"Ishtar…." The young girl mumbled her name before looking up at Angelica with tears in her eyes. She finally had a name. She would no longer be called slave or hey you. She would be a person with a name. The young girl, now named Ishtar, knelt in front of Angelica and pressed her head to the floor. "My life is yours."

"I do not want your life. I want you to grow up and be someone who is strong enough to live freely. Even in three months' time, when I go to leave, you will be following me." Angelica was not just going to name the girl and leave her be. She knew that once she left, the girl would be treated as an object. As such, she planned to take her back with her. She only needed to return on her own instead of being teleported back. 

"You are leaving… And taking me with you…." Ishtar mind was slightly a mess. She did not know what to make of all of this. But she did know that it was a good thing. This was for sure. She wondered if her life would be much better from now on.

Angelica was not just doing this on a whim. While she did feel bad for the girl who would have probably been beaten or worse, she had noticed something peculiar about this girl. Her soul did not belong to this world. In fact, it did not seem to come from this current time. 

She did not know why this was or where the girl originally came from, but the current her was definitely not from this world and somehow came to this place. Seeing the little one still bowing to her, Angelica sighed as she said: "Stand up. From now on, you are not allowed to bow to anyone. No matter who it is, you are not allowed to bow. Do you understand?"

  Ishtar slowly got up and looked up at Angelica. She was trying her hardest not to lower her head as she nodded to answer. She could feel her tears slowly creeping up on her. She, an orphan, was going to be allowed to live a life without needing to lower her head. 

"I can't hear your little one." Angelica smiled. She knew the little girl was at her limits, but she still wanted to push her a bit more. 

Ishtar clenched her little fists before yelling out: "I understand!"

From that day forward, Ishtar's life completely changed. She was taken under Angelica's wing and was not even close to being treated as a servant but more like Angelica's daughter. All the good things that came into the room were shared with her. The food she thought she would never get to eat was placed in front of her to enjoy as much as she wanted.

Angelica had even made the people provide new clothes for her. She was able to take a bath in a bathtub so big she could swim around in it and was being taught all kinds of new things. 

Ishtar did not want to disappoint Angelica, who had been treating her so nicely. When she was told to learn something, she put her all into learning it. In no time at all, she had learned what was called translation magic. It was a magic that allowed her to read, write and speak all languages. But this kind of magic was not a casting magic but one that had to be imprinted on her body so that it would always be active.

And the place it had to be imprinted was on her tongue. With a little hard work, she was finally able to do it with the careful instructions that Angelica was giving her. After two weeks of studying, Ishtar's understanding of the world around her had grown. She had learned how to do math, read and write, and she had even learned many new magic spells. There was also a thing called cultivation. Which was not as easy as the other things since it was hard to feel this thing called spiritual qi. 

But Ishtar never wavered and kept pus.h.i.+ng through. Her determination was proven fruitful because, within a month, she could sense the spiritual qi that filled the room thanks to Angelica's spirit stones. 

It was the first week of the second month that a soldier came to the door to Angelica's chambers. "Miss Angelica, we would like to invite Miss Ishtar to the throne room to speak with his masjes…."

  "Do you think I am dumb?" Angelica looked at the guard and stood up. She then walked over to Ishtar, who was standing by the door, and grabbed her hand. "Ishtar, it is time to tell this king who you are."

Ishtar was confused as she was pulled along. She did not understand what Angelica meant by telling the king who she was… 

But not before long, she was pulled into a large room. This room was filled with many different colors of cloth as well as golden ornaments and jewels. On the throne sat a young man in his twenties who had an excited expression on his face when he saw Angelica walking in.

Angelica did not even knock or announce her visit when she opened the door. Even the poor guard who had come to take the young girl to the king was lagging behind in a sort of panic. Angelica looked up at the king and saw the look in his eyes and felt disgusted. She narrowed her eyes as she pointed to Ishtar next to her. "This is not someone you can touch or order around any more. She is now my daughter, my family. If you want to try to take her as your wife at her current age then you are just a sick perv trying to bully a young girl. Not that I would allow it anyway. What ever your customs are it was nothing to do with Ishtar and I, do you understand?"
