Tianming's strike came down at full force. Even before breaking through, he had been able to completely defeat Huang Daoxiong. However, he had grown even stronger, with his beasts evolving to have 4.5 million stars! And all of their capabilities were concentrated in his body. Huang Daoxiong was alone and his cosmic charts could not possibly endure the killing blow.

"Aaaaaagh...." He died mired in fear and regret. His golden myriadpath ring went flying and suddenly dimmed. Even though the color of the rings determined almost everything in Myriadpath Valley, there were situations where it simply wouldn't fly. That gold was nothing but a joke before Tianming, with more than a dozen gold ring holders having died by his hand.

The most shocking thing was how he had managed to slaughter them even with two elite bodyguards chasing him around! Not even Huang Daoxiong could be protected from his wrath. Li Fan was completely stupefied by the events that had transpired and couldn't say a single thing any longer.

In the next instant, Tianming avoided Tao Ying's fatal strike, but was still rammed into by Zhao Ge. He slammed into the inner wall of the astrals.h.i.+p with so much force that it cracked the wall. Even with his tough body, he still coughed out blood and his cosmic charts were shaken.

"The gap between me and those two is still far too wide." Tianming fully admitted that, but they wouldn't be able to keep hurting him any longer. He used Fiveway Blitzrun and immediately disappeared as Tao Ying and Zhao Ge tried closing the gap. They shrieked in frustration, but there was simply nothing they could do about it!

Tianming had managed to escape their grasp many times with Fiveway Blitzrun. After killing those that he should, he couldn't be bothered fighting the two servants of House Huang. They were powerful, but their statuses couldn't compare to Huang Daoxiong's; there was no point in fighting them.

"Go back and report to Reverend Daolie that I’m not the weakling he thinks I am. I couldn't care less for offending House Huang. Kill me if you can!" Right after that, he charged out of the divine astrals.h.i.+p. The s.h.i.+p hadn't flown far from the Myriadpath Celestial Formation. When Zhao Ge and Tao Ying followed him out of the s.h.i.+p, they saw Tianming transferring away to who-knows-where using the formation.

"Zhao Ge...." Tao Ying shuddered while gritting her teeth. "Won’t the reverend kill us in a fit of rage if we go back just like that?"

Zhao Ge himself was also afraid. He turned back to his humanoid form and revealed a face pale with fear. "It’s extremely likely.... But our parents are still in Myriadpath Valley. What can we do about it? Let's hope the reverend's rage can be quelled! We’ve done our very best."

"Let's ask my parents' opinion about it first," Tao Ying said. They could do naught but exchange glances and sigh.

Huang Daoxiong and the other disciples had been weaknesses they couldn't have done anything about. They had no choice but to swallow their qualms for now.

"My parents asked us to go back," Tao Ying said after receiving a reply from her transmission stone.

"Phew!" Zhao Ge breathed a sigh of relief. At least their lives would be spared.

Tianming flew back to the Myriadpath Celestial Formation. Li Fan's weak cosmic chart was only able to remain intact thanks to the grand lexicon wonder. By now, the black smog had receded from Tianming's eyes. He sympathetically smiled at Li Fan and said, "It really sucks, huh, for the body you worked so hard to rebuild to be crushed again."

"Who else can I blame but you?" Li Fan's cosmic chart was painful to even look at.

"I saved you, Brother. Don't get c.o.c.ky," Tianming said with a shrug. After a pause, he continued, "Hey! Didn't you agree to call me 'Grandpa' after I killed them? It's time to fulfill your promise. We have the same surname anyway, so you can keep yours. I’ll adopt you as my grandson."

"I—I You really are insane to dare to kill the eldest son of a reverend, not to mention the other gold-ring disciples! If you're able to keep living in Myriadpath Valley after that, I'll let you use my head as a chamberpot!" Li Fan felt like he would go mad every time he recalled what had happened.

"Eww, no. I won't use your head for hygienic reasons." Tianming seemed completely listless about the entire ordeal as he turned and looked in Myriadpath Valley's direction. Li Fan considered it for a while. "Honestly, I started off as your enemy, and now I'm no longer useful to you as a minion. You might as well kill me to save the trouble."

"Why can't I go to other mundi? I could just return home."
