Chapter 408: Underachievers
A hint of pride flashed across her eyes when Yan Wei noticed the nervousness on Teacher Xi’s face. It seemed that she had finally caught her off guard.
“If this was done by a student from your school, then I’m afraid it would reflect badly on your reputation, would it not?”
“If this was done by Yan Yu, then it wouldn’t have anything to do with your school. In fact, it would be an internal matter between him and our school. Do you understand what I’m trying to say?” Her smile widened.
Yang Nian frowned.
It was due to a previous incident that Yan Yu and the others were no longer welcome in International Middle School. He drummed his fingers onto the table.
!!In reality, while they were still recognized as former students of their school, they aren’t exactly their responsibility anymore.
The higher-ups wanted to exclude them totally.
While harsh, they could understand why they did it.
The school didn’t need underachieving students.
Sure, the administration said something along the lines of how “they’d be grateful once they manage to come back”, and how “once they’re back on their feet, they’ll always be welcome”.
But in reality, they already knew the facts. As long as they still couldn’t up their grades, the school wouldn’t accept them.
This also came with the condition that they shouldn’t reveal any information or distribute any official papers listed out by the International Middle School.
If their school were to find out about this, then the administration would immediately delete all of their school records. It was like they didn’t even exist to them.
They would never be allowed to return there.
Yang Nian could only watch silently as the case unfolded.
He didn’t really know what to say.
He obviously had to side with Yan Wei on this one.
However, just then, a monotonous voice echoed across the cla.s.sroom.
“I was the one who brought the test papers and review materials over. Is there a problem?”
They turned around in the direction of the speaker, only to see Yao Tang lying on the table. She gazed up at them almost lazily, as if annoyed that she had been disturbed.
Had she just woken up?
At the sight, a flash of displeasure appeared in Yan Wei’s expression.
“It’s you?”
The students of Cla.s.s 20 were also extremely nervous.
The last thing they needed was for Yao Tang to take the blame for all of them.
If what Yang Nian and Yan Weisaid was true, then this was a severe offense between schools.
If Yao Tang took the blame for this, then outsiders would start badmouthing her and using this offense to bring her down further. They just wouldn’t have it!
“Sister Tang,” one spoke up. “This has nothing to do with you. We found the review materials ourselves.”
“Yes, we bought it.”
“We didn’t know that this was against the rules! The person said that all the review materials we had bought came from the official channels. How were we supposed to find out otherwise?”
“Yeah!”
Yan Wei’s lips curled into a mocking smile.
What were they even thinking?
It seemed that Yao Tang had already led them all to their deaths.
“You might not know this, but the review materials being sold have serial numbers on their back covers.”
Yan Wei tilted her head. “All I have to do now is to scan the code at the back of your review materials to know whether or not your books are bought internally, or externally.”
Everyone in Cla.s.s 20 froze, glancing over at Yang Nian.
“Is that true?” Meng Yang questioned.
They trusted Yang Nian more than Yan Wei.
Despite this, she didn’t appear angry. Instead, she simply leaned back in her seat.
“Yes, it’s true.”
Everyone shared glances, unsure of what to do.
