TN: A semi-depressing update. But I still think that it’s cute because Johann is here.

"Will they be alright?" Sapphire said in worry.
Johann held her hand. "Just let them be. Charlie and Big Bro Bari are already resting. You have also ordered the maids to not release the captives, right? We don't have any more problems then. It's just that the path to reconciliation is now in the hands of those six." He pulled her downstairs.
"Where are we going?" she asked in confusion.
"Let's go to the sea again. Let's take a stroll."
She didn't refute since she also liked his idea.
As they went outside, he was still grasping her hand. He doesn't want to let go. Since it's like that, she also didn't try to free it. The warmth enveloping her hand coming from his palm made her feel comfortable.
The wind was blowing coldly but the warmth from his hand seems enough to make her secure.
"There's only two more hours and it will be your birthday. Do you want to count down?"
Her eyes glanced down on his wrist.w.a.tch. "You're right! Well, I don't do count downs. I'll be going to sleep after this walk."
"You don't wait for your birthday? Aren't you excited? Your day only come once a year."
"I will wake up tomorrow. Why do I have to wait for later?"
He laughed. "You also have an issue against waiting, am I right? Well, you're rich. There's so many things you no longer have to wait to be yours."
She just shrugged. "What about you? Do you do countdowns for your birthday?"
"Yup. It's fun, you know? When the clock strikes twelve, that's already my day. It's something I'm thankful for."
He swayed their clasped hands. "Wife?"
"Yes?"
"If you're not really a man-hater&h.e.l.lip; then why do you refuse men? Did some men do something against you and you become like this? Have been betrayed before?"
She shakes her head and looked away from him. She directed her gaze on the calm dark sea. "The reason I pulled Lavender's hair before was because I was struck by her words."
"What did she say?"
It seems it's already time for her to share to her husband the things she had been keeping to herself and had not been shared to others for so long.
"I don't like men because&h.e.l.lip; as I grow up, I saw how my mother gave her attention to them. Her boyfriends, she pampered them so much. Although she no longer gave me some of her time, only remembering me whenever those boyfriends of her left her, I'm still happy for her as long as she's happy&h.e.l.lip; But I always felt envious to men because my mom always have time for them&h.e.l.lip;" She bit her lips when something was almost about to stream down. She hates crying. Ugh!
"I feel angry whenever&h.e.l.lip; they leave my Mom. Then I would see her crying. I feel so mad to her boyfriends because they wasted my Mom's love and time. Eh, they're so fortunate to receive those things from my mother, and then they dared hurt her? T-this is why I don't like men, eh. I'm envious of them since they are the only ones who can make my Mom happy yet they still always hurt her&h.e.l.lip;" She sniffed. If I were only given those time and love, I'll a.s.sure her I would never make her feel hurt. But maybe, as a child out of wedlock, I'll never be enough to make her h-happy&h.e.l.lip;"
That's her most guarded secret. Which she never planned to admit to anyone. That she's jealous of guys&h.e.l.lip; That the truth is, she can never make her mother feel contented since she was only a child begotten from a man who didn't take responsibility for them.
It was never easy growing up for Sapphire. She doesn't want to anger her Mom even though the woman never has time for her even but has plenty for her boyfriend. She doesn't want her Mom to become mad at her because she's still her mother and her grandma told her that she must love her no matter what.
And really loves her. And so all her hatred is now directed to boys. That way she won't have to conceive hatred for her mother. Because she doesn't want to. "S-someday, when my mom's youth and beauty were gone, it's me who can only love her truly and unconditionally. I wanted to save that love, Johann&h.e.l.lip; I can never hate my mom. So, I hated guys instead.”
