Chapter 25: The Most Important Thing Was Her Partic.i.p.ation

Shen Xi’s deskmate, Pei Xu was absent again.

Song Wenye sat on Pei Xu’s seat, propped herself up on the desk and eyed Shen Xi. She had an obsession with beauty and loved to look at handsome boys and pretty girls. It was simply not enough for her.

“Focus on your studies.” Shen Xi knocked on her desk.

Song Wenye grinned foolishly. “Lil Xixi, are you taking part in the dancing compet.i.tion because of Su Ruowan?”

Shen Xi did not hide her true intention. “Yes.”

Song Wenye was curious. “I heard that you caused her to break her leg and she couldn’t partic.i.p.ate in it anymore. Is that true?”

Shen Xi replied, “False.”

Song Wenye displayed a knowing expression. “I knew it! It must be fake. She fell down on her own and blamed it on you. Diabolical!”

Lil Xixi was so beautiful and would never do such a thing. That c*nt Su Ruowan must be jealous of her stunning beauty!

Shen Xi murmured a response and handed her a list. “I have something else that requires your help.”

Song Wenye had a look at it. It was a list of compet.i.tions in which Su Ruowan and Su Mus.h.i.+ were involved in. She gulped. “Are you sure?”

Shen Xi inched closer and whispered into her ear, “Absolutely.”

Song Wenye’s heart skipped a beat. She was screaming internally, “Lil Xixi’s teasing me, teasing me!”

Shen Xi smiled. “Thanks, once it’s done, I’ll treat you to a meal.”

Song Wenye felt concerned. “But, Lil Xixi, your results are poorer than mine. You’ll embarra.s.s yourself if you partic.i.p.ate in these compet.i.tions.”

Shen Xi reacted with a smile. There was pride in her icy gaze. “Poor students will not always remain as poor students.”

“Fine, I’ll take care of it.” Song Wenye saw the confidence and determination in Shen Xi’s eyes. The latter seemed to be glowing.

At this moment, regardless of what others thought, she truly believed that Shen Xi would be able to defeat Su Mus.h.i.+ and Su Ruowan.

The students of the international cla.s.s never imagined that Shen Xi would succeed in being accepted by the cla.s.s so quickly. Yesterday, she was on good terms with Alpha Xu; Today, she was on good terms with Song Wenye.

As long as these two students accepted her, the rest of the cla.s.s had to accept her as one of their own. Bullying her was akin to bullying the international cla.s.s.

The Song family was a family of scholars and intellectuals.

Song Wenye’s grandfather was the current Director of the Ministry of Education. His students were highly accomplished in multiple fields and were located in all parts of the world.

The authorities of Capital No. 4 High School had to give face to Song Wenye due to her relations.h.i.+p with her grandfather.

Apart from the compet.i.tions that were already in the semi-finals and finals, they added Shen Xi’s name to the list of partic.i.p.ants.

Everyone in the international cla.s.s thought that Shen Xi had gone mad. She should be aware that, with her results, she was no match for the other partic.i.p.ants. She ought to be like her cla.s.smates, instead of taking part in those compet.i.tions and ending up embarra.s.sing herself!

Still, it was her choice. Even if she got the last place or got eliminated in the first round, Shen Xi was still a member of the international cla.s.s. Friends.h.i.+p came first, and the most important thing was that she partic.i.p.ated in those compet.i.tions.

Shen Xi signed up for ten events, including the English debate, Mathematical Olympiad and compet.i.tions related to physics, chemistry, biology, computers, dance, piano, and violin and cello.

Students would compete with their peers from other high schools in the country in the academic compet.i.tions, whereas the performing arts compet.i.tions were held at the national level.

The events spanned a long time, too. They took place from now until April next year, with an average of two events per month.

Shen Xi had planned her schedule. She would take part in those compet.i.tions openly and triumph over Su Ruowan and Su Mus.h.i.+. The very idea of it excited her.
