Chapter 457: You’re Nothing
Translator: Tuiwen Editor: Tuiwen
Yao Tang thought for a moment before saying, “Not counting those that had been distributed, there should be another truckload.” She shrugged.
Initially, upon seeing the expression on her face, Yan Wei couldn’t help but feel a little worried.
However, when she finally heard what she had to say, a sense of amus.e.m.e.nt flooded over her. She heaved a sigh of relief, and she smirked.
A carload?
How was that possible?
!!“Perhaps, you’re talking about a bike. Not a truck.” Yan Wei snorted.
However, Yao Tang didn’t say anything to deny it. Instead, she nodded. “I’m talking about a big truck,” she stated matter-of-factly.
The woman burst into laughter as she clutched her stomach. A flash of disappointment appeared in Yang Nian’s eyes, but he didn’t say a word.
His screen suddenly flashed back to life as he glanced over at the contact name. Without another word, he grabbed his phone and walked out of the cla.s.sroom, leaving them alone.
Only upon leaving did Yan Wei feel more at ease.
Her face was as arrogant as her words.
“You’re telling me that you’re bringing a truckload of review materials all the way from International Middle School? Do you really think I’d believe you?” Yan Wei rolled her eyes, flipping her hair over her shoulders.
“If you don’t have it, just tell the truth. You don’t have to talk so arrogantly and make us laugh.”
She shot her a disdainful glance.
“Please, you’re nothing. Just because you haven’t seen it before doesn’t mean that it wouldn’t happen.” Qin Jingcrossed her arms over her chest.
Lin Xin shook her head. “I don’t like it when people act that way.”
“Don’t you think?” Qin Jing sighed. “She’s really such a narrow-minded person. She wouldn’t accept that others are living a better life than her.”
Meng Yang nodded rapidly. “Exactly.”
Seeing them all agree was enough for Yan Wei to lose her temper.
She scowled, displeased by the turn of events. That Young Master of the Meng Family must’ve been behind the information being distributed from International Middle School, right?
Why was he even continuing to speak up for that country b.u.mpkin?
What benefits could she have offered him?
“If you say you do, then where are they?” Yan Wei tilted her head even higher. Her tone became even more flippant and unpleasant. “Why don’t you show me?”
Lin Xin smiled. “Then what if we really take them out? What would you do for us?”
Yao Tang appeared deep in thought.
Just as Yan Wei was about to speak, she interrupted, “Hm, I don’t think this would be a good bet.”
“Oh, why? Are you afraid to be proven wrong?”
“Not really.” She shrugged. “It would be no use proving you wrong. In fact, it’d just be a waste of time.”
A waste of time?
If Yao Tang hadn’t said that they had a truckload of information, then she might be quaking in her boots. However, now that she already brought that piece of information out, she was more than ready to make this bet with her. How could she have a truck worth of books?
She was obviously lying!
She had heard from Yao Ran that this Yao Tangwas none other than a village brat. She was just a country b.u.mpkin who came from a small mountain village. Who would be worried about someone like her?
If it weren’t for Meng Yang, how could she even have such information about their school?
She was definitely bluffing!
“Then what do you want?” Yan Wei demanded.
“Yan Yu will be back soon.”
Ah.
“Fine, as long as you have that delivered, I’ll never sit in his place again.” Yan Wei shrugged.
“I don’t even know why you care about him. He’s nothing but a cripple in our family. But then again, you two would fit. A cripple and a country b.u.mpkin—what a good match.”
Qin Jing clenched her fists.
