Chapter 726: Intruder

Haru was somehow quite lonely since Esdeat had gone on an expedition to Sapporo Area. He wanted to follow her, but he knew that he couldn't leave his job, but he also thought that when they were separated, their connection would become stronger and their nightlife would become crazier.

Haru hurriedly tried to calm himself when his anaconda had hit the dinner table after waking up. Luckily, his anaconda was strong enough to handle this force, but it was slightly painful and made him need to rest for a while.

After arriving in the Hakata Area, Haru and Saitake lived in different places. He was too lazy to spend his night with an old man and wanted to sleep early while waiting for Esdeath to be successful. Haru decided to cook cold soba along with a vegetable and shrimp tempura to warm up his stomach.

Soba is the j.a.panese name for buckwheat. It usually refers to thin noodles made from buckwheat flour or a combination of buckwheat and wheat flours.

Usually, it is served with either warm or cold soup, but this time he is going to have a cold soup since it is summer and somehow it reminds him of Esdeath.

The cooking process was very quick and he had made his own noodle using buckwheat flour with a ratio of water 9:1 making it taste more authentic.

Then he covered the vegetables along with shrimp which he had cut beautifully with flour then dipped it on the batter before frying it until it turned golden brown.

If Saitake was here, then he would complain that Haru didn't invite him to eat since his cooking was that delicious.

But then his observation haki noticed something that moved toward his home.

Haru also smelled blood and knew that some of his bodyguards had been killed by those people. He knew that there were only two people, one of them was a man and the other one was a child.

'Initiator and Promoter?'

And, he was right since those two people appeared in front of him, but he didn't expect the words that came out from the mouth of this intruder.

"Good evening, Mr. Governor, I'm your fan!"

The little girl who was standing beside the man moved her nose cutely and said, "Papa, that noodle seems good, can I eat it?"

"It's not good since it is dinner for Mr. Governor," the man said.

"Well, I can cook another one, how about you join me for dinner?" Haru said.

"Is that alright?" The man seemed quite surprised.

"Yes, I have also wanted to ask you why you have killed my bodyguard, Kagetane Hiruko," Haru said.

Even though the face of the man was covered in a mask, Haru could see that this guy was smiling.

"I'm honored for Mr. Governor to know my name. Then both of us will join the dinner while we are talking about my intention to come here," Kagetane said.

Kagetane Hiruko is a former Promoter working with Kohina Hiruko, his own daughter, as his Initiator. He is a pale, lean man, with slicked-back, grey hair; reaching to the back of his neck, and moderate-sized ears. His entire face is, however, covered by a white mask, leaving only portions of his jawline exposed.

Haru knew very well that Kagetane was the main antagonist of the story of Black Bullet and that made it quite strange for him to suddenly come toward him.

From the information that he had gotten from the story, Kagetane's intention was to destroy the world was because Kagetane wanted to show the worth of Cursed Children.

Cursed Children are being discriminated against and Kagetane wants to show the worth of Cursed Children by destroying this world by showing that they're superior races of h.o.m.o sapiens and not an object of discrimination or hate.

Haru and Kagetane had the same goal and that was to erase the discrimination against Cursed Children, but both of them had different ways to realize that goal.

If Kagetane was going to destroy then Haru was going to fix society.

Haru also heard from Kagetane's mouth before that this guy was his fan and that made him quite complicated for some reason. He sipped warm tea while waiting for both Kohina Hiruko and Kagetane Hiriko to finish their food.

Haru patted Kohina's head and asked, "Is it good?"

"It's good!" Kohina nodded and cleaned up the soba.

Usually, Kohina was very aggressive toward anyone besides her father, but it was different when she was in front of Haru. She could see that Haru wasn't pretending and also the food that he had made was very good.

"Here is the Strawberry Cake. You should eat it while I talk with your papa," Haru said.

"Yay!" Kohina gulped when she saw the strawberry cake and hurriedly ate it with a happy smile.

"Hmm... It has been a while since I have had this delicious food." Kagetane turned his body showing his back when he was eating then put his mask on once again then looked at Haru. "Thank you for your hospitality."

"You should remember that you only have 10 minutes before another bodyguard is coming," Haru said.

"That's true, I've limited time!" Kagetane nodded and said, "My intention is pretty simple and that is to meet you since I'm your fan!"

Haru sighed and said, "I sure have a troublesome fan since this fan has even killed my bodyguard to meet me."

"Hehehe, you don't seem afraid of me," Kagetane said.

"My wife is stronger than you," Haru said.

"Ah... Commander Esdeath, I have seen her before from afar, but I can tell that she is going to kill me right away if I get close....." Kagetane seemed to shudder when he remembered that day.

"Hahahaha, talking with you is very pleasant." Kagetane stood up and said, "Then, I'll get out now, and let's meet again in the Tokyo Area."

"Oh, you're going to go to the Tokyo Area?" Haru asked.

"Yes, do you have anything to do in that place? If it's something that I can help with then I'll do my best to help you," Kagetane said.

"Then, can you protect the group of little girls on the outer area or create chaos on the governor or official building whichever you think that is more comfortable since they might make the group of little girls into a scapegoat," Haru said.

Haru explained about the Ladder of Heaven and about the accusation which was placed in the Tokyo Area. He had thought that it might be possible for the governor and the officials of the Tokyo Area to put blame on the disappearance of Ladder of Heaven on a group of Cursed Children.

"Is that possible? You think that everyone is going to believe such a thing?" Kagetane seemed to think that the people who believed such a thing were idiots.

"Yes, a human is foolish enough to believe such a thing," Haru said with a serious expression.

Kagetane was silent for a while then laughed. "Hahaha, I guess destroying the world is the only way for me to make them realize the worth of Cursed Children."

"Now, now, you don't need to be hasty. Once I've conquered the entire areas of j.a.pan, those people won't be able to breathe fresh air once again," Haru said.

"Hahaha, that's true." Kagetane looked at Haru and said, "Then, let us meet again Mr. Governor, no, Saitake Haruka."

"Bye, bye, Onii-chan!" Kohina said while waving her hand.

Both of them jumped out of his house then one by one a lot of people entered his house.

"Mr. Governor, are you alright?!"

"Did you get hurt?!"

Waving his hand, Haru was calm and said, "Calm down, you should check the other's bodyguard since they might be hurt because of the intruders."

"YES!!!"

Haru walked to the balcony and saw that both Kagetane and Kohina had disappeared. He didn't care about Kagetane, but rather he was more worried about Sasa and the group of Cursed Children who he had met during his first time appeared in this world.
