Chapter 95: Casually Written Down
He sat down beside the piano and slowly placed his fingers on the keys. Then, he softly began to play.
The gentle music reverberated throughout the room. The man sitting at the piano was handsome and charming. The sunlight hit the side of his face and body. In the warm light, he was as beautiful as a painting.
Is this how all fairytale Prince Charmings are like?
The music stopped abruptly.
When Jiang Xingyi turned to Jiang Yu, she raised her head.
!!She put down the pen in her hand, placed the paper on the table, and commented, “It’s pretty good.”
“But I have no inspiration for the rest of the song, so I just left it and didn’t finish it.”
“You’ll finish it.”
Jiang Xingyi thought that Jiang Yu was encouraging him, “Of course, your brother is an original singer. I have to write several songs a year.”
Jiang Yu did not say anything else.
After lingering at Jiang Xingyi’s house for a while, Jiang Yu got up and left. Jiang Xingyi sent her out of the neighborhood and helped her hail a cab. He paid the fare and memorized the license plate number before letting it drive off.
When he returned home, he smiled at the thought of Jiang Yu’s cute att.i.tude earlier and returned to his studio.
During his interaction with Jiang Yu just now, he had received some inspiration. He had to quickly write it down or he might forget it later.
As Jiang Xingyi tried out the notes, he also wrote down the tune. Time pa.s.sed by in a blink of an eye.
He stood up and stretched. His gaze fell on a piece of paper on the table.
Thinking about back to Jiang Yu sitting at the table and writing on that piece of paper with a pen earlier, Jiang Xingyi was a little curious. He wanted to see what little sister had written.
He walked over and picked up the paper.
There was a string of numbers on the piece of paper next to his half finished score.
Jiang Xingyi didn’t pay too much attention to it. Perhaps his little sister had just casually written it down, or perhaps she was thinking of some math problem.
Even though, at the thought of his little sister thinking of some math problem while he was playing the piano, it spoiled his mood.
Even though it seemed a little impolite to write a rough draft on a musician’s score, if it had been anyone else, but his little sister was not just anyone else.
Jiang Xingyi went to the kitchen and and poured himself a gla.s.s of water. He was still thinking on how to perfect the inspiration he had just received. As he walked, he hummed a short paragraph. When he returned to the studio, he wrote down a short, simple string of notes.
After he finished writing, Jiang Xingyi played it again and made some modifications to the score.
Then, he suddenly thought of something while he was revising. An idea came to him and he quickly took the piece of paper that Jiang Yu had left a mark on. After taking a closer look, he tried playing the string of numbers.
Jiang Xingyi: !!!
If that string of numbers was treated as a musical score, this piece of music and his half of the score would be perfectly matched!
Jiang Xingyi played it again and immediately felt a surge of inspiration. He then continued to write!
The light and shadow on the floor became longer and longer.
When he was finally satified with his score, after revising it over and over again, the sky had turned dark.
He turned on the lights in the room. His face was still full of energy, and he didn’t feel tired at all.
Jiang Xingyi made a call.
“It’s me, the t.i.tle song for the new alb.u.m, I’ve finished writing the score but I haven’t filled out the lyrics yet. I’ll send it to you first anyways.”
After hanging up the phone, Jiang Xingyi heaved a sigh of relief.
It was his tradition to release a new alb.u.m every year. The t.i.tle song for this year’s new alb.u.m hadn’t been decided yet, but now he finally the solution.
However…
A question surfaced in Jiang Xingyi’s mind.
Could that string of numbers have been written by Little Sister?
