Inside The House and First Conversation

It’s soon to be a year since I was born. Talking about what I did in this one year, it’d be body exercises and vocal exercises.

Talking about body exercises, it’s radio exercises that take place every day in the morning, afternoon, and night. Though if it were looked at from the side, it would just be me flapping my hands and feet around. But, thanks to that, about three months ago, my neck became steady and I am able to crawl around.

After that, my area of activities has increased by quite a bit.
The room I’m currently in is on the second floor, Eris’ room is to the side and the book storage in on the opposite.
Fundamentally, Kuroe or Eris is in my room but, there are times when the both of them aren’t around, I pick that period of time to leave my room.

And then, I wander around inside the house.
Well, I get spotted by either of them immediately though. Afterwards, I have them carry me and bring me to the direction I point at.

The thing I was most shocked by when exploring this house would be the dragon head decorated at the centre of the stairs that link the first and second floor. It’s so big that it makes one think, ‘Isn’t the head itself close to 2m’.
As expected, even I who was reincarnated and is slightly more of an adult mentally got led by my baby body and bawled. Of course, I leaked as well.

Even I who have gotten slightly used to Kuroe going ‘Ara ara’ and changing my nappy with a bitter smile has gotten embarra.s.sed.

Kuroe wouldn’t let me in the book storage because she was told by Eris that the book storage has tons of books and it’s dangerous so I can only look from the outside.

The reason being, I went in, touched the stacks of books as I pleased and ended up toppling them.
If it were just toppling the books, then it’ll be fine if I enter with Kuroe but, the problem was that the toppled books all fell on top of me.

When Eris and Kuroe came into the book storage after hearing the sounds of things falling and saw me buried in the books, that was also amazing.
Eris bawled like I’ve never seen before, removing the books that were on me with amazing vigour, Kuroe also loses her normal composure and has a panicked look.
On top of that, her cat ears went limp and, her tail drooped to the point where it totally doesn’t move.

After that, when I was told by Kuroe ‘Because of my careless, Lei-sama went through something dangerous. Please make up for it with my life’, I panicked.

After somehow persuading Kuroe, it was lecture time from the both of them.
I was persuaded by the two of them in teary eyes not to enter the book storage so, I have to abide by it.

But thinking about it, having books that thick falling on me and somehow I was able to get off almost without a scratch.
It seems that I have rather good luck in this world.

Regarding the vocal exercises, it is progressing fairly well.
Since I’m finally able to vocalize words that sound like words just recently, I was thinking that it’s about time to unveil it.

And, just at the right time
I hear a knock.
Alright! I’ll try speaking to the person who’s coming in right now.

“Lei-sama, excuse me”

Oh! It’s Kuroe!
It’s an appropriate person for my very first talking companion.

“Ai~! Kuroe~!!”

Oops, I still can’t properly p.r.o.nounce “Ha¹“. There’s need for more practice. Nn? There’s no reaction coming from Kuroe. I look in the direction of Kuroe and her cat ears and tails are, standing so high it made me think ‘Wow it’s standing so high!’. Her tail also went ‘Buwa!²‘.

After tens of seconds have pa.s.sed, Kuroe made a mad dash out the room.
What is going on? Did she remember something important she has to do?

I think about that while waiting for several minutes and
Suddenly loud sounds made from running could be heard from the corridor.
Wh, what!? Did something happen?

The next moment, the door opened with an amazing force, and the one who entered was my mother, Eris.

“Lei-chan! Is it true that you’ve spoken!?”

Ah~, the reason Kuroe suddenly went off, was because she went to report to Eris.

“Saa! Please call me Mama!”

She said that with a desperate expression so, well, I thought it’s fine since I can speak after all and

“Mama~ I luve you~”, I answered with a smile!

When I did that, it felt like I heard the mysterious sound of ‘Zukyun, zukyun³!’ twice.

Looking at Eris and Kuroe who followed in after her, they are making such a dere face that it even shocks me.
The corner of their eyes went down so low⁴ I thought ‘Wow the corner of the eyes can go down that low!’, Kuroe has in addition to that, her cat ears going ‘Piku piku⁵‘ and her tail becoming lively. She’s somewhat cute.

“Mouー! Lei-chan! Saying I love you! So cute! It’s a shame that I’m not the first one but, I’ll forgive everything!!”

I’ll just treat it as I didn’t hear Kuroe behind Eris who’s hugging me while being extremely elated, going ‘I’m the first.Fufufu’
It seems like Eris is also too elated to hear it anyway.

While the two beauties are going ‘Kyaa kyaa⁶‘,
My father, Sieg, came in.

“Is it true that Lei-chan has spoken!”

“Ee it’s true! He said to me ‘I love you’!”

After hearing that, Sieg in spite of making a slightly envious look returns to his serious face.

“Then, if he has grown to the point where he can speak, it’ll be fine to bring him there any time now”

“Ee, that’s right”

What? Even though I only spoke, it seems that it became about me going somewhere.

“When will you be free?”

“I think I’ll be open on the Light day next week”

“Then, let’s go on the Light day next week!”

Where are we going?

By the way, there are six days in a week in this world. It’s a.s.sociated with the basic elements of magic, fire, water, wind, earth, dark, light. Thirty days in a month, twelve months a year and 360 days.
Light day is, in other words, the Sunday in my previous life.

“Lei. Next week on Light day with Eris, Kuroe and me, we’ll go to the shrine to receive your status”

What! Such an important event is occurring next week!
I heard afterwards that, status is acquired roughly at the age of 1 year old.
Acquiring the status uses physical strength and magic power so, it’s not possible until they’ve grown enough to crawl around and speak.

There was a story in the past that, there was a n.o.ble who wanted to quickly start gifted education, brought a newborn to the shrine, forcibly acquiring the status and as a result of that, the baby’s physical strength and magic power dries up and ended up dying.

After that, acquiring the status was made to be around the age of 1 year old and there was no more death of babies.
