Chapter 814 - Interfere
"I...agree."
*ZzzzZZzz*
The milky water started thras.h.i.+ng about soon as the memory reached this point. It looked like there was something underneath the surface trying to come out.
This disturbance was enough to force Jin w.a.n.g who was lost in thought watching the memory play out from his dazed state. He straightened his back and clasped both his hands together, forming various rudimentary shapes one after another while mumbling something under his breath.
The parts of his feet that were still drenched in the water started to glow with a dim yellow light. His mumbling got louder and louder, as did the thras.h.i.+ng.
This lasted for a total of 15 seconds or so before a light pop put a stop to everything. The water calmed down and the frozen memory continued playing on its surface.
The Emperor was standing in front of Jin w.a.n.g, telling him something but most of it was garbled. Only a few sentences were legible.
"The 'Abyss Walker' will be here any minute. My distractions won't work against him for long so we need to do this now."
Jin w.a.n.g's brutal expression turned even more bloodthirsty upon hearing that t.i.tle.
"I understand. How will you get that 'thing' out?"
"I won't. It NEEDS to fall in their hands for now."
"But-"
"Trust me, it will work out. I have someone within the Temple of War who will make sure things go the way they are supposed to, you just need to prepare yourself."
"And since I am forcefully changing the time and the location of your rebirth, there will be some side effects. Some memories will be damaged, and some completely forgotten or locked deep within your psyche."
"You won't even know you have them until you meet the 'spirit medium' and the last caretaker of the planet which act as "its" final imprisonment. Use her abilities to rediscover lost memories but make sure she doesn't know the full truth."
*Zzzzzppp*
The scene froze and became disjointed for a few seconds before continuing again.
"These are the names of the three people that will have to be infected no matter the cost. The first one is a girl with the name of "Natalia". She is one of the prodigal geniuses directly connected to the Church of the Sacred Light, a purifier." (CH 512)
"The second one is actually someone that is an anomaly in and of itself. The personal disciple of 'Abyss Walker'. I don't much remember who that person is or what they look like, only that they have the appearance of a female human. You'll have the opportunity to meet her yourself."
"The third and last one is a mortal man. He will be a native of that world and you will naturally come across him along your travels. His name is Jax."
*RUUMBLEEEE*
The entire tower shook as a stifled roar resounded through the entire structure. The Emperor's expression, or what could be seen of it turned sour.
"He's already here. I underestimated his strength."
He reached out into his robe and pulled out a gla.s.s globe with particles of white light floating inside it.
"I was hoping to tell you everything myself but it looks like we don't have the time for that. This contains all the necessary information required for you to accomplish your task. I have tried my best to provide you with some support while you're there but I am not sure if they will survive the test of time."
*TREEEEMBLE*
Another shockwave hit the tower, this one much stronger than the last.
"Quickly, crush the orb to absorb all the information. And..."
Jin w.a.n.g waited for him to finish but the emperor simply could not find the words.
"What? Spit it out already, you're the one who said we're low on time!" he berated.
The Emperor shook his head before taking a reluctant step back.
"You will meet someone there, a boy named Hao Xuan. I have left some instructions about him within the orb, all you need to do is follow them. It won't make sense now but just make sure he meets the three-eyed general."
"He'll need your help a couple of times after that so do what you can but you must not interfere or try to change anything he does. It is vital that he personally experiences everything that comes his way."
"You will want to intervene near the end but know that it is all necessary. Everything that will happen to him NEEDS to happen, otherwise, the timeline will not be the same. I ho-"
*RUUUUMBLE*
The memory skipped again. The next scene showed the Emperor standing in the doorway.
"I hope we can meet again, old friend. There is much that needs to be said but...alas."
A gigantic figure suddenly appeared outside the tower. It was so big that only a single claw was visible through the doorway. It shot forth with the momentum of a shooting star, closing in on the tower. The Emperor's back was towards the creature as he faced Jin w.a.n.g with an apologetic smile.
"I will hold the door until you depart," he said while extending his hand. The s.p.a.ce s.h.i.+fted around his body before a gold and black armor enshrined him within. His aura continued to rise until Jin w.a.n.g's vision went dark.
*BOOOOOM*
With a final flash of bright light followed by an earth-shattering explosion, the memory finally came to a stop.
The water was boiling by this point and when Jin w.a.n.g finally pulled out his feet they were tainted red and letting out white fumes, although barely.
Yet Jin w.a.n.g's gaze was still fixated on the water's empty surface as he spoke to himself.
"The orb was damaged in the last battle and I wasn't able to absorb a large chunk of the information, especially related to Hao Xuan."
"I still don't understand what your plan is for him. He is connected to so many things yet even without him, the outcome would not change much. So why is he important? I did what you asked for but it does not bode well for him. Even the 'Moon' has its eyes on him."
*Sigh*
"I truly hope whatever you planned for him will not be too dangerous. I have grown to like him quite a lot, old friend.. Don't cast him as another sacrifice in your plans. "
