Chapter 307: Too Good to Be True
Just as their discussion had started, Brother Cheng must’ve heard Yao Tang’s name and rushed out of the room. The executives all shared a look, wondering what might have happened.
Qin Hao suppressed a groan. He should’ve asked for a leave ten years ago, maybe then he’d be free from this mess.
Every time he encountered Yao Tang, it seemed as if more problems were being propped up on his plate. The last thing he wanted was to pile it up even more.
With a sigh, he was just about to get into the car when Cheng Yan turned down the window.
“Go and negotiate with the other men,” he called out. “Finish the paperwork and have them submitted to me.”
!!“I…”
Qin Hao was about to say something else when the window had already closed. It was too late to respond as Cheng Yan had already driven away. He gaped at the retreating vehicle.
What the f.u.c.k was he going to do now?
Cheng Yan sent Yao Tangback to her apartment, before finally leaving.
Not long after she had returned to her room, a knock came on her door.
As soon as Yao Tang opened the door, she saw Qin Ruiand Lu Mingstanding side-by-side. Their anxious gazes landed on her. “Yao Tang,” Qin Ruiwas the first one to speak. “Are you okay? I just woke up, and the guards have already me away before I can speak with you. Lu Qing—he didn’t hurt you, did he?”
The bodyguards had already knocked him unconscious when he was trying to protect her. When he woke up, he was surprised to see he was in the car, and as such was adamant about finding Yao Tang.
When Lu Ming had already told him everything that happened, they drove all the way here.
“I’m fine.”
With a shrug, she opened the door for them to come in.
Lu Ming limped inside. After taking such a beating, he shouldn’t be able to walk in the first place. However, after taking the pills Yao Tanghad given him, he was able to start walking again.
He slowly sat on the stool.
“How are you holding up?”
Lu Ming slowly nodded. “Thanks to the pills you’ve given me, I’m feeling much better now. It’s just that I couldn’t stand for too long, but it’s still better than nothing.”
“Hm.”
Yao Tang placed her fingers on his wrist, and he inhaled sharply. A tingle of warmth shot through his skin, and he glanced up at Qin Rui.
On the way here, he had told him that Yao Tang was confident about curing his illness. Now that he saw what she was capable of from the pill alone, he couldn’t help but feel hopeful despite his situation.
Could he really be cured?
After all, the woman had already proven she was a miracle worker with the pill he ate. Not only did it improve his physical strength, but also increased his endurance.
If Yao Tang really was the expert, perhaps there was a possibility that his illness could be cured.
Lu Ming’s heart pounded with antic.i.p.ation. When he thought about how he could potentially recover, he couldn’t help but feel like jumping from his seat.
Very soon, she released her hold on him.
He took a deep breath. “Do you really think I can be cured?”
“Yes.”
Ignoring his bandaged wounds, Lu Ming staggered from his seat. “You’re sure?” he asked urgently. “You’re really sure that I can be cured?”
He hoped to G.o.d that this was true.
If he couldn’t get better, then he’d be continually looked down upon by many of his family members. His fingernails dug deeper into his palm.
He’d accept any improvement regarding his state. It was fine if he wasn’t the same as before.
“The round of treatment will take fifteen days.” Yao Tang indicated that he seat up properly before taking a deep breath. “You’ll need three rounds for this to work.”
Darkness clouded his vision and he gazed down at his feat.
“But…”
Ever since the incident, his family had searched far and wide for famous doctors to treat and, hopefully, cure him. However, this search was fruitless.
The doctors had stated that he had no hope of recovering. Others didn’t even know how to label this illness of his.
Yet Yao Tang had said that she could cure him in one and a half months? Wasn’t this too good to be true?
