Just then, Jiang Wan appeared from the kitchen just as they had gone down the steps. She seemed to be holding a small bag in her hands.

Her eyes widened in surprise upon seeing her daughter. She didn’t think that Yao Tang would be arriving here today, but as soon as she saw Yao Yan, she knew who had brought her here.

“The room is not fully furnished yet. Why did you bring her here?”

“I happened to be free this afternoon, so I thought of bringing her here.” He smiled. “I thought that we could have dinner together as a family.”
