Chapter 200: There Goes His Plan of Having Candle-Light Dinner and s.e.x
Upon hearing this, s.h.i.+ Beiyu let out a soft snort. “If adhering to their intentions would break her heart, I’d rather not do that.”
Huo Sikai tutted as he shook his head. Then, he looked at s.h.i.+ Beiyu in shock. “It looks like the poison is stronger than I thought. You’ll only draw yourself to nothing but trouble.”
s.h.i.+ Beiyu said indifferently, “They don’t have to like the person I like.”
Huo Sikai was speechless. “But… As long as the Old Master and the others are against it, your relations.h.i.+p with Little Siyin will never work.”
s.h.i.+ Beiyu looked unruly. “I call the shots for my own wedding.”
“Forget about it. Anyway, I don’t think you should make things so sour between you and your family. It won’t benefit you in any way either. If they disagree with it, you should have a talk with them. Don’t be too stubborn.
“You probably didn’t know how terrifying the Old Master looked when you ditched the guests at his birthday party! I was so scared that he’d bash us up to vent his anger!”
s.h.i.+ Beiyu mocked. “No matter how angry he is, he’ll hold it in for the sake of his reputation.”
Upon hearing this, Huo Sikai raised his hand and pointed at s.h.i.+ Beiyu. “You’re throwing us to the Devil!”
s.h.i.+ Beiyu smiled faintly in reply, to which Huo Sikai said again, “But how did Little Siyin get into the hall that night? Who brought her there?”
The thought of this made s.h.i.+ Beiyu mad, and he grunted softly. “It’s all because of her cousin from the Lu family.”
Huo Sikai was stunned to hear this, but he eventually tutted. “See! I told you to be cautious of her cousin, yet you didn’t listen. He’s causing trouble now, eh?”
s.h.i.+ Beiyu was speechless. “It’s not as s.e.xual as you think it is.”
Lu Jingchen brought Mu Siyin to the party that night because he was worried that she might be cheated on and hurt. It was nothing as incestuous as Huo Sikai made it.
Needless to say, Huo Sikai was utterly speechless. Even so, he could only let out a long sigh and said, “Sheesh, forget about it. Since you’ve already decided to be with Little Siyin no matter what, my words would only fall on deaf ears. However, you’ve really upset Big Beauty Yue this time.”
s.h.i.+ Beiyu frowned. “She and I have got nothing to do with each other. Why would she be upset over a stranger? Don’t talk nonsense.”
Huo Sikai raised an eyebrow when he heard this. “There’s an ancient proverb that goes like this, ‘falling flowers yearn for love’. You may not have any feelings towards her, but the same can’t be said for her.”
s.h.i.+ Beiyu scoffed. “Then she should put her attention on other people who are available.”
Huo Sikai pursed his lips. “This daughter from the Yue family is famous for being arrogant. She doesn’t just fall for anyone. I’m not even good enough in her eyes.”
s.h.i.+ Beiyu lifted an eyebrow. “What has that got to do with me?”
Huo Sikai was speechless. “Yeah, yeah, yeah. It has nothing to do with you. You only care about loving your Little Siyin.”
s.h.i.+ Beiyu smirked. “Of course!”
Huo Sikai raised a hand. “Don’t feed me that lovey-dovey cr*p. p.i.s.s off!”
s.h.i.+ Beiyu snorted softly before he looked at Huo Sikai to say, “When will she wake up?”
Huo Sikai stood up from the sofa in annoyance. “Don’t worry about it. Why are you panicking so much over a simple fever and cold? You really do blow me away!”
Noticing that Huo Sikai was packing up to leave, s.h.i.+ Bei smiled as he raised an eyebrow. Then, he asked, “Are you not staying for tea?”
Huo Sikai grunted. “You’re not asking me to stay for tea. You’re obviously trying to feed me more of your lovey-dovey stuff! I’ve still got some work to do at the hospital. I have to go.”
s.h.i.+ Beiyu chuckled softly and stood up. “Let me see you off.”
Huo Sikai immediately teased him. “Jeez, look who finally grew some conscience!”
After sending Huo Sikai away, s.h.i.+ Beiyu sighed softly before he headed upstairs again.
As he saw how peacefully asleep Mu Siyin was, helplessness washed over him. There goes his plan of having candle-light dinner and s.e.x tonight…
