Chapter 80 - 80 I Have To Be Fierce In Order To Donate Money!
80 I Have To Be Fierce In Order To Donate Money!
“Teachers, how is the accommodation situation in the school?” Luo Feng asked.
Mike Li choked. Why was accommodation more important? Why did Luo Feng keep thinking about it?
“Our school’s accommodation conditions are very good. Two people to one room with a separate bathroom. Moreover, the boys’ dormitory is closer to the canteen and the sports field. The girls’ dormitory conditions are similar, but it’s a little further back.” Mike Li cleared his throat and said, in order not to be beaten by Professor Jing.
When Luo Feng heard this, he frowned slightly in dissatisfaction.
Mike Li did not know why he was dissatisfied. Their school’s dormitory building had just been repaired this year. It was slightly better than Stanford’s. Why did Luo Feng have such an expression?
“The male and female dormitories are too far apart. Wouldn’t it be like a long-distance relations.h.i.+p?” Luo Feng said.
Mike Li was speechless.
Professor Jing stroked his beard, indicating that Mike Li was still too inexperienced.
Suddenly, he slapped Luo Feng’s shoulder and said, “I can understand you well, Student Luo Feng. Back then, my lover and I also met on the university campus. I could see her combing her hair by the window when I jogged past every morning. I still can’t forget her golden-threaded hair. At that time, I swore that I would definitely marry her.”
Then, Professor Jing began to introduce the accommodations. “Our school’s male and female dormitories are in the same area. The two buildings are facing each other. Student Ai Tingya and you can start holding hands when you go downstairs. You can meet for dinner and cla.s.ses.”
Luo Feng pinched his chin and imagined it. He felt that it was very good. He liked it very much.
It all depended on how Tingya would choose now that they had a dating venue.
He turned to look at Ai Tingya and said, “Tingya, what do you think?”
Ai Tingya looked at the expectant faces of the two recruitment teachers and pursed her lips. “Teachers, do you think I can study Finance at your schools?”
If she wanted to earn money and run her and Luo Feng’s company, she had to know how to do business.
Therefore, she did not care about the treatment or accommodation. She only cared about whether she could have her preferred education.
Professor Jing raised his head and laughed upon hearing this. “Of course. Student Ai Tingya, finance is our ace. You’re very welcome to join.”
Mike Li wilted like a frosted eggplant, defeated by Oxford.
Professor Jing took advantage of the situation. “It seems that the two of you are more inclined to our school. I’ll come and sign the admission application with you tomorrow. I hope we can study together in the future.”
“Thank you, Professor,” they said in unison.
After chatting for a while, it was getting late. Professor Jing and Mike Li prepared to leave.
Mike Li thought about it and felt that something was wrong. He whispered to Professor Jing, “Professor, why do I remember that your wife is more than 20 years younger than you? Where did you get a school romance?”
Professor Jing coughed awkwardly and said seriously, “I was teaching in the school at that time. Can’t I look up at the student dormitory?”
Mike Li stared at Professor Jing speechlessly. You’re really good at avoiding the important points. I didn’t lose because of my school’s apt.i.tude, but my eloquence. He thought to himself.
After sending the two recruitment teachers off, Luo Feng looked at the resplendent neon lights on the street and wanted to bring Ai Tingya shopping on the street and buy some school supplies.
“Luo Feng, you said that I can control the income of the milk tea shop. Is that true?” Ai Tingya suddenly asked solemnly.
Luo Feng nodded seriously seeing this.
“Can you accompany me to the bank then?” Ai Tingya tugged at him.
The two of them found the nearest ATM. When Ai Tingya was withdrawing the money, Luo Feng turned around and listened to the ATM clatter. Luo Feng knew that the amount was not small at all.
The package on Ai Tingya’s back was bulging. It was really not safe for the two students to carry a large amount of cash, so Luo Feng hailed a taxi on the street and the two of them returned to the orphanage.
There was a strict rest period in the orphanage. The children were not allowed to play in the courtyard after eight in the evening.
The courtyard was silent, and one could vaguely hear the laughter in the room.
The two of them went straight to Dean Du’s room. When they pushed open the door, they saw Dean Du sitting at his desk.
“Xiaoya, you’re back. Did you see the recruitment teacher?” When Dean Du saw Ai Tingya, she hurriedly stood up and poured water for the two of them.
Ai Tingya’s heart ached as she looked at the additional white hair on Dean Du’s temples.
“Xiaoya, what’s wrong?” Dean Du saw that she was about to cry and looked at Luo Feng worriedly.
Ai Tingya blinked and restrained her emotions. She took out a thick wad of cash from her bag and handed it to Dean Du. “Dean, this is 50,000 yuan. I hope you can accept it.”
Director Du did not care what Ai Tingya’s intentions were. Her first reaction was to push the money back. “What are you doing? Take the money back!”
Ai Tingya maintained the gesture of paying and said, “Dean, I’ve decided to go to Oxford to study. I won’t be able to be by your side for a long time. You’ll have to deal with many things in the orphanage alone.”
Dean Du looked helplessly at Ai Tingya, who was about to cry. This child was too sensible. She was clearly still a child, but she was already worried about the adults.
“You don’t have to worry about us. Just focus on studying. Xiao Fei is not young anymore. She can work in the milk tea shop. The other children are also sensible and know how to learn from you. Don’t worry about us,” Dean Du declined.
She knew that 50,000 yuan might be almost all of Ai Tingya’s savings.
She might have successfully entered university but she could not bear to accept it when she would have to spend money everywhere in another city.
However, Ai Tingya was very persistent. Her hand that was holding the 50,000 yuan trembled slightly, and she had no intention of putting it down. She insisted that Dean Du take it.
Luo Feng could not stand it anymore. He took the cash from Ai Tingya and handed it to Dean Du.
“This is a token of Tingya’s appreciation. Dean, please accept it,” Luo Feng advised. “If you don’t accept it, she won’t be able to go out to study in peace.”
Dean Du looked at Luo Feng and then at Ai Tingya. He took the money and said, “Then I’ll help you save it first.”
Ai Tingya rubbed her eyes and sniffled happily.
“You’re really…” Dean Du rubbed Ai Tingya’s head helplessly and lovingly.
Generally, children from orphanages would no longer belong to the orphanage after they turned 18 years old. They had their own lives to fight for. Over the years, Dean Du had raised so many children. Some might come back once a year, and she would never see some of them ever again.
Ai Tingya was the most obedient and sensible child she had ever raised. She could not bear to part with her.
Dean Du’s eyes turned red at the thought of this.
Luo Feng changed the topic seeing that the two of them were about to cry. “Dean Du, I’m going to donate a million yuan to the orphanage as an education fund for the children. Any child who studies hard will be rewarded.”
“No,” Ai Tingya stopped him.
She already felt bad after taking the profits from the milk tea shop. She did not want to use any more of Luo Feng’s money.
