Jiang Fei did not bother to talk to any of the players there as there was none that he recognized. He merely flew over them and minded his own business.
As soon as he saw his target, Jiang Fei descended and landed not too far away from the Drake. However, as soon as he approached his target, he saw someone was fighting it! That made him incredibly mad.
Luckily, the one that was fighting Drake Fluer was not a player, but an Elven NPC named Dhamos. The Elves were enemies of Nephilim race hence from Jiang Fei's perspective, Jiang Fei saw two NPCs with red name tags fighting each other.
Drake Fluer (Drake, Intermediate Lord)
Level: 75
Health Points: 15,000,000
Attack Power: 26,000
Skills: Stomp, Bite, Berserk.
Dhamos (Elf, Intermediate Lord)
Level: 75
Health Points: 15,000,000
Attack Power: 25,000
Skills: Enhanced Evasion, Roundhouse Kick, Wind Spirit Infusion, Shadow Strike.
From the looks of their stats, the two were equally strong. Beast type monsters had stronger attack and higher Health Points while Humanoid monsters had better skills. The two were evenly matched.
"Tsk… It's the idiotic Dragon Slayer wannabe," Isabella clicked her tongue and grunted.
"I see…"
Isabella had explained to him once that many warriors were warned not to disturb any being from the Draconian race. However, if they could get themselves a Dragon Slayer t.i.tle, they could go back to their hometowns and boast. Hence, as the story of the games goes, NPCs would often hunt for the dumber subspecies of Draconians and kill them to earn the t.i.tle.
All Dragon offsprings would carry some memory of their ancestor in their genes. However, the product of copulating between a male Dragon and other races would not mix well. Even though they would carry the dominant gene, the offsprings were often "r.e.t.a.r.ded" in nature. Other races could not properly understand the complexity of the Draconian knowledge and it would corrupt the brains of the offsprings that inherited them. Hence, even though there were so many Dragon subspecies around, only a handful of them had proper intelligence.
Drake Fluer was one of those that had their brains fried albeit having superior physique and strength. Hence, even though it was fighting the Elf evenly for now, it had failed to understand the enemy's scheme. Leading it to a simple trap or ambush was as simple as taking candy from a baby.
"Interesting…" said Jiang Fei to himself as he observed the battle between the two NPCs. When he just arrived, the two had sustained some damage from each other. The Drake had 70% health points left while the Elf had over 90%. The thing was… Jiang Fei had been observing the match for roughly 10 minutes and nothing had changed!
"Hmm. This must be where I come in," said Jiang Fei. It was obvious then that Jiang Fei was meant to step in between the fight. Even if he waited until the end of time, the two would still be fighting, with one at 70% health and the other at 90%.
"Bad luck, I guess," said Jiang Fei to himself.
If he had done the quest yesterday, he could step in and side with the Elf to take down the Drake. Even though Jiang Fei was an enemy of the Elves, he would still allow Jiang Fei to help since an enemy of an enemy is a friend. Logically speaking, the Elf would not do anything to Jiang Fei until the Drake is taken down.
The bad luck that Jiang Fei had exclaimed was him being declared as a wanted man by the Divine Light G.o.d. His hatred in the eyes of all Light Faction was at the max. As long as he was within range of the Elf NPC, he would surely change his target to Jiang Fei.
On the other hand, the Drake was the quest target. It will also attack Jiang Fei first! Hence, the quest difficulty had only doubled.
"Tsk. Whoever designed this r.e.t.a.r.ded quest must have hated the Shadow Faction. Why couldn't it be a Neutral Faction NPC fighting the Drake? How bothersome…"
Despite that, Jiang Fei did not hesitate to step into the fight. If it was a while ago, he would have skipped the quest until he was much stronger. With the Dragon's Bane in his hands, how could he still be mad about it?
"Bella, could you please wait here for a bit?" said Jiang Fei as he changed into his Demon form.
With almost 12,000 Defense and doubled attack power, Jiang Fei would be able to stand in the fight for some time before being killed. Moreover, his movement speed was so fast that he had not needed the dragon to fly him there!
"HM!? Aren't you the lowly demon that had courted the Saint of the Light! I shall have your head!" the Elf roared and immediately changed his target to Jiang Fei.
"What the h.e.l.l is wrong with him! Bah! I shall kill him first then!"
Jiang Fei snarled back and attacked the Elf.
At the same time, when the Drake had noticed Jiang Fei coming in closer, it roared and charged towards him.
The two bosses' attacks were painful, but Jiang Fei was still able to hold up since he had powerful Lifesteal effect. As long as Jiang Fei continues to attack, he would be fine.
As soon as Jiang Fei started attacking, he had noticed that his attack speed had indeed been increased. It was the pa.s.sive skill, Infatuation. It was so fast that Jiang Fei could attack two times in one second, allowing him to stack Ruthless Barrage to the max in less than 5 seconds.
"Time to die," Jiang Fei roared as he took out the Dragon's Bane and throwing it at the Elf.
"What in the world…"
All Dhamos could feel then was a powerful devastating aura coming towards him. However, before he could react to it, he was immediately pierced by the spear and killed.
-19,827,514!
Jiang Fei's attack had dealt close to 20 million damage in a single attack. Even if the Elf was at 100% health, he would still die instantly by the spear.
The poor Dhamos could only scream in pain as the spear pierced through his chest. Sadly, since he was part of the quest, Dhamos did not drop anything, not even experience points.
"Your turn," said Jiang Fei as he picked up the spear and aimed it at Drake. The reason he killed Dhamos first was that he hated him from the start and the fear of his knowledge of the weapon's prowess and using it against him.
Now that there was no one else there to pick the spear, he could easily pick it up himself and use it again without fear.
"Huh? There's no cooldown? This is truly overpowered!" cried Jiang Fei when he picked the spear up. No wonder the spear did not have an auto-retrieval system! If the user would simply throw this spear without cooldown, he could even kill a G.o.d or G.o.ds easily!"
Jiang Fei thrust his arms up high and hurled the spear to the Drake, instantly killing it.
After he retrieved Dragon's Bane, he felt lucky that he got to test the weapon with the Drake and the Elf.
"I can't use this spear in any other battles beside a solo fight! If someone else picks it up, I'm dead!" said Jiang Fei.
