Behind the shadows, killer cat saw Zhao Yao, and Xiao s.h.i.+ Yu split into their separate routes with a glint in its eyes.

"That's good; it won't matter if I let this guy escape. He will just have to thank his lucky stars."

Killer cat began stalking Xiao s.h.i.+ Yu in its old lady disguise.

When it was just inches away from Xiao s.h.i.+ Yu, she suddenly turned around as if she knew that it was behind her.

It had a sly grin on its face as it got ready to pounce onto Xiao s.h.i.+ Yu. However, at the exact moment, there was an explosion right next to it which sent it directly into the muddy fields.

It immediately turned its head around to Lin Chen who was pointing his gun towards it. Lin Chen a.s.serted, "Do not move."

Xiao s.h.i.+ Yu panicked from the gunshot and scrambled to escape from them.

Killer cat stared at Lin Chen with a devious smile on its face and said, "Police officer, how did you managed to recognize me?"

However, Lin Chen did not reply. His entire body was in a heightened state of alertness as all his muscles were tensed up and his eyes fixed on his target.

Actually, it was just a gamble on Lin Chen's part.

It was unusual for an elderly lady to be strolling around the district at this hour. Even though it bothered to change into a new set of clothing, it was still wearing the same pair of tattered sports shoes from before. The most obvious thing which gave the killer cat away was the blood stains on the sole of its shoes.

This completely matched the profile of killer cat which was engaged in a b.l.o.o.d.y ma.s.sacre and must have worn out its shoes from its engagement with the police officers.

These were the evidence which led Lin Chen to this deduction.

Killer cat's response after Lin Chen's test shot only confirmed his hypothesis.

After witnessing killer cat's rampage in the building, Lin Chen was not confident of bringing it down.

He understood how strong one group of professionally trained police officers, who were armed with state-of-the-art equipment, were.

Even when these police officers were inundated with gangsters or hooligans a few time their number, they could still easily overcome them.

However, when this group of elite warriors was put up against the killer cat, they were annihilated instantly.

A 12.77mm armor piercing bullet could not take the killer cat down, let alone a pistol.

Lin Chen knew that he stood no chance against this monster.

The only thing that made him chose to fight against it was his sense of justice.

The killer cat did not even consider Lin Chen as a threat. It merely glanced at Lin Chen, stretched a little and turned its body towards Xiao s.h.i.+ Yu. With a quick twitch of its muscle, killer cat propelled itself towards Xiao s.h.i.+ Yu with a loud boom.

Lin Chen pulled the trigger at the instant killer cat began its pursuit. However, the bullet ricocheted from its back and left a tiny scratch behind. The bullet could not penetrate its body as it was stopped by its muscle, which was as tough as marble.

Even though it did not manage to inflict much damage on the killer cat, it still affected killer cat's strike as it missed its original target. Instead of piercing through Xiao s.h.i.+ Yu's heart with its sharp claws, it only managed to hit Xiao s.h.i.+ Yu's waist, but it was enough to send her flying off.

With its monstrous strength and enormous claws, it managed to turn Xiao s.h.i.+ Yu's waist into minced meat with a single swipe. Xiao s.h.i.+ Yu was howling in pain as she lay on the floor.

Her organs had been damaged by killer cat's strike as she continued to bleed profusely. In an instant, the entire floor flooded with blood.

Killer cat took a step towards her and got ready for its second strike. Simultaneously, Lin Chen threw away his pistol and dashed towards it.

With his superpower awakened, it seemed like Lin Chen was faster than the killer cat. He pounced on it with his dagger, but it dodged the attack with a simple tilt of its body. However, the killer cat lost its chance to land its second strike on Xiao s.h.i.+ Yu.

"Apostle!" Killer cat roared after seeing Lin Chen's power. It eyes seethed with anger as it shouted, "Which traitor lend you its power!"

"In that case, I'll just have to kill you first before I proceed to her."

In the eyes of the killer cat, every human being was a potential enemy. Thus, any supercat which lent its power to a human would be a traitor in its eyes.

It abhorred all these apostles and their supercats.

With a loud boom, the killer cat began its transformation. It started off with increased blood flow in its body. Then, every single muscle in its body expanded at an unprecedented rate. Its limbs and fingers grew longer and thicker. Claws emerged from beneath its skin. The clothes and shoes it was wearing were torn apart by the force of its expansion. Its fangs appeared from the corner of its lips.

Instantly, it had transformed from a frail elderly lady to a monster towering over Lin Chen.

"It did not even use its full strength previously?" Lin Chen was astounded by the monster standing in front of him. Suddenly, its enormous paws came flying towards Lin Chen.

"Run!"

Lin Chen could not fight against this monster heads on, leaving him with the sole option of escape.

Hence, killer cat commenced its pursuit of Lin Chen. Even though Lin Chen had the power of super speed, it could not get rid of the killer cat which was hot on his heels. Lin Chen was literally running away from death.

It was always harder for a person to achieve his top speed when retreating from his enemies.

Killer cat continued sending slashes across Lin Chen's face with its sharp claws. Lin Chen could even feel the impact from the slashes even though they did not manage to hit him.

To an onlooker, it seemed like Lin Chen was in a dance with killer cat's claws. Lin Chen was fighting for his life as he dodged and retreated from the barrage of attacks.

The killer cat was able to break the cement floor with every step it took. Lin Chen knew that he would be on the brink of death if the killer cat managed to land one strike on him.

Suddenly, killer cat squatted down and sent its legs, which were as thick as steel column, towards Lin Chen.

Lin Chen tried to dodge this attack. However, with a twitch of the muscle, its legs began to expand like a rubber band; it turned into a 2 meters long steel whip, las.h.i.+ng towards Lin Chen.

Even though the angular frequency at which Lin Chen kicked at was the same, but its lengthened legs increased the reach of its kick, which resulted in a speed which was 7 to 8 times faster than the original. It was impossible for Lin Chen who was retreating to dodge this kick.

Even before the kick made an impact, Lin Chen already felt like he was suffocating from the force of the kick. It seemed like the air particles around them had all exploded simultaneously.

Lin Chen could only use his arms to block this attack. He felt like he had been hit by a truck which was speeding down the highway. He was sent flying off with the sound of its bones cracking in both arms.

After dealing a ma.s.sive blow on Lin Chen, the killer cat did not continue with its pursuit. Instead, with a contraction and relaxation of its muscles, the killer cat was instantaneously transported to where Xiao s.h.i.+ Yu was. It rose up and sent its hammer-like foot directly onto Xiao s.h.i.+ Yu's neck. Lin Chen boiled with anger as he saw killer cat tearing Xiao s.h.i.+ Yu's neck apart before his very eyes.

Xiao s.h.i.+ Yu stopped breathing almost instantly after receiving two blows from the killer cat.

However, no one seemed to have noticed that the flesh and bones of her body have started to regenerate on their own.

Xiao s.h.i.+ Yu's eyes began to lose focus as she went unconscious. The killer cat had an accomplished grin on its face. It turned around to face Lin Chen who was struggling to stand but could only kneel on the floor. It asked Lin Chen with a tinge of sarcasm, "Policeman, are you trying to save her? What a pity. It seems like she is already dead. You will also be dead in a few seconds, and you will never be able to save anyone."

Killer cat slowly sauntered towards Lin Chen, with the wicked smile on its face. It saw the fury in his eyes and said, "Do you know that I love people like you who hate me to the core and yet cannot do anything against me."

Lin Chen yelled in anger and tried to stand on his feet. However, the killer cat immediately sent him flying off with a kick. Every single bone in his skeleton was sore, and it felt like he had been hit with a wrecking ball. He could not even stand.

"Hahaha," Killer cat started smiling, "You can continue to struggle, and I love to see the look of anguish on your face."

Lin Chen was furious at the killer cat, but he felt a sudden sense of despair.

At that moment, a voice erupted in both their ears, "Hey, are you the killer cat that has been causing havoc in Jiangmen city?"

Killer cat turned around to see a shadow at the far end, beneath a tree. There was also an enormous cat resting on his shoulder. Their stares were so cold that it sent chills down killer cat's spine.

Lin Chen spotted the shadow and shouted, "Escape!"

Killer cat said, "I wanted to let you go today, why did you come back?"

Zhao Yao replied coolly, "You make me so mad."

The sounds of the wind interfered with their voices and made it difficult for one to decipher what they were saying.

Immediately after Zhao Yao completed his sentence, killer cat propelled his body forward like a bolt of lightning. It went straight for Zhao Yao's head with its outstretched claws and chilling look on his face.

"Stop!"

Lin Chen closed his eyes in despair. Even though he could not see Zhao Yao's face, he knew that no ordinary human beings could fight against the killer cat.

All he could do was open his mouth and let out a thunderous bellow.
