Chapter 817 - 817 Good Seedling
817 Good Seedling
The String Pavilion was extremely well-informed, so it was likely that they had learned of this news from somewhere. Seeing the urgency, they must’ve decided to contact their disciples in pa.s.sing.
Elder Xu slowly nodded. “Given the circ.u.mstances, we shouldn’t be impolite,” he said. “Why don’t you all come with me to thank them?”
The Inner Pavilion had always been kind to whoever helped them.
However, as soon as Elder Xu mentioned the String Pavilion, their expressions quickly changed. Their eyebrows were furrowed, and they no longer had the same indifferent look.
!!The Pavilion was simply a place they didn’t want to go.
If it wasn’t for the fact that he had no other choice, they wouldn’t dare set foot in the Pavilion. The last thing they wanted to see were these arrogant elders trying to show off.
They frowned and stood still.
Seeing their reluctance, Elder Chen sighed helplessly. He rubbed his forehead. While he understood their resistance, he really had to go over and thank them. After all, the person they had helped rescue was his disciple. It was only proper for him to do so.
“Fine, if that’s what you wish, I’ll thank them instead.”
Hearing Elder Chen’s words, the other elders heaved a sigh of relief.
At least they didn’t have to go!
Elder w.a.n.g smiled. He certainly didn’t want to go to the String Pavilion at all. Just the thought of talking with the other elders was enough to give him a headache.
The last time he had gone there, Elder Liu from the String Pavilion tried to pull him back and showed off his newly obtained relic. If the old man had a choice, he’d be talking about that same relic for hours unend.
Elder w.a.n.g was so angry that he turned around and stomped off.
Not far away, Yao Tang hung up the phone and headed toward them. Her eyes were as calm as water, and her movements were slow and steady.
Elder Chen’s eyes lit up in recognition. “You’re the new disciple, correct?”
“Yes, I am.”
Her face was expressionless.
At the sight of her calm temperament, Elder Chen became more intrigued. His eyes brightened up as he slowly leaned back.
So many things had happened, with this young girl being kidnapped. Yet, she was still so calm. It wasn’t bad at all. His smile widened.
She was indeed a good seedling.
Yesterday, Elder Chen had already received news that the Elders were taking in another disciple. At first, he had laughed, wondering what kind of person would have elders fighting over them.
He had a.s.sumed that Yao Tang was another common disciple—just to add more heads to the organization.
He didn’t think much of it.
However, after meeting her today, he realized that Yao Tang was different.
She was quite special.
“Well, the Inner Pavilion welcomes your arrival.”
Elder Chen smiled and continued, “I can’t believe how calm you are. Even after being kidnapped yourself and having faced such dangerous events, you still managed to stay calm. It must’ve been difficult to achieve this!”
As soon as he said this, everyone froze.
Did Elder Chen really think that she was kidnapped?
What would he do if he found out the truth?
The Elders all shared a look. They all looked like they had something to say, but none of them could say it.
“Hm?”
In a blink of an eye, he saw that everyone’s gazes have s.h.i.+fted. A strange feeling rose in his heart.
“What’s wrong? Did I say something wrong?”
Elder Chen pursed his lips.
“No, we just wanted to know how you were kidnapped,” Elder Xu quickly changed the topic. “That’s why we looked like this. What happened?”
If Elder Chen knew that it was Yao Tang who had saved him, he’d probably feel bad about himself. After all, it was his job to protect his disciples, not the other way around.
It was better to just cover up the truth.
If no one mentioned it, then Elder Chen would probably think nothing of it.
Hearing Elder Xu’s question, Elder Chen’s interest was immediately piqued. As expected, he no longer pursued this matter, and instead, focused on recounting his experiences.
“This morning, my apprentice and I wanted to buy gifts for the party. But as we drove to a small gift shop right by West Street, we were ambushed!”
“We tried using our spiritual powers to attack, but our abilities weren’t effective!”
