Chapter 74 - Take It Seriously
Everyone knew what Fang Zhuo meant by 'taking it seriously'!
Silently swearing, they had no other choice but to do so!
So, the six figures dashed out like arrows. Shall we run back?
Although they could run faster than average bikes, they could not make it within 20 minutes. Between the two points, the shortest distance would be a straight line.
So, they had to run on the off-road!
There were no lights at all on their way back, but they had to pa.s.s through the villages, the farms, the streams, and the mountains, all in their casual attire!
"I knew Lao Cai is not this nice! We got 6 hours of a break today, but he will give us 60 hours of extra training in the future! This is not worth it!" In a brief moment, they were already running in the rice fields. Thank G.o.d the rice was only planted for less than 2 months. After being squashed, they could still stand back up.
Ye Cheng was a little tipsy, but his mind was awake, and his energy bar was full!
What kind of inhumane training had they not suffered through under Lao Cai, anyway?
Lao Cai once brought them for some alcohol. The wine made by the military winemaker had a silky texture and tasted amazing, so the whole crew drank as much as they could and got drunk. Lao Cai then instructed Director Chen to spray them with a water jet, and they woke up immediately. While they were still tipsy, Lao Cai instructed them to go to the training grounds.
Carrying logs and traveling through the mud was nothing; going through interrogation training in a drunken state was true h.e.l.l!
"Xiao, was it worth it? Did you break it? You weren't together for more than half an hour, right?" Fang Zhuo started messing around again and asked Beixiao, who was running speedily.
Beixiao bent over, grabbed a handful of mud, and threw it at him.
"Xiao looks really unhappy; he must've been stopped halfway, ahahaha..." Ye Cheng laughed at him.
'Get lost!' Beixiao ignored them. Thinking about it still made him a little upset. But, tonight, he did get a lot of benefits…
With that in mind, he ran even faster! Turning desire into physical speed, he dashed out of the rice fields.
***
At the south entrance of the base camp, Lao Cai stood under the street light with his timer. There were only 5 minutes left, but the 6 soldiers were nowhere to be seen!
"Amateurs! Are you all dead? If you can't make it on time, at least tell me! I will arrange your transfer procedure now! Don't waste my time!" Lao Cai raised his beeper and spoke into it sternly.
The 'amateurs' were all silent since none of them were there.
Director Chen, who was supposed to be on break, rushed over. He was praying silently for these soldiers.
Three minutes later, no one answered his question.
'This bunch of rascals! Getting angry at me?' Lao Cai thought to himself and smirked contemptuously.
Officer Chen stood at the roadside and looked left and right for the missing figures or vehicles.
"Chen, you don't understand them well enough!" Lao Cai walked towards him and said.
There were 10 seconds left.
Lao Cai stared at his watch. 5 seconds left. He felt a little drizzle, along with a horrible stench, then, a venomous snake, a toad, a branch, a muddy shoe, and a dead fish dropped around him. The next second, a shadow loomed over Lao Cai, but he was quick enough to dodge it.
The 6 men were standing before him!
Da Sha was trying to cover Lao Cai's head with a s.h.i.+rt.
Beixiao threw the venomous snake at him.
Ye Cheng threw the toad.
He Feng, who was a little germophobic, threw the muddy shoes.
Fang Zhuo and Jiang Hai threw the dead fish and the tree branch.
These were all the 'trophies' they collected on their way back!
"Lao Cai, these are our gifts for you! Please accept it, ha!" Ye Cheng wiped off the mud on his forehead and put his hands on his waist.
Officer Chen came over and laughed. "Little rascals!"
He really did not understand them as well as Lao Cai did; these rascals came from the off-road!
"Lao Cai! Why did you ask us to gather so urgently? What task do we have?" Beixiao asked. His expression was gloomy, and his handsome face had a few cuts from the branches in the forest.
He had better have some urgent tasks!
