Chapter 112 Defending Her Savior
As they prepared to get on their knees, Madam Qin shot up to her feet in fright. She leaned forward and stopped Yao Yuan. “Let me get this straight. Are you saying that that niece of yours is… promiscuous?” Madam Qin had to speak through gritted teeth as the words were too vile for her.
She couldn’t bring herself to believe Yao Yuan. That beautiful and talented girl had treated an illness that had plaguedJingjingfor so long. To be honest,Madam Qindidn’t think that her own son was good enough to deserve her.
And now, Yao Yuanbarged into their home claiming that her daughter’s savior was an immoral young lady?
It was ridiculous.
!!“That’s right, Madam Qin. Why, she even bullied ourRanran, who is always so gentle and well-behaved. Not to mention, Yao Tangis always running around with delinquents and picking fights at school. I might be able to overlook that, but she really shouldn’t have deceived Young Master Qin.”Yao Yuansighed again, looking like he bore the weight of the world on his shoulders.
Madam Qin was very confused at this point. “How is that possible? That child looks well-behaved and quite intelligent. Besides, doesn’t theYao familyimpose a strict upbringing? Why would you have someone So… so indecent in your home?”
“Oh, no, you don’t understand, Madam Qin.Yao Tanggrew up in the countryside. Her education and way of life were greatly influenced by her surroundings, and she unfortunately brought her bad habits along when we took her into our home. Indeed, she is unlike myRanran, who respects her elders and always abides by the rules of theYao family.”
Yao Yuan cleared his throat before voicing out the whole point of their visit: “In my opinion, only myRanranis worthy of the Young Master Qin.”
Beside him, Yao Ranblushed and fluttered her eyelashes.
“Is that so?” Madam Qinasked softly, her lips curling with a hint of a smile.
“Why don’t you come closer and let me take a look?”
At that precise moment, an angry cry rang out from above them. In the next second, a young lady was bounding down the stairs. “I won’t allow you to slander Yao Tangas you like! You are the ones who are immoral and disrespectful!”
All three heads turned in the direction of the voice.
Qin Jing’s yellow dress billowed behind her as she stomped over to them.
She had a small stature and an adorable face, which was currently twisted into an expression of rage.
“Jingjing, don’t be rude to our guests!” Madam Qinchided halfheartedly, pretending to be mad at her daughter’s sudden tantrum.
Yao Ran, on the other hand, was so surprised that she didn’t even realize she was gaping at Qin Jing. This was the beloved daughter of the Qin family, touted as their most treasured
pearl.
It was quite understandable, since she was the only girl in her generation.
But these were trivial details. What was shocking to Yao Ran was the fact that the Qin family’s treasure was so protective of Yao Ran. She was outraged by this development, yet curious at the same time.
“Mom, don’t listen to what these people are telling you. My cla.s.smates told me everything that has been going on over at No. 1 High School, and none of it is as they said!”Qin Jingglared at father and daughter, not caring to hide her disgust.
If it hadn’t been for Yao Tang, who knew when her body would have recovered?
She wanted to thank her savior properly and make the most of the second shot at life that she had been given.
Qin Jing hadn’t expected to hear news aboutYao Tangfrom her cla.s.smates, but the rumors were rampant. Everybody was badmouthing her on the forum.
She would have thought that the Yao familywould clear things up and defend her, but here they were, practically pus.h.i.+ngYao Tangdeeper into the mud. How despicable!
“Aren’t you Yao Tang’s relatives?”Qin Jingdemanded, her voice rising with every word she spoke. “Why are you listening to what other people say? Don’t you trust Yao Tangat all? She would never do these things!”
Although they had only met once, Qin Jinghad a knack for knowing a person’s character at a glance.
Yao Yuan stiffened and looked betweenMadam QinandQin Jingawkwardly. As an elder, he couldn’t possibly insist on the depravity of a younger member of their family. Otherwise, it would bring their manner of raising children into question.
“Well, Miss Qin,” Yao Ranspoke up, flas.h.i.+ngQin Jinga warm smile. “Please, may I ask you to calm down and let us explain?”
Her tone was imploring, her expression helpless.
“We are indeed Yao Tang’s family, and we naturally don’t want to make any wild guesses on this sensitive issue. In fact, we called her up last night, intending to help her out of the situation, but we only got berated by her and her peers. I’m afraid there’s nothing we can do at this point.”
Yao Yuan glanced at her out of the corner of his eye. As expected of his daughter!Yao Ranwas truly capable.
“Ha! Then, do you have any proof of these accusations?” Qin Jingasked sharply. “Did you seeYao Tangengage in such activities with your own eyes, huh?”
Yao Yuan’s jaw dropped. He didn’t know what to say to that. Of course, they hadn’t seen anything!
But when had the young lady of the Qin family become so close to Yao Tang? They hadn’t accounted for this possibility at all!
“I’m sure you know that it isn’t appropriate for us to pry into her private matters,” Yao Rancountered. “Especially something so personal.”
“Oh? Then that only means you have no proof whatsoever. To be blunt, you subscribed to the rumor mill and believed everything you saw on the Internet without even verifying the facts. Then you come into my house spouting all your baseless nonsense, expecting us to buy the fake information you peddle. I swear, if I had relatives like you, I would consider it the greatest misfortune of my life!”
Even with her mother present, Qin Jingdidn’t hold back at all and unleashed all her grievances.
She didn’t think she was doing anything wrong, it was the Yao familywho had crossed the line this time.
It was no wonder that Yao Tangdidn’t want to stay with them. Thankfully,Qin Jingwas here to refute their claims, or anyone who heard them would have surely believed the worst ofYao Tang
