Chapter 159 - Returnee
Hao Xuan spent two full days underwater. Black would inhale a ma.s.sive amount of air and leave a few air bubbles around him every few mins, leaving him to focus on breaking through.
He finally managed to expel out all of the impurities and jumped directly from Origin Realm 6 to the Pinnacle of Origin realm.
Now all he needed was to understand a new type of energy and materialize his mind palace to enter the Spirit realm.
The cultivation of this world was much different from the ones people back on earth came up with. There were no rigid limitations in most cases that said a cultivator of an Elementary realm couldn't fight someone of an Origin realm for example, one on one. Each realm had a set of specific conditions and if someone met them, they were considered to be in that realm. That's why the power level between people of the same realm often varied quite a lot.
Of course, there were restrictions when the difference was simply too big. For example, the cultivators in the Spirit Realm were considered to be an entirely different level since they had left the boundaries of the mundane world and taken their first step on the neverending road of cultivation.
Hao Xuan had not even stepped out of the Mei kingdom yet so there was no way for him to know these things. He had not even met any of the special races other than a rare few. The lands of Beast World were filled with mysterious areas that housed more secrets than a politician's closet.
*Cough*Cough*
A naked human silhouette crawled out of the b.l.o.o.d.y waters of Lake Galena. He sat down near the edge and took a few minutes to regain his breathing. He looked extremely skinny and resembled a skeleton with skin draped over it rather than a normal human being.
Even though Black was kind enough to bring him air, it was anything but fresh, especially with the number of random beasts Black had been eating.
Fresh air truly was a blessing Hao Xuan thought.
*Whistle*
"Is it me or do you look a bit different now Cap'n? Ah, I know, you did something to your hair didn't you?" a voice came from behind Hao Xuan, startling him. Black and White's gigantic heads quickly popped out of the lake as they extended their bodies to surround Hao Xuan and looked towards the new arrival threateningly.
"Holy sh*t, when did you get new pets?" the voice sounded quite surprised and happy as it got closer. Hao Xuan frowned because he had heard it before but couldn't remember from where. He couldn't see the person it belonged to either since Black and White had surrounded him completely.
He patted their bodies, "It's fine, let me see who it is.." he whispered.
The breakthrough had consumed a lot of energy and required him to stay awake for several days. Even though there was an abundance of spiritual energy, he was still human and needed to eat and with his metabolism, he needed to eat quite a lot which he had not managed to do. Not to mention the mental and physical toll the entire process had taken.
Right now Hao Xuan was so tired that just keeping his eyes open was a no simple undertaking.
Black and White's thick bodies slowly slid away and created an opening towards the figure. Hao Xuan looked up and saw the figure. It took him a few seconds but he remembered who this person was.
"You! What are you doing here? And where were you for the last few months?" he asked with a raised eyebrow.
The figure smiled, "I made a deal with the old man so had to honor it. But I am free now so we can have lots of fun! I'm looking forward to it," he grinned.
"Jin w.a.n.g, is the Red Legion a joke to you?" Hao Xuan shouted angrily at his response.
Yes, this was the same person that had defeated the Jia prince, Jiang Ling barehanded without even breaking a sweat. (Ch 76)
When Hao Xuan woke up after that, he never saw him again until now.
Jin w.a.n.g ignored the menacing glares from Black and White and walked past them like they weren't even there. He bent down in front of Hao Xuan and patted his shoulder.
"Glad you didn't die. I came over as soon as they let me but still didn't make it in time I see," he smiled.
Hao Xuan backed up and his frown got even deeper. He didn't remember being so 'close' and frank with this guy, why was he acting like this? Wait a second...
"You are the reinforcements the HQ sent?" he asked both shocked and angry. Did they send a single person to help him stop hundreds of thousands of beast? Really?!
"Hey hey, don't look down on 'The great me'. I might not have been able to kill them but escaping would never have been a problem," he patted his chest in pride, "Also, do you mind covering that up?" he gestured towards his lower half.
Hao Xuan looked down and suddenly remembered that he was buck naked and everything was out for the world to see. He waved his hand and a towel appeared which he 's.h.i.+elded' himself with.
"What the actual f*ck is wrong with you?! Go away! Let me change for G.o.d sakes!" he shouted at Jin w.a.n.g while trying to stand up.
"Hey, if you didn't want people to stare, shouldn't have taken that thing out," Jin w.a.n.g shrugged like it was totally normal and backed off when smoke started coming out of Black and White's nostrils.
Hao Xuan wrapped the towel around him and gave him a final glare before ordering White to cover him while he put on some clothes.
Jin w.a.n.g just smiled at serpents and looked around.
"By the way, there are a bunch of people that came over from all over the continent hearing about the beast horde.. Let's go fight a few after this," he shouted towards Hao Xuan's direction.
