Chapter 462: Lu Xuan’s Reappearance
Despite having the three of them standing at the very forefront of the line of defense, they still learned of what it meant to have one’s hands being full when dealing with the seemingly endless waves of demons.
However, they were not about to give up just yet.
Roar!
The leader of the fallen angels roared at the sky while holding its heavy sword, cutting down a line of defense of the Yunxuan Villa right away by sending Zhang Hongyang’s disciples flying.
Had it not been for the protective talismans they wore on them, they would have probably ended up bisected right away.
Even though they managed to survive, over a dozen talismans were burned away in the process.
One could tell that they would have most likely ended up dead if they didn’t have enough of those talismans on them.
Fortunately, the Yunxuan Villa itself was a manufacturer of charms and talismans. Disciples from that place had all kinds of such items on them: the Strength Talismans were for boosting power, the Protection Talismans were for enhancing defense, and the Agility Talismans were for increasing speed. It was all thanks to those seemingly endless supply of talismans that the personnel of the villa was able to defend the place from the demons despite being vastly outnumbered.
However, the battle still looked bleak.
Boom!
That specter of the devil that Yun Ling’er was riding on was cut down by that leader of the fallen angels with a single swing of the sword, causing her to fall from the sky.
Roar!
That leader then roared and sprouted wings from its back that had turned completely black. It then immediately pursued her.
When it brought the sword down on her, it immediately broke through several talismans she had on her.
She was. .h.i.t by the attack. While the attack did not manage to break through her defense barrier, it still brought her down to the ground, creating a huge crater when she crashed.
Pffftt!
She immediately spat out blood, yet there was still no sign of fear seen in her eyes.
Those eyes of hers looked rather frenzied instead as a faint hint of devil qi was unleashed from her body.
That blow from back then severely injured her abdomen. Common martial artists would have died right away, but her injury was slowly being healed.
There was no doubt that the Sky Devil Physique was the best of the 3000 Devilish Physiques.
As long as the one with such a physique was able to survive, there was no doubt that they would be able to reach extremely great heights.
In truth, Yun Ling’er had not used the Sky Devil Physique to its fullest back in Lu Xuan’s previous life. Under his guidance in his current lifetime, however, she was finally able to make full use of her unique physique.
Crippling and even lethal injuries to others might have only rattled her internal organs and caused her to spit out blood.
Roar!
The leader of the fallen angels roared before bringing the sword in its hand down again, landing right before her almost instantly.
However, she was rendered completely immobile at the moment; she had yet to recover from the numbness she was experiencing from the previous attack.
Clang!
At that moment, a blast of sword light suddenly came from above and landed right before that strike. It managed to instantly deflect the blade that the leader of the fallen angels held.
The leader then howled at the sky and asked, “Who’s that?”
The being was speaking in Huaxian. While the fallen angels looked like low-level demons with no intellectual capacity to speak of, they were actually extremely intelligent given that they had once been angels.
There was no way that they could’ve been little more than animals; the devil qi on them was just so thick that people had a hard time seeing through it.
Yun Ling’er looked up and saw someone wearing a white robe moving alongside the moon.
“Master!”
She was delightfully surprised at the sight of the newcomer. She never expected to see something that would have made her so relieved.
What happened caught everyone by surprise; n.o.body had expected Lu Xuan to return.
She then felt her body going limp. Having struggled to keep herself together moments ago, she was too relieved to keep it up anymore.
“Good work.”
Lu Xuan made a move and came right before her, patting her on her head.
At that moment, she then sensed a gentle flow of Spiritual Aether being sent into her body. That gentle Spiritual Aether then healed the injuries she had sustained, repairing the damage in every single cell.
It took her mere moments to return to peak condition.
The experience was so soothing that she began to moan, but her face instantly turned red when she quickly realized it.
She then tumbled about and came behind him, exclaiming with excitement. “Master! I’m so glad to see you home in one piece!”
Lu Xuan flashed a smile and replied, “What made you think anything would happen to me?”
“I see you’ve managed to make decent progress over the past few years while I wasn’t around. Still, you can do better.”
She then chuckled and looked pleased with herself. Despite beginning to train rather late, she still managed to progress at a frightening rate. Her current level of cultivation was not all that different from the two strongest ones in all of the Yunxuan Villa.
She was deemed one of the three most powerful there.
Lu Xuan sighed seeing how she finally had that invincible aura about her that he remembered from his previous life. Her eyes at the moment resembled what she had been like back then.
She pointed at the leader of the fallen angels before her and then said, “Master, that big guy is bullying me just because it’s at a higher level than me. You have to take revenge for me!”
She was only at the fourth tier of the Divine Treasure Realm, while that leader of the fallen angels before her was at least at the sixth tier of the same realm. To make matters worse, that was the result of having come to Earth; its powers dropped after being subjected to the planet’s limitations.
At peak condition, the creature was probably above the seventh tier of the Divine Treasure Realm.
While that fallen angel’s powers and combat prowess were both reduced, it was nonetheless far stronger than those of its current level.
Yun Ling’er would not have had such a hard time if she were taking on common beings at the sixth tier of the Divine Treasure Realm.
It was only then that she truly learned of the effects that the world’s shackles of the planet had on beings like them. One could say that the more talented someone was, the greater the pressure of the shackles would be on them.
Lu Xuan nodded and said, “No worries. They’re nothing more than just a bunch of fallen angels. I’ll cut them up soon enough.”
One by one, everyone came to realize what had happened; Lu Xuan had returned.
Both Liu Wanrong and Lu Shanshan were delightfully surprised. Through the rabbit’s contract with Lu Xuan, they were able to confirm without a doubt that he was still alive.
Then again, being able to confirm his survival was completely different from not seeing him for years after his disappearance. He was nowhere to be found on the planet the whole time.
Dead or alive, he was truly nowhere to be seen.
Both of them still could not help but grumble to themselves. They had no idea of the state that he was in all along.
At that moment, the sight of Lu Xuan reappearing clad in white robes immediately washed away all of their fears and worries.
