The trio just walked out of the city unscathed.

But on their way, they killed as many people as they came. After a while, the organization members did get some sense and didn’t come forward to fight them.

The trio just went to the nearest branch to await the results.

They just sat there without doing much. They just planned for their next target which is going to be much more similar and in fact easier than this.

The cube that was planted in the middle of the city started spreading out different elemental energies. Fire, death, and earth are elemental energies all together.

The elemental fire energy has the highest level of concentration than the rest of the energies. This completely evaporated all the moisture in the surroundings.

The vegetation started drying up. The gra.s.s, the shrubs, and even the large trees everything got affected. Coupled with the death energy, they all died out very quickly. The earth’s elemental energy completely loosened the soil into loose sand.

By next morning, everything in the city and surroundings turned into a desert. The houses started deteriorating even the great mansion, the headquarters of the dark lightning was worn off.

It started collapsing by the next day evening. The effects didn’t even stick there, by night it spread to everywhere around within the range. The next two hundred and fifty miles slowly started turning into a desert.

The cultivators and the citizens were not affected on the first day, but the second day morning things are different.

The Citizens who are still within the very early stages of the Mortal Plane of Cultivation are the first ones to be effected. They felt like the surrounding spiritual energy has become scarce.

They couldn’t absorb enough to sustain themselves. They felt exhausted and tired, particularly kids who just recently awakened and just gotten used to the spiritual energy are feeling the most trouble.

As for the people who didn’t awaken at all, their bodies are not exactly strong or equipped enough to take on the effects of this. They have to consume water and food which they need more to take on the adverse effects of the weather changes.

The parents of those kids are the first to cave in. They didn’t know what to do and went straight to the Dark Lightning organization asking them for a solution.

On the third day, things are worse. The kids who didn’t awaken started feeling the effects of this even more. Particularly the death energy. They couldn’t stay awake and fell into a comatose state.

They felt like their lives are being sucked of their bodies which is exactly what is happening.

The vegetation not just got destroyed, it turned to nothing more than dust and just got mixed up with the sand in the surroundings.

The buildings are the same. They just turned into sand and got mixed up in the sand. The city looked like some ruins discovered by an archaeological group back on earth. That too a ruin in the city.

The Dark lightning members immediately called for Zeus. They used the ritual to summon Zeus and the leader of the organization sat on his knees as he looked at the G.o.d with very little and last bit of hope he could muster.

“Lord, someone from the Dusk organization has come. They destroyed the city and its surroundings. All the vegetation has died. Kids are in coma, and cultivators are getting affected. The death energy is running rampant over the area.

The surrounding area of the city approximately 200 miles has turned into a desert with no spiritual energy. The only safe place is past this radius but they all belong to rival organizations.

We are going to die out if you don’t help us. If we try, I and my family could escape this, but we cannot let the people that trusted us to suffer like this.

The people who trusted us and started wors.h.i.+pping you. Please help us.”

Zeus looked at the leader of the organization with a frown. It took some time for him to even process the whole thing. He couldn’t fathom the fact that Sam really made a move and the first target is actually an organization directly under him.

He looked at another elder on the side and asked.

“Give me the details. What exactly happened?”

The Elder went on to explain the incident from start to finish. Zeus closed his eyes for a moment before sighing.

“Go and find the cause of this. The cube you said they buried. Try to take it out and bring it here. I will send someone from a superior organization to you. They will handle this.”

The elders agreed and went to get the cube. But they weren’t even able to touch the cube. They were caught in some attack that channeled the death energy into them.

Their spiritual energy was eaten away along with their vitality as they aged at a rapid pace. The people accompanied in the operation saw one of their elders who looked like a middle-aged man at the best turn into an old man, lose his teeth, get all wrinkly, gain a hunch and finally fall forward to his death.

All in a matter of minutes. The more physical contact he had with the cube the faster he aged.

One of the companions knocked out the other person who made contact with the cube.

That man who became old was flung to the side. His cultivation remained the same, but his whole body and everything inside, including the spiritual core and the meridians deteriorated because of it.

Even his soul seemed to have aged along with the rest of his body. But as soon as his contact with the cube was cut off, he was safe.

But his age didn’t go back to normal. So, it is fair to say he is not exactly saved.

The leader of the organization himself wanted to try his hand at the cube, but he wasn’t able to.

He tried to contact Zeus again, but he wasn’t able to do that either. On the fourth day, the help that Zeus said will come arrived meanwhile the first refugee arrived at the Dusk organization’s branch.
