Chapter 1538: Troubles II
Sivan is feeling a bit tense. The glide team and the ambush team left the camp gates.
As soon as they stepped onto the battlefield. The glide team members who are all wearing a set of armor stood on the ground in an inclined posture.
On the back of their armor, a pair of collapsible wings opened up. The parts of the armor on the leg opened up what looked like mini thrusters as they shot heavily compressed wind cannons.
*BOOM* *SWOOSH*
They flew up into the air with a whistling sound and started gliding over the battlefield. Their wings opened up and they wore helmets that covered their faces. The thrusters opened up on the back of the armor as well as the legs as they kept them in the air as much as they can.
When they started gliding down, the thrusters shot compressed wind cannons again to keep the boost. They are moving toward the beasts at a rapid pace and when they looked at Gail's look that swept past them, they felt chills run down their spines.
Meanwhile, the ambush team took a few detours on normal flying beasts as they moved to the secret spots where they want to set up their shooting equipment.
But Gail didn't attack. He just aimed the portable cannon at the liquid energy missile that flew from the camp. He shot it down. Not only did the missile explode on top of the battlefield that was on Camp's side, but the aftereffects also left the people in the camp feeling dread.
The gliders went past him and felt relieved.
They focused on the beasts now. There are six beasts flying and on every beast, there is one shooter holding the portable cannon and shooting at the puppets. When the gliding team is surrounding them, they immediately s.h.i.+fted the targets and started attacking them.
The gliding team on the other hand is very hard to reach. They are agile and dexter as they maneuvered in the air as they owned it.
They took out some attachments that looked like handguns and started shooting at the beasts.
The energy pistols shot energy bullets of wind elemental energy. The bullets created explosive wind elemental attacks on the beasts and the shooters which they barely managed to escape.
Even though both sides are dodging each other's attacks, Sivan's problem is temporarily solved.
The puppets are saved.
He heaved a sigh of relief and looked at the list of remaining things he had at hand.
There is not much equipment left. He is done with more than half of them and in particular the light chamber one of the trump cards is removed.
Now all he does have is the equipment they could use to destroy the city in a large scale. It won't help much in the field battle. They need to make sure that the Gaja city doesn't have anything to send and can only defend within the city.
Only then would these things would be of any use as they need some effort to install.
If not, they would waste a lot of resources and so much energy will go to waste if they are used in field directly.
He then turned to the list of the special troops he had.
"The thunder eagle squad is done for. One of the gliding squads is on the roll. We only have four more of them.
We still have eight Meteor squads, Six ambush teams while two of them are currently set up to a.s.sist the Gliding squad.
We still have the basic armored troops. Eighteen archer squads. The Earthen armor regiment. The thunder wolf squad, the gra.s.shopper squad, and the Ice hawk squad."
Sivan listened to his subordinate giving out the names of the squads.
"Okay, these are all our personal troops. What about the troops given to us by the Mari clan.
We have eight regiments full of them. There are mercenary groups too. Do you want to march them forward?"
"Yes. We are going to march them first. We cannot let them sit around and consume resources here. Stop sending the puppets. We are going to use these excessive forces first to see what the Gaja clan has in store for us."
"Yes, boss."
"But wait till the beasts are taken down or the Gliding squad is destroyed."
Sivan sighed as he looked at the list of remaining resources he had.
He felt extremely troubled. He doesn't know how long this war will go on but he knew for sure that the longer this goes on, the more troubling the situation is going to be for him.
He then looked at the Divine league members and felt even more frustrated. He suddenly felt like these people are useless. If they are really that afraid of Gail, then what is the point of even coming here?
It is not like their presence makes any difference at this point if they are acting like this.
He doesn't know what to do. He is really tempted to call the clan leader and ask him to send his father so that he would beat some sense into these people. At least his presence will intimidate them enough and then these people will have to think whether they should break the deal they made with Sin's son or fight Gail.
Even if they didn't make a decision, he would still have a show that he felt like he deserved.
Shaking these thoughts off, he focused back on the battle.
While he is doing that, back in the Mari clan things are getting chaotic.
The Clan leader of the Mari clan is currently sitting in his vast office.
The large office is carved out of a black stone and in the middle is a black stone table. It looked cool and intimidating a bit grand as well.
But there is no such majesty and grandeur in the posture of the clan leader. He is sulking in his chair with his hands supporting his face while his elbows are placed on the table.
He almost wanted to cry.
His wife is sitting opposite him as she looked at the doc.u.ments.
"What the f.u.c.k? How did this all happen in two f.u.c.king days?"
She said it out loud with a horrified expression.
"The Dusk did this. All by themselves. They did it so fast and so precisely.
All of our cities and towns that are on the seash.o.r.e are gone and the cities that are on the bank of the rivers of these cities are also done. Most of the forces are deprived of these places because of the war and they are taken down.
These weird creatures that are looking blue and red and some kind of gel-like material just moved through the rivers, ca.n.a.ls, and any stream and took over a whole planet that is completely under our control.
The planet is filled with one of the most fertile lands. They just occupied it whole. Not just that, They are driving the people out of the planet and to the neighboring planets through the wormholes and s.p.a.ce gates.
They numbered millions.
The rest are camping in different forests building villages. They took a lot of time and sacrifice to send these messages to me. They are waiting for me to send forces and free them.
These creatures are eating the land animals away. For some reason, they are dragging everything away into the sea.
We don't know what is happening.
If that isn't already enough. There are more troubles.
Our business is being taken down like crazy. They are eating at the businesses like maggots on a corpse.
One-third of our businesses are gone. The resource points we hold in those areas, the underground arenas and labs we are running, the fields, and the mines. Everything is being destroyed as we speak.
If that is not enough, the smaller organizations under the other organizations in the alliance to defeat the Gaja clan are adding fuel to the flames.
They are trying to create trouble for us and are occupying whatever is left behind by the dusk organization.
Things are going really bad. The soldier gathering is stopped midway. I need to send forces to the Gaja city to aid Sivan in his battle."
"Why? Did he ask for them?"
"Not at the moment, but before he left, he said that he would need people. He insisted that he needs a lot of soldiers and half of them might just go as fodder in the battle.
Things are really going bad here."
"Half of these people are going to die? Do you know just how many people that make? That is way too many people. Way too many.
You are letting them all die?"
"What do you want me to do honey? They are mostly mercenaries. We are dealing with the Gaja clan. So there is no way I am losing this opportunity over the lives of these people."
His wife looked at him and asked.
"Are you really okay with this? This is way too many people dying in a war being led by a kid. This is going to be a great loss of faith and power in the clan. We are going to have trouble with the G.o.ds."
