Chapter 106: Cooperation
Manager Du smiled happily, but he still maintained his professional att.i.tude while working. "We'll make sure to promote the flower and please remember that the auction house will be taking 10 percent of the profit."
Lin Xiao nodded. His heart skipped a beat when he heard that they would take 10 percent of the profit. It would be quite a lot, but thinking about selling the flower himself, Lin Xiao knew that he wouldn't be able to do that.
It would be better to just leave it in the hand of those who were good and could be trusted.
Hmm, there was also the matter of the other auction house, but Lin Xiao had no intention of going there after what had happened. Even though he didn't know much about this auction house, he knew for sure that this one treated its customer better than the other one.
Hehehe, the profit was of course another matter to think.
"Master Lin?" Manager Du called.
Lin Xiao was stunned when he heard the way Manager Du called him. If he had acted like a young master for a long time, he might get used to it, but right now, he was nothing more than a little kid who had just come out from the village.
After being treated as a brat most of the time, it sounded uncomfortable to have someone else treating him so politely.
"Ah, Manager Du, there's no need to be so….polite."
The pause was not because Lin Xiao wanted to, but it was because his younger brother had already jabbed his back just now. It was not painful, but Lin Xiao knew that his brother was reminding him.
In Lin Yun's mind, he was berating his older brother a thousand times over. How could he still act like a country b.u.mpkin at a time like this?
Look!
Look at the way the manager looked at him, ah!
It was clear that the manager mistook him for some young master from n.o.ble family with how polite he was treating Lin Xiao. Even though Lin Yun didn't know the reason, he could at least read this much.
Why did his brother have to be so stupid?
Even Wenren Yu was resisting the urge to hit Lin Xiao. If not because he had already seen himself as Lin Xiao's servant, he would surely reprimand Lin Xiao for not being able to read the situation properly.
Manager Du laughed. "I can't possibly do that, but if you insist, I'll call you Mister Lin."
"That's better." Lin Xiao coughed lightly and then looked at the people behind Manager Du, trying to shake off the atmosphere.
Unfortunately, Manager Du mistook his gaze. He looked at the employees behind his back and smiled. "Did they offend you in any way, Mister Lin? If they do, I would like to apologize in advance as it's very unbecoming of them to act that way."
"Huh? No, they didn't act rude at all." Lin Xiao quickly denied that.
Lin Yun chose to step in and smiled at Manager Du. "Don't worry about your employee, Manager Du, they're all very polite. We have already seen ruder people on our way here, so it's nothing much."
"Ah, I see. I'm glad that they treat you well," Manager Du replied with a smile. Internally, he was silently gloating. From the way Lin Yun inferred it, he could guess that they were talking about the other auction house, Feng Nian Auction House that was located right across them.
If they knew that they had just lost a big fish because they were rude, how would their face be?
Somehow, Manager Du had the urge to gloat on their faces and laugh at their misfortune. Hmm… that seems like something he should do for the next few days. Those guys at Feng Nian Auction House must not know what have befallen them.
Thus, for the next few days, Manager Du bothered the other auction house so much that they wanted to vomit blood.
"Also, I would like you to keep my ident.i.ty a secret," Lin Xiao added. He had just recalled that with his current strength, it wouldn't be good for him to attract unwanted attention. Fighting against some strangers because of treasure would be very miserable.
"Don't worry, we all have upright principle and naturally will not leak out our customer's ident.i.ty," Manager Du rea.s.sured them.
"That's good."
"Mister Lin, if you have other goods, you can directly come to this auction house. This senior staff, Zhongsun Shan will be responsible for the purchase of the goods." Manager Du pointed at the staff behind him, trying to build more connection with Lin Xiao and his friends.
He might not know their real ident.i.ty, but Manager Du could guess that to be able to get these herbs, they must not be ordinary. As for how it would turn out in the future, it would be something that he only needed to worry in the future.
For now, it was better for him to establish a good connection with him.
Lin Xiao looked at Zhongsun Shan. In fact, he had been wondering about this man ever since he saw him in the counter before because of the different token color. However, he naturally was not brave enough to ask the question so openly.
"How should I contact you, Mister Zhongsun?"
Zhongsun Shan smiled then took out a communication jade. Communication Jade was a communication device that was made of Jade. When it was not activated, it would look no different from ordinary piece of jade that could be found everywhere.
"That's…?"
"This is Communication Jade. Does Mister Lin have one?"
Lin Xiao shook his head, feeling a bit awkward. It seemed that for cultivators, having communication jade was important, yet he didn't have any.
He felt really awkward. d.a.m.n it, he should have asked Elder w.a.n.g more about the important things in the world. After all, he had been living in such remote place for a long time.
