Chapter 134.2 - Growing feelings over time
Ye Ji at this point, was crying so hard she’d nearly become made of tears, “Brother Ye, are you okay?”
Feng Yege shook his head, but his eyes were on his bandaged arm and the simple knot that tied it.
When his eyes fell on the simple knot, a flash of disappointment flashed through his phoenix eyes.
He lifted his head up to look at Lou Qingwu with a complicated expression before pursing his lips and ignoring Ye Ji’s question.
After half a moment, shook his head.
Ye Ji still wanted to say something but was interrupted by Xiahou Qing.
“It seems like we’ll have to head back earlier than we planned. The Night Prince should quickly head back and be bandaged properly too. I don’t know if they put poison on their swords and I’ll quickly investigate who sent these a.s.sa.s.sins out, to give the Night Prince a reason for all of this.”
“En.” Feng Yege nodded his head, his eyes falling on the silent Lou Qingwu who hadn’t spoken a single word.
Lou Qingwu didn’t look up but she could feel Feng Yege’s eyes on her.
“I’ll go back with the Night Prince and Miss Ye Ji. That way, if something does happen on the way back, I can take care of it.”
“Okay.”
The three people were all sent away in one carriage, protected on their way to the capital.
Lou Qingwu’s eyes fell on Feng Yege as she took his pulse.
When she confirmed that he hadn’t been poisoned, she finally let out a real breath of relief.
The atmosphere in the carriage was a bit heavy as Ye Ji was too worried about Feng Yege’s injury to say anything.
Right until they reached the Night Prince’s residence and Feng Yege’s injury was applied with injury medicine, did Ye Ji burst into tears again.
“Brother Ye, it’s all my fault. If it wasn’t me who told you to go to the hunting grounds, you wouldn’t have gotten injured! Wu wu wu, hit me or yell at me! That way, my heart will feel better!”
“What nonsense are you speaking?”
Feng Yege saw that she was truly upset and crying for him, so he softened his att.i.tude, “Alright, I’m fine now, you can go back first.”
“But I …”
“You’re not a doctor so there’s no point staying here. When I’m better tomorrow, you can come back.”
“En.”
Ye Ji then grew happier again, nodding her head.
In the end, she reluctantly left the Night Prince’s residence.
But just as she left, her teary expression instantly changed to a bloodthirsty one, filled with anger.
She ferociously jumped into the carriage, solemnly shouting to the driver, “Head to the third prince’s residence!”
Xiahou Qing had just come back when he heard the door behind him being kicked open.
He turned around to see Ye Ji, his brows furrowing.
“How many times do I have to tell you to not just charge into my study room without my permission?!”
“Xiahou Qing! Why did you send a.s.sa.s.sins to try to kill brother Ye!” Ye Ji’s beautiful eyes were about to spit fire.
She rushed over, her hands smacked against the table as she glared viciously at Xiahou Qing.
They’d already agreed on finding some a.s.sa.s.sins to fake an attempt so that Xiahou Qing could play the hero to save Lou Qingwu.
That way, Lou Qingwu would feel grat.i.tude towards him saving her life and if Xiahou Qing also was slightly injured, Lou Qingwu would obviously feel guilty and take care of him at his residence.
After a few more trips, she’d grow feelings for him over time.
But why was Feng Yege the person who got injured in the end?
Also ….
“What kind of a.s.sa.s.sins did you find, they were clearly out to take his life with every blow?!”
Xiahou Qing’s expression grew even uglier than Ye Ji’s.
After a long time, he spat out. “Those people weren’t the people I hired.”
“What?!” Ye Ji’s expression grew solemn.
“How could they not be the ones you hired? Who were they then?”
“... I’m currently investigating.” But the people that he’d captured had taken poison before the attempt, committing suicide on the way back.
