When Chen Fu came to the Jiang Mansion to pa.s.s on the message with the servants, Gu Chaoyan was engaged in reading the book of The Anecdote of Saint Divine. She barely had time to read fun books in her previous life, but now she managed to read a lot at Jiang Mansion.

The Anecdote of Saint Divine was a recording book that contained lots of interesting stories, including the events happening in history.

She was reading as she told Qing a story about a beggar. Then the two of them laughed loudly under the shadows.

Seeing Chen Fu, Gu Chaoyan folded the book, stopped laughing and asked with a soft tone, “What is going on, for you to be here all of a sudden?”

Chen Fu was feeling very relaxed in front of Elder Miss. He answered calmly, “Lord Yu is at the mansion asking for you. Old Master asked me to get you home.”

As Zhou Huaiyu was mentioned, Gu Chaoyan patted her own head. She almost forgot about this – back at Saint College, Zhou Huaiyu asked her if he should deliver the money to the Gu Mansion and she agreed. However, she had not expected that she would end up being at the Jiang Mansion instead.

Well, the money was very important after all they had won lots of money through the bet!

Sword One and Qing helped to put away the stuff and left with Gu Chaoyan.

Seeing that they were having a relaxing and easy time at the Jiang Mansion, Chen Fu found that all was better here.

Chen Fu felt that Elder Miss should stay at the Jiang Mansion and never go home, but he did not dare to utter a word of those thoughts.

“Let’s go, Mr. Chen.” Gu Chaoyan reminded him after seeing Chen Fu’s transfixed expression.

“Okay.” Chen Fu answered and followed up.

No flowers were planted at the Jiang Mansion, which was covered by bamboo. Compared to the colorful scene at the Gu Mansion, this place seemed much nicer.

As they walked past the bamboo, they saw the Housekeeper and told him what happened, then they left together.

The wagon to pick her up was of great quality.

Gu Chaoyan a.s.sumed that the Gu Mansion was just putting on a show for the Jiang Mansion to offer such a great wagon that was normally only available for Gu Zhenkang and Gu Ruxue.

The Jiang Mansion and the Gu Mansion were not very far from each other, so they arrived within one hour.

When Gu Chaoyan had just stepped into the hall, Zhou Huaiyu almost came to the Qiong Pavilion where Gu Chaoyan was living. He was about to go inside when the servants told them that Elder Miss was home. Zhou Huaiyu gave up his curiosity and went to meet her. In the meanwhile, Gu Xiuying let out a sigh of relief.

She was not stupid enough to tell the Lord that her sister was living in a shabby place like this.

Zhou Huaiyu threw a dubious look at Gu Xiuying, wondering what made her so relaxed. Was he giving her such a huge pressure? Never mind. He hurried off.

Gu Chaoyan was still dressed in a plain blouse. When Zhou Huaiyu entered, she was sipping tea, but did not seem to be pleased by the taste of it. She frowned slightly and put down the teacup.

Seeing Zhou Huaiyu walking into the room, Gu Zhenkang got up instantly. “Lord, here is the girl.”

Zhou Huaiyu nodded.

Gu Zhenkang turned to Gu Chaoyan with displeasure. “Serve the lord tea!”
