Chapter 104: Breakthrough into Level Eight
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
w.a.n.g Yang did not say anything more. In truth, it was not just them. Any sect or clan with even a bit of history or lineage was laying low—all of them were hidden dragons waiting to strike.
That was because all of them knew that they sorely lacked the ability to resist the Huaxia government as they were at the moment, but things might change in the future.
As the restoration of spirit qi became more p.r.o.nounced, their abilities would only grow, so much so it would have been normal for them to achieve progress by leaps and bounds in a very short period of them.
It was more than spirit qi that was being restored; there was also the case with the shackles on their abilities.
Cultivation was difficult not only because of the problem with the abundance of spirit qi, but there was also the limitation put on them by the world itself. The Soul-s.n.a.t.c.her Sect had only been biding their time so far. The frightening progress achieved over the past several years was a sign of the world gradually removing such limitations on them.
Their more profound their cultivation had been, the more p.r.o.nounced they felt about such effects.
It was due to such happenings that Tian Han had been so boastful, claiming that he would not even have to be wary of the Special Task Force if they were to just hang on for few more years. If they were to be able to get to the level of their founder, they would not have even needed to care about firearms at all.
It would be the time where they would reign supreme.
“Regardless, the kid is still a National Guardian, so he is definitely something, and we’ll definitely need to be careful,” w.a.n.g Yang said plainly. “But then again, given that he was the one who killed the young Sectmaster, we need to get rid of him regardless of who he is. People will think we’re pushovers, otherwise.”
“You’re right about that. Only by dealing with him can we could face the Sectmaster when he emerges out of isolation.” Tian Han continued, “You all can be rest a.s.sured about that. I knew someone who trained in ancient Thai martial arts in Thailand, whose powers rivaled that of mine. A good time to get him on board, and it’ll be a breeze for the three of us to take him down.”
w.a.n.g Yang then said, “In that case, bring him in at once.”
Two days quickly pa.s.sed.
Lu Xuan was sitting cross-legged in a secret guest room in the Ling Clan’s estate. Spiritual Qi ebbed all over him, and smoke billowed above his head.
He opened his eyes, and there seemed to be lightning crackling within his eyes, s.h.i.+mmering with a terrifying sheen.
Lu Xuan gradually exhaled moments later, retracting the glow he had about him.
He had actually made the breakthrough the day before, and the breakthrough from Level Seven to Level Eight was not all that difficult for him.
It felt as if he was just going with the flow.
He had been polis.h.i.+ng his level back at Level Seven all too well, so a breakthrough was bound to happen sooner or later.
It was due to him having suppressed his level all that while that he could not break through right away.
With the impending great battle to come, however, he no longer had the luxury to keep doing so.
Level Eight.
His prowess reached the realm of the G.o.ds.
At such a level in one’s cultivation of fighting arts, one was known to be G.o.dlike.
He had truly broken through the limitations put on him back at Level Seven National Guardian level, reaching a surreal state of being.
However, it was after getting that far that he began to vaguely sense the limitations of the world itself.
It was a shackle that had no form, one that kept him from advancing to Level Nine.
It was as if he had touched the ceiling.
Lu Xuan was no stranger to such feelings. It was the Suppression by the World told in legends.
The world had long been restored when Lu Xuan first embarked on his journey of cultivation in his past life, so he never encountered such problems, but that did not mean that he knew nothing of such concepts.
The restoration happening to the world was like a pool that was expanding. There was no way for beings exceeding the pool’s capacity to house to exist before the pool was further enlarged.
He was apparently at Level Eight Deity at his present stage.
In other words, the strongest being to exist in the world would probably be Level Eight Deities. After Lu Xuan was reincarnated, he had finally become among the strongest to be found in the world after several months of hard work, becoming one amongst the handful of superhumans in the world.
He was considered invincible at the moment.
His knowledge and experience regarding the measures and workings of cultivation made him confident that he was still the strongest even among any Deities currently found in the world.
The next breakthrough could have only been possible when the world mutated further. It was only then that the restoration to the world would be sufficiently strong to house Level Nine cultivators, beings who surpa.s.sed those of Level Eight.
The only thing for Lu Xuan to do was simply to prepare himself better before the time comes.
“Deity level. This should do for the time being.”
Lu Xuan rose after having sensed someone break into the estate.
“So, they’re finally here.”
Boom!
The gates of the estate, which were only recently repaired, were kicked down by one single kick. The gates made of high-strength alloys were kicked down as if they were made of cardboard.
A group of people walked into the place right there and then. There were three leading figures among them. One was dressed camouflage attire, looking like some warlord. He also held a gun. There was another who looked like an amicable old man. There was another fighter very well-versed in Thai martial arts.
Every single person behind them ebbed with ferocious aura.
Ling Huang and s.h.i.+ Danze, who were both standing beside Lu Xuan, looked severe.
All other people of the Ling Clan had moved elsewhere beforehand, and there was hardly anyone left in the estate.
None of them would have been of any use back in the estate after all.
“Three National Guardians, eh?”
s.h.i.+ Danze felt a chill run down his spine, and his mouth dried up.
He sensed that all three leading figures were at the National Guardian level, and there were also several Martial Arts Legends behind them. All the others were Baodan Grandmasters and HuaJin Masters.
The worst scenario that he had antic.i.p.ated was nowhere that bad. Lu Xuan said that he intended to round them all up and deal with them all at once, but it seemed, at the moment, that there was no telling who would actually be the one to be dealt with.
The scene was so terrifying that he even had the urge to run, but he knew that running was not an option; otherwise, Lu Xuan would kill him on the spot with a single thought.
Ling Huang sensed an overwhelming terror was.h.i.+ng all over them like a tidal wave.
He was only a common folk, and there was no way he was able to handle the pressure from so many formidable fighters.
However, he quickly sensed the overwhelming pressure dispelled. Lu Xuan made a move, dispersing all that pressure that filled the air around them.
He had actually dispersed all that pressure single-handedly.
“Familiar faces, and it seems like the Soul-s.n.a.t.c.her Sect is going all out on this one, indeed.”
Lu Xuan took one look at the lineup. Given the sect’s current level of restoration and Lu Xuan’s estimation, the lineup would have probably been the strongest the sect was able to gather.
That was the very reason why he chose to let that man with sharp features escape. He did so for the very purpose of rounding up the strongest people of the sect scattered all over the world so that he was able to deal with them all in one go.
He was familiar with both w.a.n.g Yang and Tian Han, but they appeared a lot younger than he remembered them to be.
Tian Han and the other two set their sights on Lu Xuan as well, knowing full well that he was the target of the current operation.
He was the man who killed their young Sectmaster.
“I see that you’ve brought many here, but why is your Sectmaster—Qiu Zhen—around? Is he just gonna let his son die in vain?” Lu Xuan asked calmly.
