Chapter 153: Everyone was Making Great Progress

With the formation to protect the mountain being laid in place, Lu Xuan was finally able to rest easy.
He had basically used up all the spirit stones he had looted from the Song Clan’s estate, as well those he had acquired for the Special Task Force, just to lay that ma.s.sive formation in place.
However, Lu Xuan deemed all those expenses worth it.
Other than his family, Zhang Hongyang, s.h.i.+ Danze, and Ding Zhuxuan were given the jade pieces for accessing the villa as well.
There were also servants and bodyguards who were allowed access, and all of them had been carefully selected from Zhang Hongyang’s sect. All of them were proven to be loyal people.
But then again, it was not like there were many of there who would have dared to do Lu Xuan’s family any harm anymore, not after all that had happened before.
People would have usually beaten the dog before the lion as an act of warning. In Lu Xuan’s case, however, he opted to kill the lion instead.
“If you run into extreme danger that’s more than you can handle, just crush the jade pieces. The broken pieces will then form a barrier to protect you all. I’ll be able to sense what happened and make my way to you guys as quickly as I can,” Lu Xuan reminded them.
All of them only knew that the jade pieces, which looked simple and una.s.suming, had such uses as well.
It was especially so in the case of Zhang Hongyang, s.h.i.+ Danze, and Ding Zhuxuan. Unlike Lu Xuan’s family, they had been in the world of cultivators long enough to know just how precious those jade pieces actually were.
“Bro, the jade is rather warm. Just putting it on seems to have enabled me to work better with Spiritual Qi.” Lu Shanshan was very surprised to find just how quickly she became able to work her Spiritual Qi. “At this rate, I’ll be able to make a breakthrough into the National Guardian Level before long!”
The crowd all went on to sense the jade pieces seriously after hearing what Lu Shanshan said, and they were indeed truly able to sense the articulation of their Spiritual Qi becoming a lot faster.
While the improvement was only about 30 percent, and it did not seem to be much at the moment, but in time, the acc.u.mulated benefits would have been staggering.
It was especially so given how all of them had grown considerably over the past three months and became way more powerful than they had once been.
Zhang Hongyang was naturally the strongest after Lu Xuan, who had been able to make a breakthrough from being a National Guardian into becoming a Deity. His powers saw exponential enhancement, and he was no longer the same person as before.
While only months pa.s.sed, there had been quite an increase of Deity level cultivators compared to just several months ago.
There were already Ming Yueyao, the Chief of the Special Task Force, and Master Bushuo, and the abbot of the Southern Shaolin Temple having made it through to Level Eight Deity Level in Min Province alone.
But then again, one could still count the number of Deity level cultivators in the province on the one hand.
Zhang Hongyang’s disciples, s.h.i.+ Danze and Ding Zhuxuan, saw frightening progress over the past few months as well, becoming National Guardians in very short periods of time. This made them some of the top-notch beings in the province.
While the other disciples of his had, of course, not seen that much growth, they made progress nonetheless, and there were already Martial Arts Legends among the strongest ones among them.
Zhang Hongyang himself felt really impressed and complicated. His sect saw significant progress in combat prowess within just little more than half a year’s time.
When Zhang Hongyang came to kill Lu Xuan half a year ago, he had been but a Martial Arts Legend, yet even the Martial Arts Legends among all of his disciples were no longer even considered the most powerful at the moment, with two of them having become National Guardians.
He had also made a breakthrough and became a Deity.
If someone were to tell him that he would have grown that much half a year ago, he would have dismissed the notion entirely.
Yet, he was actually able to reach this level so easily just half a year later.
There absolutely was n.o.body in his sect’s history who had made it as far as he had.
All those achievements were made possible simply because he served the right master.
While both men were already at Deity Level at the moment, Lu Xuan appeared even more mysterious. He had not been able to sense something that profound when he was back at National Guardian Level because the gap between them had been so huge that he was unable to sense anything much.
It was only after he had made the breakthrough about a month ago that he vaguely realized that Lu Xuan’s powers seemed to be growing every day.
While the progress was not all that apparent, it was nonetheless astounding for someone at Lu Xuan’s level.
It was also after he had made a breakthrough into Deity Level that he realized that the rush of making one breakthrough after another had thoroughly subsided. There seemed to be a barrier in the world, preventing them from making further progress.
It was a harrowing thing to know that Lu Xuan’s training kept making progress every day, even under such circ.u.mstances.
He had even wondered if it would have been possible for Lu Xuan to break through into Level Nine before the shackle from the world was gone.
If that were to happen, things would have indeed taken a horrifying turn.
It would have been like how it was in the legends.
Zhang Hongyang understood the inherent gap between him and the master he served. He was simply moving with the flow, walking along the trail that had been blazed by someone else. Lu Xuan was something else altogether, and that was what made him such a rare being, as he was the trailblazer.
It was precisely due to that that not only did he not look down on Lu Xuan after becoming a Deity, but he even respected Lu Xuan more.
He was able to feel that if he were to fight Lu Xuan, he would not be able to take more than three moves even though the two of them were on the same level.
Lu Xuan would overwhelm him in mere seconds.
While he had no idea why he thought this, he trusted his own intuition, and the intuition of cultivators worked a lot better than objective evidence of any kind for the most part.
Other than Zhang Hongyang, the one who made the most progress for the past several months was Lu Xuan’s mother, Liu Wanrong.
She actually managed to make it to become a National Guardian within mere months, and she only needed a chance, an opportunity, or an encounter to break through into Deity level.
Lu Xuan’s father, Lu Tianxiang, and his little sister, Lu Guoguo, had already developed Level Six Martial Arts Legend powers as well.
With Lu Xuan being the teacher, it was utterly impossible to slow one’s cultivation down instead.
While they were quite some distance away from the top-notch fighters, they had only been training for mere months. When compared to those who had trained for years or even decades, their progress made it seem like they were riding on a rocket.
Lu Xuan found all that progress satisfactory. If they were to continue to make such progress, catching up to top-notch cultivators would have only been a matter of time, and they had finally become able to hold their own against some malicious beings out there.
Furthermore, with Zhang Hongyang taking care of the place, and with a maze laid out, things could not have been safer for Lu Xuan’s family.
While formidable fighters were abundant all over the world, they were not abundant to the extent where any one of them was just a stone’s throw away.
His family would be able to basically hold their own and beat a lot of people out there. Lu Shanshan, for example, despite having transferred to a new school, was able to become an alpha figure in her new school.
While she had been putting a lot of effort into staying low key, her powers, ironically, had forbidden her to do so.
That moment of breakthrough that Lu Xuan had been waiting for was finally there as well.
