"Bella, Ariel, let's go," said Jiang Fei.
"Mr. Jiang Fei, I have matters to tend to here. I won't be sending you off," said Qin Tian in the coldest way before walking away without even a glance. The treatment towards Jiang Fei quickly turned 180 degrees when Jiang Fei announced that he had failed to capture the beast.
"Hmph! That's so rude of him! He'd toss you aside like a used tool! How insolent! I should capture that beast right now and shove it to his face!" Ariel barked, sulking as she did.
"Haha! My little cutesy pie. You're too naive if you think that I'm offended by his treatment," said Jiang Fei as he patted Ariel's head.
"That man did not care if I could chase after that thing. They were only treating me bad because I am of no use to them anymore!"
"What do you mean?" Ariel looked at Jiang Fei while c.o.c.king her head like a curious little girl.
"Haha! That thing is not a beast but a machine created by the military themselves. The only reason they called me in here was to be the witness to justify the mysterious power outage incident! Now that they have confirmed that I have seen it, they could blatantly push the blame on the "beast". What they were really up to would then be covered. No Metahuman would be curious to know the truth. If you went ahead and captured the beast, it would only put everyone in an awkward position," Jiang Fei explained proudly.
To be honest, Jiang Fei was torn. He did not want to go against the military. That was why he stopped chasing after the robot after knowing its real ident.i.ty. If Jiang Fei did not "give up" on the chase and captured the "beast", things might turn out worse.
"Wow! Darling, you're so smart! Had you not explained, I would never have guessed it!" Ariel praised.
"Pfff! Haha!" Isabella burst out laughing when Jiang Fei was enjoying being praised and revered by Ariel.
"Ariel, my cute little sister, you're so bad for tricking our darling!"
"Ehh? I didn't! He is smart! It's true! He figured it out himself!" Ariel barked again. Unfortunately, she failed to mask her lies properly this time.
"ARIEL!!! You sly little minx! Come here, you!" Jiang Fei playfully roared and held her close before softly pinching her soft pink cheeks. While Ariel's cheeks were red from being pinched, Jiang Fei's was glowing red from shame. The little mermaid princess knew about the machine and even pretended to be angry so that Jiang Fei could step in to be the alphmale!
After having "fun" with both Isabella and Ariel, Ariel snapped her fingers and teleported everyone back to Manda Square. Even though the matter with the electric-sucking beast was "dealt" with, Jiang Fei knew that things would escalate. Things far worse than electric-sucking beasts would manifest.
Right now, the most logical explanation as to why the military had resorted to fooling Jiang Fei was hidden experimentation. They must have conducted some sort of experiment that drew in a huge amount of energy that led to the power outages. Most likely, the experiment would be linked to the Android project.
"Darling, what do you plan to do next?" Isabella asked.
"I… honestly? I don't know," replied Jiang Fei.
From the perspective of a martial artist, Jiang Fei was afraid of the day when the military could deploy Level 5 Androids. That would be the day of culling. Even though he was better with the military compared to the other martial artists, the day would come when he too, would not be spared.
Jiang Fei was just a young man who recently graduated from high school. Fresh into the society, Jiang Fei did not want to be an enemy of the state. Even when he had the power and capability to completely cripple the research and development of the Androids, it was something that the patriot in him would not allow.
"Sooner or later, they will come and when they do, things will be ugly. Then again, I don't really have many connections to either the military and the martial artist alliance. Might as well leave this G.o.d-forsaken-land and be with my own people!"
In the end, Jiang Fei reached a simple conclusion. To avoid clas.h.i.+ng with the nation's interests, Jiang Fei thought of taking his family and friends with him to his own Winter Islands. There, he would not be disturbed. Best of all, no one would purposely travel that far to the west, just to pick a fight with Jiang Fei. That, and the threat of being annihilated by Zhuge Shanzhen!
Jiang Fei had this idea once before. He even informed his parents about it. His mother was all on board with the idea but his father was reluctant to do so. However, he understood that he knew too little about the world and decided to listen to Jiang Fei's advice to not let him worry too much about his family.
Back then, Jiang Fei did not pester his parents to leave China. In a way of speaking, the entire process of immigrating to another continent might be too much but now, things are different. As the frequency of power outages increased, it was likely that the military increased their production rates. Who knew when the military would roll out their Level 5 Androids and attack Jiang Fei's home without any warning. Now would be the best time to leave.
Honest to G.o.d, Jiang Fei did not care what would happen between the military and the martial artist alliance. All he cared for were the people he was truly close to.
After a few days, Jiang Fei started moving. At the same time, he took out the Rebirth Egg and started incubating it. Han Tianyu was all but welcome to Jiang Fei's idea of moving to the Winter Islands. Unexpectedly, the military was also extremely supportive of the idea. They were glad to have Jiang Fei leave since the G.o.d-like Zhuge Shanzhen would not be bothered to make a move if the military attacked the martial artist alliance that Jiang Fei had chose not to affiliate himself with. With him out of the picture, they had removed their toughest obstacle to their future plans.
It took him merely three days to pack and consolidate everything. At the same time, Jiang Fei had made some progress with his in-game character. Finally filling up his experience point gauge, the now Level 99 Jiang Fei went ahead to meet his master, Ou Yezi, in Heaven's Realm.
"Greetings, master! I am ready to take the test!" said Jiang Fei.
Ou Yezi was sitting down, writing something on a paper when Jiang Fei came to him.
"Good. Have you filled up your experience point gauge to the maximum?" he asked, setting his papers aside.
"Yes, master! I have done what you have told me to do!"
"Very good. Take this. Gather enough materials. Once you have crafted this, you will be able to advance to the next stage," said Ou Yezi, handing over a piece of parchment to Jiang Fei before returning to his writing.
"Master, what are you scribbling?" said Jiang Fei as he glanced forward and noticed a few words and drawings on the paper.
"These are dimensional weak points. If those cultists wished to open a dimensional rift, they would be choosing from these few points," said Ou Yezi as he quickly highlighted a few circles which were the points that he emphasized.
"Master, do you have any plans to stop them?" Jiang Fei asked.
"Nothing new besides killing all the evil cultist, you have to make haste in lighting up the G.o.dflame. Only when you have done so, we can launch a counterattack to the Primordial Celestials! Once you, the spark that will light up the fire to burn down the Primordial Celestial, have breached into their realm, they will stop all their efforts in trying to breach ours!"
