to fight, I need time to recover for a bit." Tianming immediately turned around and charged toward the exit with the speed afforded to him by Xian Xian and Lan Huang.

"Halt!" Huang Daoxiong roared. He sounded like he had gone mad with fury.

Tianming felt like he was being chased by a bunch of beasts. Eventually, the injury to his vita and astral brain fully healed. "The exit’s just over there!"

He looked up and saw a light at the end of the astral fog. He had estimated that two hours was about the time he needed to reach the exit. Once he did, the 1.2 million points would be his and he would secure his position in first place. He ignored his two desperate pursuers, but if they really tried to challenge him one-on-one, he wouldn't fear either of them.

Quite a lot of other partic.i.p.ants were also beginning to head to the exit. The longer the chase went on, the madder Huang Daoxiong became. As a specter, he possessed greater speed and had long since thrown Chu Tianyu behind him. But the exit was just about to open up, and Tianming had reached it first.

After he checked, he realized that he still had fifteen minutes left. He had arrived a bit too soon. Huang Daoxiong was also just about to reach it as well, as was clearly apparent from the rising dust and smoke he left in his wake. There were quite a few people who hadn't made it onto the ranking who were waiting by the exit, but none of them dared to approach Tianming, nor each other. By now, it was almost certain that the current ranking was the final one. Their destinies would forever change in a mere fifteen minutes.

"Li Tianming, you’re dead!" Huang Daoxiong charged in front of him like an angry lion. Looking ahead, he broke out laughing. "Haha! The door isn't open yet! The heavens want you dead, understood?!"

Tianming shot him a cold look and smirked. "You're wrong. The heavens want me to show you what it's like to be dominated." His injuries had completely recovered, so he no longer feared Huang Daoxiong at all.
