Professor Guo said with satisfaction, “That’s great, thank you, doctor. You’re the professionals, and I believe that under your care, Li Li will recover sooner.”

The doctor really liked the way the old gentleman spoke; he trusted doctors very much, unlike some people who not only distrust doctors but also trouble them every day, always thinking the doctors are out to harm their children.

“Thank you for your trust, we will definitely take good care of Ms. Li Li,” the doctor said with a smile.

He didn’t stay in the ward for too long and left after explaining the precautions.

After sending off the doctor, the smile on Professor Guo’s face disappeared immediately, replaced by an expression of both heartache and anger, “Child, I’ve told you not to get into conflicts with others, but you wouldn’t listen. You had to wait until you were in the hospital to regret it. Let’s see if you dare to fight with others again in the future?”

Professor Guo couldn’t bear to really blame Li Li, especially since she was already hospitalized. If he really wanted to scold her, he would wait until she was better.

The female student who came with Professor Guo asked, “Junior sister, why did you get into a fight with someone last night? I heard from others that you fought with a senior from our school, and it was right at the entrance of the boys’ dormitory. How did you end up there?”

The student beside her said, “I heard from a friend about what happened last night. At first, you didn’t strike back; it was that guy who tried to hit you, and you were just defending yourself. Moreover, the worst injury you received was while you were protecting your friend.”

Li Li nodded, “Yes, my friend was in the middle, and I was afraid of hurting her, so I stopped. But that guy had no morals at all and took advantage of the moment I stopped to attack my friend. I couldn’t let my friend get hurt, which led to my own injury.”

Professor Guo sighed, “There’s no point in arguing about who was right or wrong now. You both engaged in the fight, so you both share some blame. Even if it goes to the police, they might rule it as mutual a.s.sault, and no good would come of that.”

Li Li was well aware of this, which is why she only had Lan Ning call for an ambulance, not the police.

“I regret it so much now. If I had known he was such a person, I would definitely not have liked him,” Li Li said angrily.

The three with Professor Guo were shocked as if they had stumbled upon a big secret, but ultimately they did not press further. After all, it was Li Li’s private matter, and she would surely talk about it if she wanted to.
