A wave of anger rushed through her Qin Man as she yelled, “I have brought the General’s birthday present. Mom, look at this!”

Everyone immediately turned to her.

All eyes were on Qin Man as she walked down the hallway. Her head was tilted high up, and her eyes glistened under the artificial lights.

She raised the box even higher so that everyone could see the delicate mahogany in her hands.

As expected, when everyone saw the meticulously carved box, they all gasped in admiration. Some even had the nerve to come a bit closer to guess what was hidden inside.

Their gifts were truly one of a kind.

Old Madam Yao had been looking at another gift that had been given to her when Qin Man walked in. As soon as she heard the word, “General”, she quickly placed her gift back on a try.

Old Madam Yao simply shook her head in reply.

A gentle smile flashed across his face. The kid had always been quite a handful when he had been with them, but he sure did miss him from time to time.

He was proud of what the kid had accomplished.

“What kind of comfort was that?” Jiang Wan nudged her husband.

Even then, a smile still appeared on Old Madam Yao’s face. “He really is too kind,” she said fondly. “Even if he couldn’t make it, he still managed to send me a gift. Please take it away.”

The attendant nodded as he was about to take them away.

The General hadn’t been able to come himself, so she didn’t know whether or not he was really a “general”.

The smile on her face was sincere as if she only wanted to see the gift.

However, Old Madam Yao knew what her daughter-in-law was thinking. She obviously wanted to show off the General’s gift as hers when she saw her sister-in-law getting all the limelight.

Her eyes narrowed.

“I don’t care about his gift, only his intentions.”

With that, the attendants quickly moved to take the gift.
