Chapter 81 - Do You Think I Am Stupid?

Li Luxian eyes glimmered with mirth.

Indeed, she was a sly fox. The type that would learn fast. Li Luxian couldn't use the same trick on her twice. "You get to prove your point?"

"Prove my point." Chen Yi quietly placed a finger under her chin as if silently pondering. Then she looked down at her crafty husband and smiled vividly. 

Her flamboyant smile tugged at the heartstrings of a certain someone. Li Luxian pupils constricted. Once again, his fingers slowly curled into fists. Practicing tremendous self-restraint, he stopped himself from doing her right there. 

But his hand was out of Chen Yi's field of vision. She could not have seen the effects her proximity and smiles had upon that Devil and dared to continue provoking him. "What use would be proving my point when I already know it is right?"

"But I don't." Li Luxian patiently replied. "After this, you will have me convinced that you are truly as bold as you claim to be."

Chen Yi cherry red lips pressed into a thin line. With a disapproving gaze, she accessed Li Luxian. She s.h.i.+fted in her position, putting more weight on her knee that rested atop the couch while getting closer to Li Luxian pulling onto his necktie. At the same, she placed her hand at the side of his head; she totally entrapped Li Luxian leaving him no way but to focus on her beautiful face. "Mr. Li, do you really think I am this stupid?"

"You most definitely aren't." Li Luxian chuckled. His smile turned increasingly tempting. As Chen Yi glare intensified, he finally responded. "Fine." His long fingers grasped her chin, bringing her face even closer to him. "If you able to do something to influence me, I will consider allowing you to get a separate residence."

"Influence you?" Chen Yi's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "That's too vague. I need to know the specifics."

At her words, Li Luxian was speechless for a while. Then he recalled, of course, she was inexperienced. Her confusion was only right. With a teasing smirk, he remarked. "Very cautious, aren't you?"

"With someone as cunning as my dear hubby, the more, the less." Chen Yi reb.u.t.ted.

She was right. After all, she had first-hand experience of how crafty her hubby could be. 

"If you can get a response out of me." He stated in explanation. "I will give you a chance."

"Response?" Chen Yi furrows only deepened at his answer. 

Li Luxian silently raised an eyebrow at her. A side of his lips curled up slightly. Did he still not understand him? Would he have to be even more specific?

"Ah! That response!" Suddenly, Chen Yi shouted as if she just had had an epiphany. 

Li Luxian eyes lingered on her limpid eyes that were looking at him as if asking for affirmation. With his own smile becoming more p.r.o.nounced, he stated. "Yes, exactly that response."

Hearing his words, Chen Yi realized how chucklesome her reactions would have sounded. As a result, her cheeks gained a tinge of red. Coughing lightly to distract herself, she once again concentrated on those magnetic eyes.

"So, Mr. Li, let's be clear. If I manage to elicit that response out of you, you will consider allowing me to stay separately?" Chen Yi asked seriously. She was determined to win this one.

Li Luxian hummed in response; his eyes were too occupied with the beauty on top of him.

"You better not go back on your words!"

"I won't."

Taking a deep breath, she decided. "Close your eyes." She said; her eyes gleaming in determination.

Li Luxian frowned.

"For what I am going to do, you must have your eyes closed for it to be effective!" She explained. 

Actually, it was just an excuse. She just didn't have the guts to do something when those deep abysses like eyes that gleamed with great insight peeked into her soul. For all that it matters, whenever Li Luxian would gaze into her eyes, Chen Yi would have a feeling as if he could see through her and read her each and every thought.

This feeling, although was unique and to some extent, beautiful, Chen Yi was not yet ready to put herself in front of someone, completely vulnerable and readable without any walls of protection.

The walls around her heart might have started to weaken around this man; she might have admitted that he was the only one capable of overcoming them, the walls had yet to be conquered. Come what may, there was still a lot to be done.

Li Luxian could see the hesitation in Chen Yi's heart. "Alright." He closed his eyes without any question, handing over all the absolute control to the woman before him.

Chen Yi was slightly surprised at his questionless obedience. 

"You promise you won't open your eyes?"

"I won't."

"No matter what I do, you must not open your eyes or you lose, alright?"

"...Alright."

With a gulp, Chen Yi tried to calm her racing heart. She had not yet even touched him but her heart had already gone into overdrive. It was not that she did not know what to do. It was just that, at that time when she had read about this in the novel while hiding in her blanket, it looked so easy.

But now, with a real man at her hand, Chen Yi didn't know how to execute it smoothly. The fact that this man was exceptionally handsome didn't help. Instead, it added to her misery.

Why did he have to be so handsome?! Could he not have just mediocre looks! It would have been so much easier to execute her plan if he had an average face. Now whenever she thought of nearing him, she felt like her heart would crawl out of her throat and dash out of the room on its own.

Finally, settling her heart, she s.h.i.+fted closer towards him, putting her other knee on the couch, finally straddling him completely.
