When Jia Li's models were ready to fall in line, Marié caught a glimpse of the dresses and her eyes widened in shock as she couldn't believe that Jia Li could come up with this kind of concept.

She had no idea that Jia Li has been working so hard just to deliver those impactful designs which would be on par with hers. Somehow, she didn't want to admit that her designs surpa.s.sed hers, she still had hope that she would come first just like before.

"Did JL use real stones or fake stones on her dresses?" One of them asked with her gaze on the television.

The designers who have already displayed their works, were currently at the backstage, watching the television which displayed what was going on on the runway.

"It's not possible to use fake materials on the clothes, she will get punished, so I think she used the real deal here."

"Using a fake material on the goods marketed by FJ will surely drag the prestige of the company to the mud, so she wouldn't try that."

"But if she used real stones on her dresses, how did she do that? Our budgets are the same and even if we wanted to use precious stones, it will be limited." Another person said.

"I think we should mind our words and wait for her to come back and then we can ask the questions we want instead of standing here and maligning her name." Linda said.

She was more curious as to how Jia Li came up with her new concept for the compet.i.tion than at how she got a higher budget than them.

"But I must say that her clothes are beautiful." Another said.

"I must ask her for her secret because she has blown my mind away." Another person said with a sweet smile.

Listening to all of them compliment Jia Li's design, Marié squeezed her palms in jealousy. Before any of them saw Jia Li's clothes, they complimented her but when JL's clothes came to their view, they forgot about hers to focus on Jia Li's.

During the preparation for this compet.i.tion, Marié has been overconfident about her designs and so didn't put in the amount of effort Jia Li did.

A great percentage of Marié's attention, was on her model friends, as she wanted to invite the best people to wear her clothes for this very day. She forgot that Jia Li has always been goal-oriented and wouldn't mind putting in all her time and sweat to get things done perfectly.

Marié was still unaware that today was the beginning of her losing her crown as the Top newbie FJ has, from her set.

After her designs were displayed, Jia Li came out to show her face as the designer of the J-mine collection before going backstage. Somehow, she was glad to be the last, since she had enough time to calm her heartbeats which was almost at the level to cause her a heart attack.

Because of her nervousness, Jia Li did not glance around to see the guests, so she did not see the Fu family and her little bun that looked shocked to see her mother on stage.

Jasmine glanced at her great-grandfather who was holding her in her arms, before glancing at her mother again after he pointed her out to her.

Jasmine looked surprised as she pointed at the familiar figure on the stage before looking back at her great-grandfather for confirmation.

If Jia Li's dresses were not eye-catching, I bet you that a great number of people wouldn't pay attention to it, as their attention would have been divided.

The little princess of the Fu family attracted a lot of attention. The other guests were already overwhelmed by the Fu family's presence but when their eyes caught sight of the little bun who was in the arms of old general Fu, they were dazed.

So since the Fu family made their grand entrance, all eyes had been on the little bun. And it looked like the little girl understood that she was in public and was being very obedient.

If Jasmine wasn't taught properly, she would have started crying the moment she saw her mother on stage but she didn't cry, she was more surprised than any other emotion she felt.

Immediately, Jia Li went backstage, Linda hugged her and praised her for her wonderful works.

"Your bleeding nose was a price worth paying for your spectacular works today." Linda said with a friendly smile.

Jia Li whose emotions were now back to normal smiled and thanked Linda for her compliments before the rest of their colleagues surrounded her.

Marié couldn't stand the praises Jia Li was receiving and s.h.i.+fted to a faraway corner to sit and press her phone.

"JL, how did you get so many stones for your dresses with the limited budget we had?" One of them asked with a curious gaze.

"You should have waited till the end of the show to ask this question." Another person said with a frown as he thought it wasn't polite to jump straight to that question.

Now that the show was almost coming to an end, Jia Li had no problem revealing her secret, so she said to them, "The budget was indeed tight but the designs I created required those stones, so I spoke to Miss Sunny to see if I could take out money from my purse and she said I could, so I used my money to make the purchase."

When Jia Li submitted her designs for Sunny's approval, Sunny had told her that her designs would cost a lot for production and she would exceed the budget limit given to her.

"You can't produce this, as it exceeds the budget limit given to you." Sunny had said after glancing at her ill.u.s.trations.

"I know about it, so I prepared a proposal. Can I take out money from my purse to do this?" Jia Li asked.

Sunny stared at her with a surprised gaze and asked, "You want to use your money for this?"

"Yes. I do not want to improvise on my designs and alter the initial designs if possible, so if I am allowed to use my money, then I will." Jia Li replied.
