While saying that, Dargris readies his sword and runs over while he brings his s.h.i.+eld out in front. Behind him, Rene prepares to cast magic. I’d very much like to stop Rene, who’s about to cast magic, before Dargris, but

“Haa!”

from another direction, Ely swings Barbatos, an axe that’s about her height, down at me. I deflect Barboros with Rolgar, but she carries on to scoop up with Barboros and raises it overhead.

I dodge by stepping back, but Dargris, who’d drawn close with that opening, swings his sword down. I rush in and drive my palm into Dargris’ abdomen while repelling Dargris’ sword with Rolgar.

Dargris tumbles while saying, ‘Guhee!’, but he immediately stands up. It’s because I hit him without putting too much strength into it.

Perhaps she completed her preparations while I’m battling Ely and Dargris, Rene casts her magic.

“Earth Needle!”

Her activated magic makes needles of dirt surround, take aim and fly at me from the ground. ……This, she intends to kill me huh. I jump up high while I’m having a cold sweat at Rene’s no holding back magic.

Alright, I guess it’s my turn to attack. I compress the air with Wind Magic in midair and make a foothold. It only lasts for a few seconds so I can’t really use it for long, but it’s more than enough as a foothold in midair.

I kick off the Wind Magic foothold, and first, I close in on Dargris. I thrust at Dargris at the speed that’s slightly quicker than what Dargris is able to react to.

“”Uoo! Sei! Wayy! Uooo!”

Dargris somehow reacts, but Rolgar grazes him little by little. And then, so as to save that Dargris, Rene and Ely attack me.

However, being within the attacks of Dargris’ sword, Ely’s axe, and Rene’s magic, I continue to attack without being hit.

And then

“uu!”

I send Dargris’ and Ely’s weapons flying when the opening came up, and while both of them are staggering, I thrust the tip of my spear at Rene’s throat. Rene raises both hands to the sides of her head, indicating her surrender.

“The winner is, Lei”

Cait, who’s a.s.suming the role of the referee, announces. Well, it’s something like training so winning or losing doesn’t particularly matter though.

“Aah~! It doesn’t feel like the attacks will land at alll~!”

Dargris throws himself down right where he is; Ely inflates her cheek with a ‘Pukuuー’and looks at me. It’s somewhat nostalgic, that is.

Rene is going to Dargris’ side and checking if he has any injuries. ……Just date already, you guys.

“But, Lei really is quick huh. Furthermore, you look like you’re not even half-serious huh”

I could only scratch my head at Cait’s question. Emma is nodding, ‘Un Un’, beside Cait. I guess Emma is probably saying that from the magic power perspective. But this feeling is good. Being able to live comfortably. If I compare it to that from two weeks ago.

I went to pay her a visit as well after I became capable of moving my body, but I recall that her complexion was beyond ghastly pale, she had become ashen and she looked quite frazzled. It’s something I heard from Alexia afterwards, but it seems my face had also been ghastly pale whenever I collapse.

……’I’d been making them worry quite a bit huh’, I thought and started feeling apologetic. I remember her making a somewhat scary smile and saying that she’ll think about it when I asked her what she wants me to do as an apology. ……I wonder what I’ll be told.

It seems the Ancient Dragon that the Pope was going up against turned into ashes and disappeared like how Gilgas turned into ashes and disappeared. I don’t understand the principle behind it, but according to the Pope, they probably had had some kind of contract.

And as for the casualties of this time’s attack; the Western Gate that the Ancient Dragon attacked from collapsed and the remnants of Gilgas and I having rampaged is being left in the whole town. The deceased is about 200 of the Chivalric Order. The Pope was saying that it’s considerably few though.

Indeed, if we consider the fact that territories were destroyed from Ancient Dragons’ attacks like in the past doc.u.ments, I guess you can consider it as pretty much no casualty. ‘This is also thanks to Caro’s barrier’, the Pope laughingly said.

Amongst the Chivalric Order’s deaths, there’s the White Tiger Chivalric Order’s Captain, and the Azure Dragon Chivalric Order’s Captain, Serpent. The White Tiger Chivalric Order’s Captain when he charged at Gilgas, and from what I heard, Serpent was apparently dragged into the wreck.

His corpse has been confirmed at the site of the wreck so I suppose it’s a piece of reliable information. On the other hand, the corpse of the White Tiger Chivalric Order’s Captain didn’t bear its original form, it seems they were sure about it because they were able to judge that the thing that was armour that it was wearing belonged to the Captain.

Well, a Dragon a.s.sailed. I guess we can only be objective about the fact that there are going to be deaths. The problem comes after that.

Apparently, the Pope investigated the dead Captain Serpent’s mansion. It seems the Pope had suspected that Serpent had been doing something behind the scenes and had been investigating it, but it seems Serpent doesn’t quite give himself away and the Pope was troubled. Over there, the person himself died so he investigated the mansion with a forceful approach, was what the Pope was saying.

As for the result of him investigating even while saying that it’s not really good for the reputation; various things came out. Corruption as well as bribery; murder as well as abduction and the likes. Serpent was apparently doing various things. He was saying that they secured boys confined in the bas.e.m.e.nt who are around 10 years old.

According to the boys, most of them were apparently abducted. Furthermore, the ones who were made to do it were those moneylenders who abducted Priscilla and the others. I never would’ve thought that it’d connect here. It’s because the Pope heard about that story from Caro as well that he talked to us about it.

Had they been abducted as it is without us realising, the boys would go to Serpent’s, and Priscillsan and the others would, as one would imagine, probably be sold to the slave trader, the Pope says.

Furthermore, even Cardinal Glenn had been involved in the hus.h.i.+ng of those crimes. Cardinal Glenn, whose matters were exposed, was caught by the Pope just as he tried to escape to his own territory and he’s currently being imprisoned.

It seems he also lent a hand to Serpent’s abductions, and as thanks for that, Serpent was apparently handing the taxes he had received from the moneylenders and the boys who were abducted to Cardinal Glenn. Naturally, the boys appeared from Cardinal Glenn’s mansion.

As for Cardinal Glenn’s treatment, apparently, in regards to his position, it’s stripped and he’s sentenced to death. Various things came out just from investigating Cardinal Glenn……Former Cardinal Glenn’s mansion that he has in the capital, so if they investigate his territory, there will probably be other things that come out.

With such things happening, the inside of the palace was extremely turbulent for a while. It’s calmed down slightly now, but because there’s one opening for the Cardinal, and two openings for the Captains, everybody is disputing behind closed doors, he said laughingly.

As I’m thinking, ‘such things happened in these 2 weeks huhh~’,

“Lei, is it a good time now?”

Caro came. Her complexion has become quite a bit better in comparison to when she was bedridden so I’m slightly relieved. I was really worried at that time. As I’m thinking about such things, I was unconsciously caressing Caro’s cheek

“Ah, sor, sorry. I kinda caressed you when I thought that your complexion has gotten better than before”

I say that and Caro softly mutters, ‘Idiot’, with a bright red face. I can hear the voices of Dargris and Cait that say, ‘Riajuu1 Die!’ but I ignore it. Rather, where did you learned those words? I’m slightly curious.

“Gohonn! An, and what’s wrong, Caro? Is something the matter?”

“Eh, eeh. The truth is, Okasama is calling for Lei. She was saying to also please bring the other fiancees and come”

Christinsama is calling me? Furthermore, even the other fiancees. I wonder what’s the matter?
