Chapter 269: Pa.s.sing the Border
"It's over…" Lin Xiao's eyes were peeled to the guard as he looked in astonishment. It was also the absolute truth that he was incapable of fighting against beast at such level no matter what was said.
Just a few days ago, he had been fighting against a Black Tinder Boar, a beast rank 5 that managed to get close to their cave. But in that brutal fight, they only managed to scare it away and not defeat it.
But in front of him, those four clearly didn't give it their all and yet they were still defeating the beast so easily.
The contrast… was too much.
Prince Lin Yan sighed and looked at the four others. They were all clearly in trance as they were fixated on the fight just now. They must have some of their own revelation from the fight before.
"Go to rest."
"Yes!"
The four of them were obedient and returned back to their resting place. Lin Xiao was faintly recalling the fight just now.
They were fighting… so beautifully. While it might not be the best term, but it was what Lin Xiao felt from the way they fought. They were reckless, unrestrained, and more importantly, the nature was responding to them.
The nature was responding?
Does it meant that those who were at Golden Core Stage were already capable of affecting the world with just their word and action? Lin Xiao's eyes gleamed when he thought about it. How should one do it….
While Lin Xiao was in deep contemplation about Golden Core Stage, Lin Hu was looking at the Qi movement around Lin Xiao's body. As Lin Xiao was too focused on his mind, he didn't realize that the Qi was also moving in accordance to his move.
He was already close to Golden Core Stage or at least, half Golden Core Stage.
After all, Lin Xiao's amount of Qi in his dantian was still far from enough. However, his realization about Golden Core Stage would help him greatly when it was his time to form his core.
Suddenly, the Qi rushed into Lin Xiao's body rapidly.
Lin Hu nearly cursed out loudly but he saw that Lin Xiao had closed his eyes, trying his best to make the Qi worked in accordance to his wishes.
'You're only at Foundation Establishment but you already want to make connection to the nature?' Lin Hu felt that Lin Xiao was really reckless but the continuous stream of Qi that poured inside helped him to gradually build his power.
As he was at a rank higher than Lin Xiao, it was only natural that he needed more resources than Lin Xiao. This was one of the reasons why Lin Xiao's progress seemed slow while he was supposed to be quick.
He was absorbing the resources that was required for two people, one at higher stage than him. This would certainly slow down his progress when he was still at lower rank and would only stop hindering him when it was at higher stage.
Hmm, he should help a bit to ease Lin Xiao's burden.
When it was morning, Lin Xiao had just finished his cultivation. Normally, he would need to rest but at this time, there was not even the slightest bit of tiredness in his eyes. Instead, he looked energetic.
However, Prince Lin Yan noticed that there was something different about his little brother.
"What did you do last night?"
"Cultivating." Lin Xiao looked at his older brother in confusion. What else would he do aside from training and cultivating?
Prince Lin Yan didn't say anything more.
After the action last night, more than half the previous entourage had left. The one who took note of their attendance was a middle aged man.
"You've left yesterday, so you can leave now." The middle aged man pointed to one of them.
The man was stunned. He looked at the middle aged man with wronged expression. "I didn't run away. I was only hiding to attack."
The middle aged man sneered. "If you really think that you can hide and attack with such poor excuse, you should leave."
"You…"
Swis.h.!.+
Before the man could say anything else, a dagger stopped in front of him. It was certainly controlled by the middle aged man who was standing near the carriage. His eyes were cold. "Leave."
"Alright! d.a.m.n it!"
"You, you, and you too."
Those who were pointed at were all heading back dejectedly. They were all trying to hide the fact that they had actually ran away yesterday but they didn't expect that their lies would be found out so quickly. With no other choice, they had to leave.
Lin Xiao watched them all left and felt that the one who issued the mission must have paid close attention to their action yesterday.
'I was only thinking of fighting a bit yesterday as a way of practice, though.'
Lin Xiao was confident that Prince Lin Yan would not let him die in the hands of those two beasts. Besides, he was not alone in this place and naturally would not be that worried about losing his life.
Well, just a bit worried.
But cultivation world was a dangerous world. There was no need for him to be on edge all the time and just had to make sure that he would be careful enough to not die so quickly.
"He's already so powerful but he didn't make a move yesterday."
"He can't."
"Yes?"
"He can't move from the carriage." Prince Lin Yan's lips curled up. How could he notice that there were two people inside the carriage and that it would be difficult for one of them to leave.
If that middle aged man were to leave the carriage, he would be leaving the other person to danger.
Probably, the person inside was wounded or something.
Thus, this mission was created. They would not care about how many people would die as long as they were protected to cross the border.
"Let's go!"
