Chapter 134.1 - Growing feelings over time
“Let’s go too.” Xiahou Qing looked away from the two people and towards Lou Qingwu, with a gentle expression.
His expression was just right, considerately explaining about the dangers that they could encounter at the hunting grounds, as well as what to do if something did happen.
Lou Qingwu patiently listened to him, occasionally replying to him.
But where exactly her heart was, no one knew.
The two people quickly met their first elk.
Xiahou Qing raised his bow and hit his target.
He quickly rode over, bending over and picking up the elk before throwing it to his subordinate who wasn’t too far away.
He raised the bow in his hands towards Lou Qingwu, his whole person bathed in sunlight, making him even more handsome.
It was only a pity that it was all just a facade.
Lou Qingwu’s eyes were deep and at this point, heard Ye Ji’s high pitched scream, not too far away.
“AH ----”
Xiahou Qing and Lou Qingwu’s eyes met as they quickly flashed danger, raising their reins and galloping towards the source of the sound.
When they reached that point, they saw a group of people in black circling around Feng Yege and Ye Ji.
Feng Yege had a sword raised in his hand as Ye Ji was frightened, hiding behind him.
Not too far away were fallen arrows as the two people’s horses had already died with arrows protruding from them.
The deputy general was fallen to the side, his arm b.l.o.o.d.y as he looked unconscious.
Xiahou Qing was shocked as he quickly ordered his subordinates to go find someone.
He quickly jumped from the horse, lightly stepping until he reached the centre of where the people in black were and joined in the battle.
These people in black were obviously just sacrificial p.a.w.ns, each blow that they made were deadly.
After one batch died, another batch came in.
Xiahou Qing’s expression grew worse as Feng Yege’s eyes also grew cold.
His movements grew quicker as his previously careless expression also disappeared.
But when his eyes fell on the new addition of Xiahou Qing, his brows furrowed, his sword finis.h.i.+ng one opponent after another.
His deep voice sounded, “Go protect Qingwu!”
Xiahou Qing froze before remembering that Lou Qingwu was still outside the perimeter.
He turned around to look before seeing a few people in black heading towards her.
The sword in his arm glimmered as he chopped his way towards her.
“Qingwu!”
Xiahou Qing shouted as Lou Qingwu reflexively looked up, but in the next instant, her pupils shrunk.
She saw Feng Yege fly towards her with his sword in hand, one sword piercing through the few people in black’s throats who were in front of her.
And behind him, some of them had taken the chance to chop at the back of his neck.
Feng Yege reached backwards to block it but blood spurted from his body.
He wore all black so it wasn’t easy to see the blood but Ye Ji was close to him and the stench of blood was so strong that it made her so scared that she was about to faint.
She screamed, “Brother Ye!”
Feng Yege’s black eyes darkened as he kicked away a person in black, his uninjured arm raising up his sword.
The raised sword reflected light, momentarily blinding some of them and in an instant, people in black fell down all around them.
The smaller half of them who remained were quickly surrounded by soldiers.
When they realised they were about to be overpowered, they quickly tried to escape.
Lou Qingwu sat on her horse, slowly riding and following the blood trail that Feng Yege’s injured arm had left.
Each drop that had splattered on the floor made her brows furrow even deeper.
She urged her horse faster ahead as she jumped off to quickly run towards Feng Yege.
She carelessly ripped off a piece of fabric from her clothes and in a practiced manner, went to help bandage Feng Yege’s arm.
Feng Yege’s eyes were downcast, hiding his expression but he didn’t reject her.
Right until the injury was completely bandaged well did she lightly let out a small breath.
Ye Ji at this point, was crying so hard she’d nearly become made of tears, “Brother Ye, are you okay?”
