Chapter 202: Cantonese Tea and Dimsum
After the banquet had ended, everyone was ready to bid farewell. Mrs. Qin looked at the friends of Qin Jing with a smile on her face. “Why don’t I send you off?”
“Mrs. Qin, it’s fine.” Lin Xin insisted, standing beside Yao Tang. “There’s really no need to send us off.”
After all, Mrs. Qin was already very accommodating throughout their entire stay.
Despite this, Mrs. Qin still was insistent. Qin Rui stood by the entranceway, with a matching smile on his face with Qin Jing following not far behind.
“You are all Jingjing’s good friends. It’s only natural to send you off myself,” she reasoned. “I have heard from Jingjing how nice and understanding you’ve all been to her, and I wanted to thank you. In fact, I’ve prepared a few gifts.”
!!Mrs. Qin pointed to the back, and everyone saw Uncle w.a.n.g carrying bags of gifts. On each bag were their names carefully scribbled on the bag. There was one for each of them.
The Qin Family handed them gifts.
“Let’s go!”
After receiving their gifts, everyone waved to say goodbye. Lin Xin, Meng Yang, and the others had already retreated to their cars to head back to school. Yao Tang stood on the sidewalk, waving at them.
“See ya!” Lin Xin shot her a wink.
Cheng Yan stood by the car door not far away. The streetlight highlighted his sharp features, and he glanced to the side, waiting for her.
Yao Tang was dressed quite elegantly, like a swan who had just bloomed from the lake. There was a sense of coldness in her gaze, but it only made her all the more alluring.
As she approached, Cheng Yan reached out for the car door and entered with her. “Drive to the City Center,” he told the driver, leaning against his seat.
“You got it, Boss.” The driver nodded.
“Where are we going?” She raised her eyebrows.
He handed her a cup of warm oat milk and answered,
“I was thinking of eating out for today. There’s a new Cantonese restaurant right down the road. They offer tea and some dimsum. What do you think?”
Cheng Yan tilted his head.
Everyone was drinking quite a lot tonight to celebrate Qin Jing’s birthday. The happier they were, the more they drank. By the end of the night, all of them were chaotic.
Yao Tang had only drunk five cups of wine.
She also didn’t eat much. Cheng Yan took one glance at her slender figure and shook his head with a sigh.
She was too skinny!
She had to eat more.
“Sure.” She shrugged, pulling out her hairpin.
In an instant, her smooth black hair fell to her back, stopping a few inches above her waist. Her hair glinted under the moonlight, attracting his attention.
She looked beautiful.
This was the first time Cheng Yan had ever seen her so soft and feminine. Stunned, he couldn’t find it in himself to look away.
His gaze slowly moved down from her dark hair to her soft neck and perfectly proportioned body. She looked like a model who was ready to walk the runway at any moment in time.
Just then, the driver’s words echoed across the car. “Young Master Cheng, we have arrived.”
The Qin Family Mansion was quite close to the City Center, so the car ride didn’t take long.
Yao Tang got out of the car and walked with him into Mei La, the Cantonese Tea, and Dimsum Restaurant. She looked around only to see a few lanterns propped up in the ceiling with golden vases placed in every corner of the room.
Although Dimsum was one of their best sellers, there were also different dishes available for other people. All in all, their servings were small and more suitable for people who came for a light meal.
Within a few minutes after they ordered, the plates have arrived.
Hakaw, Shumai, Rice Chicken, Steamed Chicken feat—all of these were laid out on the table. Cheng Yan had also ordered a gla.s.s of ginger milk for Yao Tang. It was refres.h.i.+ng.
Yao Tang picked up her chopsticks and started to eat. Her face showed no expression as to whether or not she liked it, but Cheng Yan wasn’t bothered. He leaned back. “If the Yao Family are annoying you, I can deal with that.”
Although, he didn’t particularly say how he would deal with it.
However, with Cheng Yan “dealing with it”, the most probable way was to directly attack the Yao business.
They would be too busy saving their a.s.ses that they wouldn’t have time to bother her.
