“Uncle, Zhiwei is already dead. There’s nothing left to say about the matter. Xuning has nothing to do with this. She died in a car accident.”

Li Hezheng looked at Qie w.a.n.g. He didn’t seem convinced.

Qie w.a.n.g nodded. “Yes, it’s true. It’s got nothing to do with Xuning. Please believe me.”

Li Hezheng sat on the floor and placed his hands on his face. He started crying loudly. Why?

“Li Zhiwei. She was involved in a car accident last night. She burnt to death right in front of Uncle Qie’s eyes.”

“I don’t think so. I called Uncle Qie. He said that he saw Li Zhiwei’s face just before the car exploded.”

Ye Tianxin looked at Li Qingcang, still not convinced.

Was Li Zhiwei really dead?

She was still skeptical to consider this the truth.

Ye Tianxin rested her head on Li Qingcang’s chest. She started drawing circles on his palm with her fingers.

“I have been thinking about Li Zhiwei and how oddly she had been behaving.”

Ye Tianxin looked up at Li Qingcang who nodded. He was encouraging her to continue.

She paused for a while. “Ever since the incident with Ying Yimei, I started trying to make sense of what happened. Li Hezheng and Xie Qian tried to get my dad and Li Zhiwei together in the past. They even resorted to withholding the fact that my mom was still alive from my dad. They were very fixed on getting the both of them together. Hence, it is understandable that they will do anything to achieve that objective.”

“Yes, carry on.”

Li Qingcang looked to one side and listened intently to Ye Tianxin.

Her voice was soft and alluring as she carefully a.n.a.lyzed the situation.

Ye Tianxin was like an angel to him. She was sweet-natured but also mature in her actions and thinking. She signified goodness all over her.

“Don’t you find it strange that they didn’t do anything else? If Li Zhiwei really loved my dad, she should have tried to get him using all sorts of means. It’s reasonable to think to do so, given the extent of her love.”

Li Qingcang had always been someone who was not sensitive to emotions. He did not understand what Ye Tianxin was trying to say. “Are you saying it’s because she wasn’t so obsessed with your father?”

“I doubt it. If she wasn’t obsessed with him, she would have turned to other men. Her actions and words convinced everyone around her that she loves my dad.
