Chapter 827 - 827 Blocking Their Path
827 Blocking Their Path
Meng Ling held her mother’s arm on one side. She surveyed the surroundings with a bored look on her face.
Earlier that evening, Yao Ran had practically kicked up a fuss, insisting that they come to the Chunlai Hotel’s restaurant for dinner. Madam Meng eventually agreed and told her subordinates to arrange for a private room.
And so, they dressed up and came to the hotel with much ceremony.
Qin Man glanced at the limping Yao Ran and couldn’t help curling her lips in disdain. If she had her way, she would have liked for the girl to stay as far away as possible, but Yao Ran was still her daughter, after all.
!!It wasn’t until they had come to a stop in the middle of the reception area that she caught notice of a familiar face.
‘Isn’t this Yao Tang?’
“Welcome, Madam Meng,” the waiter promptly fawned over them. “You may recognize me, I am Xiao Li. We spoke on the phone this morning. Your private room has been prepared for you. It’s Room 505, just up front. Please follow me.”
“Very good.”
Madam Meng’s face was devoid of emotions, and her reply was short and bland, which served to heighten the air of n.o.bility she exuded.
The waiter bowed repeatedly and gestured with his arm in earnest.
“This way, it’s not very far.”
When Qin Jing heard the room number, she instantly understood that these were the people who had stolen their reservation.
She sprang into action.
“You can’t leave! You can’t just dismiss us without explaining what is going on here!”
Qin Jing got into the waiter’s path and spread her arms wide open to block him.
How could he leave them to fend for themselves after his blunder?
The jerk didn’t even settle their issue properly, yet here he was, scampering to tend to other customers who had just arrived.
His behavior was nothing short of abhorrent.
Madam Meng stopped in her tracks and peered at Qin Jing, her brows furrowed in displeasure.
She had never seen this girl at any of her clique’s social gatherings before, so she must not come from a prominent family.
This led Madam Meng to conclude that Qin Jing was just another daughter from some common, middle-cla.s.s family.
She sneered at Qin Jing’s insolence, offended that the girl had dared to block her way.
Of course, Madam Meng had no idea that Qin Jing was the one and only precious granddaughter of the Qin family.
The Qin family had various businesses throughout the country, and even held influence in the underworld. As such, it wasn’t strange for them to have a fair amount of enemies.
For Qin Jing’s safety, the elders of the Qin family had decided to send her away from Beijing as soon as she was able, and didn’t allow her to make much contact with the outside world.
Moreover, the Meng family had only been in the capital for a few years and had yet to meet the most powerful families in the city.
Needless to say, Madam Meng turned her nose up at Qin Jing.
‘This girl must be out of her mind. Did she think she could ruin my good mood and get away with it? How naive.’
The waiter took his cue from Madam Meng’s obvious scorn and hastily chased Qin Jing away.
“Who the h.e.l.l are you kids, huh? Why are you loitering around here? Do you think this is some shabby sidewalk? If you don’t leave the premises now, I’ll have security escort you out!”
He then turned to Madam Meng and added, “Don’t worry, Madam. I’ll take care of this as soon as possible.”
Madam Meng only harrumphed and rolled her eyes.
Just then, Yao Ran looked over to see Qin Jing standing in their way. She had caught the tail end of her words, too.
Yao Ran’s eyes gleamed with antic.i.p.ation, and a faint smile appeared on her lips.
She had them right where she wanted them.
Yao Ran craned her neck to look behind Qin Jing.
Sure enough, she found Yao Tang standing a few feet away.
Yao Ran expertly smoothed her features before putting on a concerned expression.
“Everyone, calm down. Please don’t get into a fight.”
She turned to flash Qin Jing a smile. “Jingjing, don’t do this, okay? You must know that it isn’t easy to book a room at this restaurant. Don’t create even more problems for the staff here. I’m sure you don’t want to make a big deal out of a simple misunderstanding, right?”
Qin Jing only glanced at Yao Ran and rolled her eyes. She didn’t want to waste her breath on this snake.
She directed her attention back to the waiter and snorted derisively. “We both know that that private room is rightfully ours. Give it to us, and I won’t say anything more.”
She couldn’t believe that the so-called number one restaurant in Beijing would treat their clients like this.
How utterly disappointing.
Meng Ling narrowed her eyes and tilted her head at Yao Ran.
“What was that, Ranran?” she questioned. “Do you know these people?”
