Chapter 1933: Fainted
Five minutes of constant attacks.
The dust settled and everyone witnessed nothing but rubble in the place of their city. Not a single building survived. Except for the estate, everything else was destroyed.
Sam stood there at the hole in the formation as he took deep breaths. Blood is seeping out of his nose and his veins are popping on his forehead. All the bloodl.u.s.t that came out of the creatures entered him. The only target that was in front of them.
Everyone looked at the change in the situation.
Sam's body gave out a killing intent that they have never felt before.
The beasts connected to him could even feel it.
The humans that are closest to him are a few meters away and they felt like they are standing on the edge of a razor sharp blade and could be cut anytime soon.
Sam on the other hand, lost the sense of his surroundings. Currently, he is inside his own head.
He is hearing a lot of words.
"KILL"
"DESTROY"
"KILL"
"DESTROY"
"SLAUGHTER"
"Ma.s.sACRE."
All of his beast bloodlines are running rampant, the surrounding spiritual energy is riled up and many elements are being cast.
The beasts hurriedly came to him and surrounded him, trying to send signals to his mind to calm him down.
But Sam's aura is even effecting them at such a close distance. They stood a bit away as they all became worried about him. Sam held his head with both of his hands as he heard these voices constantly edging him towards this violence.
He gritted his teeth and tried to control himself as much as he can.
And the more he persisted, the more defined the voices have become. The voice became much clearer and it turned out of be Ares' voice.
Five more minutes later Sam also saw a clear and defined picture of Ares in his mind. Standing there in all of his glory of being loser.
"Come on Sam. Do you think beating me is that easy? I really wished I came down with my Divine body to fight you. I really do. This fight, I am not satisfied. And this is the consequence of that dissatisfaction. Try to win past that and you will be worthy of being my opponent.
Then I can count on you coming to the level I am at and have a proper fight with me."
Sam bit his tongue as his breathing became ragged.
For some reason, the more he controlled, the more his mind is feeling pressured and some memories that had been buried deep inside his mind are being awakened.
All the bad memories that he desired to forget so many times, but didn't dare to as he was afraid that he might not be what he is today without those memories.
Ares who is inside Sam's consciousness through those memories got the unwarranted and unhindered access to these dark memories.
Like the memories Sivan stole, these memories didn't have any of his inventions, his theories and his techniques, instead every single one of them is an incident of pure sadness that later turned into an incident of pure rage and anger.
There are many things he had done. Many things that are inhumane and many that are immoral. Ares is tapping into all of them as he tried to make Sam's anger flare more and more.
"You are one strong minded b.a.s.t.a.r.d. Any human with this much trauma would have died a hundred times over. The abuse, the pain, I am sure the underworld would like to devour your soul and absorb all the Karma you acc.u.mulated before sending you back into reincarnation.
Hades might even incentivize me largely if I am the catcher of that soul and sent you there."
Sam didn't speak. His eyes locked on to Ares. He is full of anger and l.u.s.t for violence. But right now, he wanted to control himself from committing any of it and the best way to do it is for him to redirect it somewhere.
To a place where the area of effect is minimum, but the damage is maximum. And there is only one place that came to his mind, which is his mind itself. He focused on Ares himself.
The bloodl.u.s.t was transferred into a soul attack.
Ares was dumbfounded. For the first time, he felt fear like never before. All the bloodl.u.s.t that Sam was emitting externally was all directed inside. The people who were afraid all around and felt the pressure finally felt relieved.
They felt like a mountain was lifted off of their shoulders.
Sam looked at Ares and didn't even speak. His willpower and soul energy manifested into a storm within his sea of consciousness. Ares felt like he is being sucked into a blackhole.
"You dare?"
He yelled and started retaliating. But Sam didn't let up. He pushed his consciousness to the maximum. He didn't care if he would be exhausted or if he would even faint, but at this moment, he wanted to strain his soul as much as he can just to defeat Ares.
As long as he didn't cause any external damage to his body he is fine with it.
After all, he already had a goal to finish the task of these disasters with minimum damage. And even in that situation, some a.s.sholes messed up with his formation. So, he might have to sacrifice the numbers a bit.
In this situation, he doesn't want to lose any more on the number of civilians and impact his score.
The storm looked like a storm of blood and Ares's image blurred gradually.
Sam looked at him and said.
"I am pretty sure your wish will be satisfied. I would also like to see how you are going to deal with me in person.
Toe to toe, hand to hand, I will come and test if your t.i.tle as the G.o.d of war is worth your salt."
By the end of that sentence, Ares disappeared from Sam's sea of consciousness.
On the outside, the beasts watched as Sam collapsed to his knees and fainted on the ground.
The surrounding people all looked vigilantly, but the most vigilant at the moment were the beasts themselves. They all surrounded him and growled at the people that were about to come forward.
Sandhya wanted to come forward and check up on him, but Yanwu looked at her with killing intent. One more step and there is no doubt that he will destroy her right there and then.
Sandhya frowned and said.
"I am just checking up on him. We need to see if he got lasting damage."
Yanwu shook his head. Even though she couldn't understand what he is trying to say, she knew that she had no chance of checking up on Sam.
Sky placed Sam on his back and took off into the sky. He traveled towards the Mountain temple. Yanwu also followed him, but the remaining beasts stayed there.
Forest Bear injected his energy into the ground and built a forest around the estate. Hopper also went on and created a barrier. They are not exactly powerful enough to stop the people inside, but they were not meant to do that.
They are meant to showcase their intent. No one is leaving the estate without their consent and their consent can only be obtained on Sam's recovery and orders.
Sandhya understood the intent and went to organize a meeting with the young masters.
"One of your people messed up. You destroyed the formation that Sam created and from the looks of it, the beasts are not going to let you go unless this matter is cleared. I am asking you now. Who did this?"
"The area where the damage occurred belongs to the Emerald City. You might as well ask them. What is the point of organizing this whole meeting? It is a clear waste of time."
"One of the young masters said dismissively."
Sandhya sighed at this. She really didn't want to deal with this and these young masters are clearly used to handling these kinds of tricks. No one is going to admit to these things.
Sandhya thought for a moment and went back to the beasts.
"Let me leave this place."
She told the beasts. But they didn't respond.
"I know you guys are angry, but these idiots are not going to admit to these things. And I am not knowledgeable about this formation to find out who did this. Sam would have to come to do that. So, if you want to find out who did this before that, I have to involve my mother.
Let me go. You should know that I have no incentive in destroying this formation."
After the beasts thought for a while, they decided to let her go.
Sandhya hurriedly made her way to the mountain temple and by the time she reached there, Sam has already arrived. Priestess is already checking up on him.
Her expression is very serious.
She met with Sandhya and said.
"I am going to talk to Kartikeya. I understood what happened there, but I don't know what will happen after Sam wakes up. From his state, he will recover in a couple of hours."
